Chapter 132 Severing Ties

Before today, David had never paid any attention to Abigail.

In his heart, it was Jessica—who would lean into his arms, act spoiled, and always care for him—who was truly his daughter.

Meanwhile, Abigail resembled Michelle too closely. She resembled Michelle too closely, particularly in her eyes and eyebrows, which were almost identical.

Every time he saw Abigail, he would think of Michelle's business acumen and her strong, cold demeanor.

It was a deep-seated sense of inferiority and fear that fueled his aversion to Abigail.

But he had forgotten that Abigail had been suppressed for too long. Any remaining familial affection she had for him was extinguished by David himself, leading to the current situation.

David gritted his teeth and softened his tone, "Abigail, your mother wouldn't want to see us turn against each other. Be good and give me the property deed."

At this moment, he deeply regretted not having been more ruthless back then and transferring all the real estate to his own name.

Abigail, however, put away the property deed, smiled, and said, "If my mom were still here, she would definitely praise me for doing well. You have three days to move out, or I'll call the police and report you for occupying private property."

David was furious. He immediately rushed in front of Abigail, raising his hand to hit her.

"Like mother, like daughter," he spat. "You're exactly the same—vicious and heartless! You want to know why I don't like you? It's because you are the biggest disgrace of my life!"

Hearing David curse Michelle like that, Abigail was stunned and forgot to dodge. "What did you say?"

What answered her was a gust of wind and the shadow of a hand.

Seeing that she couldn't dodge, Abigail could only close her eyes.

However, the expected slap didn't land. Instead, she heard a heart-wrenching scream.

Abigail opened her eyes to see Gregory standing beside her.

He was dressed in an exquisite custom suit, exuding an indescribable air of nobility.

Yet, this noble man was now pressing his foot on David and grabbing his collar with both hands. In a deep voice, he demanded, "Who were you cursing just now?"

Though his tone was low and calm, it carried an inexplicable sense of menace.

David had been about to hit Abigail, but before his hand could touch her, he was kicked hard.

Then, everything spun around him.

He fell heavily to the ground and struggled to get up, only to be pinned down by Gregory's foot on his abdomen, unable to move.

Facing Gregory's cold eyes, David was terrified. "Mr. White? Why are you here?"

"If I didn't come, wouldn't my wife be bullied by you?" As Gregory spoke, he pressed harder with his foot, causing David to experience a crushing pain in his chest that made him frown.

He quickly apologized, "Mr. White, I know I was wrong, I really know. Please let me go!"

He dared to show off in front of Abigail but didn't dare to act recklessly in front of Gregory.

"Let you go? Apologize to my wife first," Gregory said.

He had tolerated David long enough, always giving him some leeway because he was Abigail's father.

But now it seemed he had been too lenient, leading to David's excessive behavior.

David was reluctant, but faced with Gregory's threat, he had to comply.

He reluctantly said, "Abigail, I spoke too harshly just now. I'm sorry!"

Abigail stepped forward, looking down at David. "What did you mean by what you said earlier? What do you mean I'm your disgrace?"

David's eyes flickered, and he tightly shut his mouth, not daring to say a word.

At this moment, Kayla's voice, filled with hatred, came through, "You really want to know? It's because your mother was just a..."

"Shut up!" David's eyes were filled with anger as he roared to interrupt Kayla.

Facing his bloodshot eyes, Kayla was startled and quickly shut her mouth.

Abigail's heart sank, and she signaled to Jason behind her. "Since your words are so harsh, then don't say anything more."

Jason understood her meaning immediately and stepped forward to give Kayla several hard slaps.

Kayla's eyes widened in terror, shaking her head repeatedly. "No."

Abigail watched coldly and said, "It seems I was too lenient with you before, making you think I'm easy to bully. Since you look down on me and my mom so much, fine. From now on, we sever our father-daughter relationship."

The last sentence was directed at David.

After speaking, she took out a pre-prepared document from her bag.

Once signed, she and David would have no more ties.

Upon seeing the words "sever relationship" on the document, a chaotic emotion surged in David's heart.

At this moment, he truly understood that Abigail was completely disappointed in him as a father.

He shook his head desperately, unwilling to sign, but Gregory grabbed his hand and forced him to sign.

"Mr. Martin, you should know my methods. It's very easy for me to make someone disappear without a trace," Gregory said.

David's shoulders trembled violently, and he finally lowered his head in silence and signed the document.

Seeing him sign, Gregory finally lifted his foot.

Abigail put away the document and looked at David and Kayla as if they were trash. "I've changed my mind. Move out by tomorrow at the latest, or don't blame me for being rude."

After speaking, she took Gregory's hand and walked away without looking back.

Watching Abigail's resolute departure, David felt an emptiness in his heart.

It was as if something important was gradually slipping away.

Kayla, on the other hand, looked at the mess in the yard and cried out in anguish, "This is too much! We've lived in this house for so many years, why should we have to leave just because she says so? I'm not moving! If you have the guts, kill me!"

David couldn't believe that the usually gentle Kayla had such a fierce side.

For some reason, Michelle's calm face suddenly flashed in his mind.

Michelle possessed a unique aura. Regardless of the situation she faced, she would always appear calm and composed, standing as if she were glowing, which made it difficult for people to look away.

Unfortunately, Michelle had been too proud and too strong, never knowing how to show weakness. Otherwise, they would never have ended up like this.
