Chapter 348 You're Hard to Invite
'People are always trying to get on my good side, offering me lavish material incentives. Some even kneel and beg. But this guy in the black suit? He's the first to try and pressure me by claiming to be a patient,' Scarlett thought, her lips curling into a light, breezy smile. It wasn't a polite smile; it was pure disdain.
Lisa chuckled and said, "Sir, no matter how much money you offer or what kind of patient story you spin, Scarlett ain't making a house call. So save your breath and step aside."
This was the first time Dario had been turned down while working for Sebastian. Usually, he didn't even need to drop Sebastian's name; just being there was enough to represent the most famous man from the Kingsley family in Aucester. He never expected anyone to refuse him. "Ms. Taylor, you're coming with me today."
Cory stepped in front of Scarlett, spreading his arms and speaking in broken Libertyan, "What are you doing?"
Dario smirked, "Sir, our boss just wants to invite her over as a guest, nothing more. Please step aside, or else..."
As he spoke, Dario nodded to a few bodyguards waiting outside. The men in black got the message and came over, roughly restraining Cory and dragging him away.
Lisa turned pale with fright, thinking, 'How can this happen in Libertya?! Isn't this place supposed to be safe?'
Seeing Cory being manhandled, Scarlett, worried they might get hurt, coldly said, "Let them go. I'll go with you."
"No! Ms. Taylor, it's too dangerous. You can't go," Lisa protested.
Scarlett nodded to Lisa. "I'll be fine. Go back to the hotel and pack our things. I'll be back soon."
Dario smiled. "Ms. Taylor, no need to pack. I'll have someone take good care of your assistants. Don't worry."
Scarlett frowned deeply. "If you harm them, I won't save the patient."
"Don't worry, we welcome foreign friends," Dario said.
With that, four bodyguards in black escorted Lisa and Cory into a business car, which then sped away.
Dario bent down and gestured towards the open door of a Bentley. "Ms. Taylor, please."
The black Bentley cruised along the main road. Scarlett sat in the back seat, watching the streets, pedestrians, and plants of this unfamiliar place. Everything was strange to her, and she hadn't had time to get used to it.
The driver focused solely on driving, not glancing around or saying a word.
Dario sat in the front passenger seat, trying to make conversation with a polite smile. "Ms. Taylor, our boss's villa is in the suburbs. It's a bit of a drive. You can rest for a while."
"No need," she replied calmly, her voice emotionless.
Dario started to indirectly introduce Sebastian, "Actually, our boss has several villas in the city. If you need a place to stay, he can definitely arrange it for you."
"No need," she said, still calm.
Dario sighed inwardly. 'She's tough. Not easy to deal with at all.'
"Honestly, I can show you pictures of the houses later, and you can pick one yourself," Dario offered.
'Is this part of the consultation fee? Seriously, no need,' Scarlett thought.
"Sir, you don't need to tell me about your boss's many houses. I'm not interested."
He fell silent. Despite all his experience in negotiations, Dario felt outmatched by Scarlett.
Luckily, the car finally stopped in front of a luxurious villa in the suburbs. The place was huge, at least 11,000 square feet, more like a private leisure garden than a villa.
The villa had everything: a beautiful garden, lush lawns, winding paths, a charming gazebo, a sparkling swimming pool, and more.
The car door opened, and Dario led Scarlett through a large flower bed, past a rose trellis, to the main beige villa, a stylish three-story building with a chandelier hanging outside the door, exuding refined taste.
The flower beds on either side of the villa's main entrance were filled with lush camellias. Though not in bloom, the branches were well-trimmed, better than any other flowers.
"Ms. Taylor, please."
Scarlett frowned as the double wooden doors automatically opened, revealing a 3,500-square-foot living room decorated in an Aegean Haven style, predominantly blue and white, casual, simple, elegant, and comfortable.
It was indeed a great place for relaxation.
The furniture was all Aegean Haven, carefully selected for ultimate enjoyment, showing its powerful and wealthy.
Scarlett walked to the center under the large chandelier. Two symmetrical spiral staircases led up, and from the left staircase, a pair of men's feet descended. Before seeing his face, she heard his voice. "I heard you're hard to get."
'That's not a question, it's a statement. But why does the voice sound so familiar?' Scarlett wondered as she looked up at the white handrail, searching for Sebastian's figure. "I heard you're seriously ill."
Her response was even more direct. Clearly, she was venting her dissatisfaction, as he was the first to dare kidnap her for a consultation!
Sebastian's lips curved slightly, not quite a smile, but close.
In a moment, Sebastian appeared before her, standing on the third step, looking down at her with a cold, noble arrogance.
Sebastian had taken off his suit jacket. Over his plain shirt, he wore a silver vest, perfectly tailored and crisply ironed, accentuating his straight, powerful waist, making him look tall, handsome, and extremely charming.
Looking up at Sebastian, Scarlett was more astonished than amazed! "Why is it you!"
