Chapter 155: Truly Fall in Love With Her

The bitterness of the dissolved pill danced recklessly between Sebastian's lips. Despite the taste, he felt nothing bitter in his heart and eyes as he held Brooklyn in his arms.

Struggling to swallow the medication, Brooklyn suddenly coughed forcefully. Sebastian hurriedly patted her back, helping her regulate her breathing before releasing her.

After more than half an hour of struggling, Sebastian finally finished feeding the medication. He breathed a sigh of relief, once again laying her flat on the bed and covering her abdomen with a corner of the blanket.

With everything done, Sebastian reluctantly closed the door.

Upstairs in the bedroom, Megan had just finished a conversation with Piper, who had informed her that Sebastian had taken Brooklyn away. However, she hadn't expected this outcome!

Megan thought Sebastian would come upstairs to sleep, but after waiting for a long time, there was still no movement.

In the study, Sebastian turned on his computer with a low-proof vodka by his side. He initiated a video call, revealing a handsome and slightly cynical face.

"So, the busy man finally contacts me? What's up? Missed me?" Brandon joked with his old buddy. However, Sebastian, who rarely contacted him without a reason, reaching out at midnight, must have something urgent on his mind.

Brandon, lounging by a pool overseas, waited for what was to come.

Raising his glass with long fingers, Sebastian took a sip in annoyance. "When are you coming back to the country? I need your help."

Guessing right, Brandon replied, "I currently have no plans to return, but I can make an exception for you. However, at least let me know what it's about."

Brandon, direct and to the point, didn't beat around the bush with Sebastian.

Sebastian frowned, his sharp eyes revealed a mix of complex emotions. "Brooklyn, do you remember her?"

The man on the video screen looked as if he had swallowed a fly, almost breaking through the display. "The one who almost knocked you down, right?"

Sebastian furrowed his brows again. "Yes."

Brandon coughed. "What's going on? Are you still in touch? It's been about three years now. Wait a minute. In two months, it'll be four years since that incident. Damn, you, who's usually so indifferent, still remember something four years ago? When did you become sentimental?"

Sebastian took another sip of his drink. "Cut the nonsense. I need all the information on her, everything."

Brandon tapped the armrest of his chair. "All of it? That won't be easy."

"If it were easy, would I be coming to you? I need answers as soon as possible. The sooner, the better," Sebastian demanded.

Brandon, a smart individual, guessed from Sebastian's tone and expression that he was almost correct. "Wow, Mr. Kingsley, please don't tell me you've developed real feelings for this woman. You'll scare me to death!"

Surrounded by various beauties, Sebastian had never truly engaged with any of them. As for what he knew about Megan, she clearly only played a role when the occasion demanded it. As for the other women fluttering around, they were not even worth mentioning.

The world claimed that Sebastian was a heartbreaker who would never take a woman seriously in his life, likely to be defined by fortune-tellers as destined to be alone.

However, Brandon had somehow detected that Sebastian had developed feelings!

Sebastian furrowed his brow, narrowing his sharp eyes. "I may have made the most impulsive and wrong decision of my life."

Anxiously, Brandon asked, "What decision?"

Sebastian kept his eyes closed, preparing himself for Brandon's astonishment. "Three years ago, I married her."

Brandon fell silent, shocked, and terrified!

The man on the video screen smashed a large glass of cocktail. "What? You got married!? You hid your marriage from me for three years and I had no idea!"

Sebastian coldly retorted, "Stop howling. You know now, and I had planned to keep it from you."

Brandon felt betrayed by the whole world! 'Are we even friends anymore?' Brandon thought.

"Wait, I need a drink," Brandon said. "What do you want me to investigate? What is your wife's background? Why didn't you do it three years ago, but now?"

"Enough with the chatter. Just get it done." Sebastian didn't want to wait. He wished he could know everything right now!

Stirred up, Brandon downed a large glass of whiskey. "Wait a minute. The news is all over about you and Megan. She's even pregnant with your child. What are you going to do? Marry her?"

Sebastian furrowed his brow. "Her?!" He snorted coldly. "Megan's presence only confirms something for me. Once that matter is settled, her fate is just a word from me."

Megan should have understood the consequences of seeking his favor back then. While Sebastian had been generous with her, spending lavishly, it didn't mean he was willing to open his heart.

"I see. As I expected, a woman like Megan is destined for a bad end. Wait a minute. You haven't answered my previous question. Have you developed feelings for Brooklyn?" Brandon asked.

Sebastian, feeling tormented and frustrated, downed the contents of his glass. He gripped the Hermès glass tightly. With a fierce internal struggle, his pupils dilated and then contracted.

"The second mistake, perhaps, was truly falling in love with her."
