Chapter 354 I Must Become Friends with You
Scarlett felt pretty lost dealing with this odd girl from Libertya. She tried to shake off Kelly's grip, looked down at her eager eyes, and frowned, "Sorry, I don't think we'd get along."
Kelly seemed like a loose cannon, always speaking without thinking. Scarlett didn't have anyone like that in her circle.
To be honest, she had no clue how to talk to someone like Kelly.
But Kelly wasn't giving up. She really missed Brooklyn, and even finding someone similar would make her happy!
"Brook—no, Miss, I really want to get to know you. You wouldn't mind one more friend, right? I promise I won't bug you too much. I just want to chat more. Your voice reminds me of Brooklyn!"
Kelly just wanted to know her in the memory of someone else? That was a slap in the face. Scarlett didn't want to be anyone's stand-in.
"Sorry, please let go." Scarlett calmly looked at the hands gripping her arm and said softly.
Kelly bit her lip, almost tearing up, "I'm serious. Here, take my business card. It has my number, Facebook, and WhatsApp. If you don't want to give me your number, can I add you on WhatsApp? Or..."
Scarlett glanced at the colorful business card and reluctantly agreed, "Alright, give me your account, and I'll add you."
Kelly was holding on to her so tight, and that was why Scarlett gave in; if they didn't exchange contact, this strange girl might just sit on the ground and refuse to get up.
Scarlett pulled out her phone and said, "Done."
Kelly looked at Scarlett with admiration. She was so cool and confident. When she first met Brooklyn, it was that same vibe that drew her in.
"Scarlett, you really have such a strong presence."
Scarlett stayed silent.
"Can I contact you in the future? I promise I won't bother you too much!" Kelly added.
Still, Scarlett said nothing.
Even after Scarlett walked away, Kelly was still staring at her back in a daze. God was so good to her, giving her a chance to meet someone like Brooklyn.
Scarlett took a deep breath, looking at her arm that had just been grabbed. She was surprised. She usually hated being touched, but although Kelly's grip made her uncomfortable, it was only physically, but not mentally..
Shaking her head, Scarlett continued shopping.
She couldn't spend the whole day at the mall. After buying clothes and shoes, she left. She hadn't driven here, so she went outside and hailed a cab.
The driver stopped and asked, "Miss, where to?"
Scarlett looked inside the car. It was pretty new and clean. "I want to hire your car for the day. Just follow me around, let me put my things in, and take me home at five. What's the price?"
The driver was stunned, "Miss, we don't usually do that."
"Then make an exception. How much?" Scarlett said.
The driver was puzzled. But judging her attire and demeanor, he did not think she was joking. "Alright, I won't overcharge. I'll charge you my daily earnings, one hundred and fifty dollars."
"Okay, I'll give you two hundred dollars." Scarlett nodded.
The driver was even more stunned, "Really?"
Scarlett took out some bills from her wallet, "Here's one hundred dollars. I'll give you the other hundred when we're done."
"Alright!"
Leaving Global Mall, Scarlett went to Aucester's largest tech exhibition center. She wanted to learn about the country bit by bit.
After the exhibition, she decided to visit the history museum. She wandered through its halls, captivated by the rich tapestry of Libertya's past. She couldn't resist purchasing a few books to delve deeper into the country's fascinating story.
By the time she emerged from the museum, it was exactly five o'clock. Outside, her driver was slumped in his seat, fast asleep. She chuckled softly at the sight before gently tapping on the window to wake him.
The driver jolted awake, rubbing his eyes as if trying to comprehend what had happened—Scarlett had spent an entire day in such a boring place. How could anyone find that place interesting enough to lose track of time like that?
When the driver dropped Scarlett off at the villa, he realized that asking for two hundred dollars was too stupid! Scarlett lived in such a luxurious villa, she must be one of Aucester's top wealthy people!
It was six o'clock when Scarlett arrived. She searched for some recipes on the computer and printed them out in Sebastian's study.
