Chapter 110 A Huge Surprise
Standing above, looking at Brooklyn's attempts to retrieve her ring, Seraphina and Susie were finally satisfied.
Seraphina apologized to the guests, "I'm really sorry, this child is really immature and embarrassing. I will definitely educate her well in the future."
"Everyone, after my father passed away, Brooklyn was greatly affected. Perhaps tonight, she was thinking of her father, which is why she did such a thing." Susie pointed to her head. "Please forgive her."
What? The Miss of the Mitchell family had mental issues and was making a scene at the banquet because of it?
Sebastian returned, his dark eyes chilling. "This foolish woman, Brooklyn! How dare she embarrass herself even more!"
"Dario, come to the Mandarin Oriental immediately. You have two minutes!" Sebastian ordered.
After hanging up, he quickly walked towards the direction of the swimming pool. "Make way." The guests automatically made way for him.
When Sebastian saw the two people in the pool, his face turned livid! Did they even know what they are doing?
"Quinn, come up!" Sebastian ordered, shocking the guests once again.
Quinn? Did Sebastian just call this young man Mr. Quinn, who had become a controversial figure after studying abroad for a few years?
Was there even more explosive news?
"Sebastian," Quinn said.
Sebastian ordered again, "Come up!"
Quinn gritted his teeth. "Sebastian, she is looking for something and hasn't found it yet."
Sebastian's dark eyes seemed like they could strangle him at any moment. "What's it to you? Are you crazy, too?"
Crazy?
Brooklyn stood up from the water, her dress clinging to her body, accentuating her curves!
She stared at Sebastian, questioning him with her eyes. 'Do you also think I am crazy?'
She thought to herself, 'I am crazy! I must be crazy to care so much about a meaningless ring! I must be crazy to be searching for it here like a fool!'
However, she didn't want to waste another word on him.
She gave him a cold look, bent down, and continued to search.
Under the water, there was a small glimmer. Brooklyn swam desperately towards it, picked up the ring, and held it in her hand!
She found it!
At that moment, she seemed to have received a huge surprise from the heavens. A smile spread across her face underwater, and she took a deep breath, swallowing a mouthful of water.
As Quinn was ordered to come ashore, Brooklyn emerged from the water. Quinn stood on the shore, soaked, with a chilling Sebastian beside him.
Brooklyn wanted to come ashore, but when she looked down, she realized her dress was almost transparent! She crouched down again.
Brooklyn thought, 'Damn, Sebastian, do you want your wife to be seen like this by everyone? '
Sebastian looked at her for a few seconds before coldly saying, "Gentlemen, is it appropriate to stare like this?"
As soon as he spoke, the male guests all turned their heads, no longer daring to covet her beauty.
Sebastian's intervention in this matter puzzled everyone.
Brooklyn looked around and stood up from the water, her dress clinging tightly to her body, making her even more alluring.
Sebastian pursed his lips but remained silent.
He reluctantly took off his coat and roughly wrapped it around Brooklyn, pulling her tightly into his arms.
This was the second time he had covered her body in embarrassment.
She was making a fool of herself outside, yet he had to clean up after her. How many times did she plan on doing this?
Brooklyn shivered from the cold, her lips turning blue, her face pale. "I must explain; my mind is perfectly normal!"
Her voice carried a chill, and with each word, a puff of mist escaped her mouth.
The two were too close, her icy body touching his warm chest, making her heart race.
"Still inclined to explain? Brooklyn, do you feel that the recent humiliation isn't sufficient? Do you know they're trying to label you as mentally unwell?" Sebastian growled.
The guests couldn't decipher the peaceful exchange between the two, but what caused this sudden surge of ambiguous tension?
The usually ruthless and cold Sebastian actually assisted the frantic woman who fell into the water.
Brooklyn said, "Give you credit for being ruthless!"
Sebastian replied, "Whether it's ruthless or not, you will find out."
Sebastian strode confidently through the crowd, and the male guests dared not lift their heads throughout.
Brooklyn was led out of the banquet venue by her wrist, yearning to wrap herself tightly in a thick blanket to fend off the cold. Yet, compared to the chill in the air, Sebastian's current cold gaze struck a chill in her heart.
Why was he wearing such an expression? The one who was openly affectionate with Megan in front of the Mitchell family was him!
They had been in a secret marriage for three years, unknown to outsiders but known to the members of the Mitchell family.
He gave her absolutely no face.
Thinking of this, Brooklyn, ignoring the cold biting into her, struggled forcefully. "Sebastian, why all this? You publicly humiliate me, now help me—what does it amount to?"
In the night's darkness, Sebastian's obsidian eyes stirred waves. "So, you'd rather go back and continue to embarrass yourself? Take another dive into the swimming pool to validate your insanity. Or do you wish to return and be publicly shamed by your stepmother and sister? Brooklyn, you pride yourself on being clever, and you consider yourself composed, but today, you have truly opened my eyes!"
Brooklyn was shocked not by his sarcasm but by the fact that Sebastian had spoken so many words at once. His voice was low and musical, each word entering her ears like a mesmerizing melody.
"What are you looking at?" His voice remained cold.
Brooklyn raised her eyebrows slightly, lifted her chin, and looked at his exquisitely sculpted face. "Sebastian, do you have a split personality?"
Sebastian furrowed his brows. "What are you trying to say?"
She suddenly lowered her voice and screamed, stopping in her tracks. Sebastian grabbed her arm and straightened his back.
"What's wrong?" Sebastian inquired.
"My foot."
When she mentioned her foot, he looked down and saw her bare feet, her fair skin stepping on the stones, her cute toes curling up one by one due to the pain. Her skin was so white, even whiter than her feet.
He looked at her feet, finding them like delicately carved jade.
Sebastian impatiently lifted her up, a dominant embrace, her legs dangling, falling into his warm arms.
Their skins touched, heartbeats intertwined, the sudden contact and intimacy made Brooklyn's ears heat up.
"What's going on? Mr. Kingsley actually hugged Brooklyn? Are they that close?"
"The women around Sebastian change faster than Chanel bags. Not to mention hugging. No one knows how many women he has slept with."
"But just now, he was with Megan, and their relationship is said to be stable. Megan is even pregnant with his child. Is it too much for him to do this?"
"Naive! Do you think Sebastian will stay with one woman for a lifetime? Dream on. I guess he is keeping Brooklyn."
"Well, how can Brooklyn compare to Megan?"
Whispers spread among the women, and as the two walked further away, the gossip grew louder. Brooklyn trembled in his arms, her shoulders shaking with anger, a hint of resentment rising in her eyes.
"Sebastian, is this your intention?"
