Chapter 173 If We Die, We Die Together

"Drive!" It was Sebastian.

Brooklyn was startled.

When did he appear?

"Stop looking at me.Drive!"

Brooklyn hesitated for a moment before starting the engine.

The gasoline on the second floor of the house exploded in a chain reaction, engulfing the entire building in flames!

Thinking they had escaped, Brooklyn suddenly heard the sound of bullets hitting the rear window!

"They're coming after us! What do we do?"

"Drive! Don't think about anything else. Focus on the steering wheel!"

Sebastian's cold and serious tone at this critical moment had a reassuring effect as she found herself focusing solely on the steering wheel.

However, her driving skills were terrible.

Sebastian frowned deeply, "What can you do besides practicing medicine?"

Brooklyn's heart nearly jumped out of her chest. He was mocking her even now!

"I've never been in this situation before. How would I know?"

"Shut up! Keep driving, step on the gas, and don't crash."

She couldn't guarantee they wouldn't crash.

Sebastian cracked the passenger window slightly, leaned out, and fired shots behind them.

Four cars were following them, showing that the earlier fire didn't kill them.

Sebastian's bullets were limited, and Brooklyn's erratic driving made it difficult for him to aim. Every time he tried to line up a shot, her trembling hand caused the bullet to veer off course.

The bullets from behind were fired together. Even with bulletproof plates and glass, they couldn't withstand such a barrage. If they didn't shake off their pursuers quickly, they would be shot and killed.

Although Sebastian's handgun was top-notch, it only held fifteen rounds. The best option was to lose them.

"I'll drive, and you shoot."

"Me?"

Brooklyn had only ever held a scalpel, never a gun!

But she agreed, "Okay!"

At breakneck speed, she knew his plan must be the best. Sebastian must have acknowledged that Brooklyn knew nothing about firearms or shooting.

They quickly switched positions. Brooklyn seemed to be operating on autopilot today,  not knowing where her courage and agility came from. Perhaps Sebastian's presence beside her made her feel safe.

Bullets whizzed by, and she was terrified, but he made her feel like, "I'm here too. What are you afraid of?"

Suddenly, four SUVs surged from four directions, attempting to surround their vehicle. Sebastian swiftly spun the steering wheel, and the car raced across the desolate terrain like a bird in flight!

"I can't aim! How do I do that?"

Brooklyn held the gun with both hands, and it was heavier than she had imagined. The guns on TV shows were indeed props!

"Shoot the tires!"

Sebastian thought that the more he told her what to shoot, the less likely she would hit. So he told her, "Just pull the trigger, and make noise."

"Okay!"

Firing a gun for the first time, Brooklyn didn't bother aiming properly and just fired at the right side of a car!

As expected, she missed and hit the metal plate.

But Sebastian was surprised. It was Brooklyn's first time handling a gun, but she had successfully fired a shot, hitting the car.

Sebastian controlled the steering wheel with both hands, driving at high speed. He made the ordinary Jeep feel like a professional sports car.

"Keep shooting! Treat it like the heart's arteries, the gun as a scalpel, and don't think about anything else!"

Would a simple instruction turn her into a secret agent?

Gritting her teeth, Brooklyn fired another shot, this time hitting the car's window, shattering a piece of it.

"Keep going!"

After firing several shots, she quickly ran out of bullets. At least she had hit one car's rear tire, immobilizing it.

However, with no more bullets, the three remaining cars completely disregarded caution and accelerated to catch up!

The three cars encircled the Jeep, and ahead was the highway with heavy traffic. Reckless driving could easily lead to an accident.

Suddenly, the three cars blocked the entrance to the highway.

Brooklyn looked at Sebastian in admiration and fear, his face devoid of any tension. She thought, 'Is he even human?'

'He must not be!'

Sebastian slowed down, and the three cars ahead saw them as easy prey.

"Are we going to die, Sebastian?" Brooklyn said.

Sebastian expressionlessly surveyed the distance and road ahead. "Any last words? "

She wanted to say something, but what was the point of telling him now? They were going to die together anyway. In truth, she had no regrets. If they were going to die, so be it.

"No."

Sebastian's heart sank. This woman was not even willing to say something nice to him at the last moment. She didn't even bother to lie.

Damn it.

"Close your eyes and hold on tight!"

Brooklyn grabbed the overhead handle tightly but forgot to close her eyes.

With a sudden acceleration of a heart-stopping pace, the Jeep soared into the air and flew over the car's roof in the middle—a perfect mid-air maneuver.

The car landed back on the ground.

Brooklyn was dumbfounded!

The people in the three cars were even more dumbfounded. What had they just witnessed?

The car sped along the highway, leaving behind bullets, flames, and death as if they were all in the past.

After the Jeep came to a stop on the lower road, Brooklyn slammed on the brakes too suddenly, causing her to shake violently.

"Sebastian, are you a god?"

After surviving such a close call, she had to ask.

Sebastian glanced at her, a hint of amusement in his eyes. "Guess."
