Chapter 75 What Good Deed Did You Do Last Night?

Piper thought, 'It was Zach. How did they end up together? He just said he had work to do, so is his so-called work in the cardiology department? But what about the late-night snacks glaring on the table? He said he doesn't eat late-night snack; undoubtedly, the food was bought by Brooklyn.'

Obviously, Brooklyn used this as an excuse to keep him.

If it was really as Megan said, Sebastian hardly touch her, treating her as just a decoration at home, her status in the Kingsley family is just a sign of being a lonely widow.

Therefore, this lonely woman must be trying to seduce men, and Zach, with impeccable qualities in all aspects, is naturally her first choice!
Piper cursed in her mind, 'Damn Brooklyn, this married woman actually seduced Zach! You're asking for trouble!'

Piper gritted her teeth and took out her phone, taking numerous photos of the two of them in seemingly intimate poses.

Brooklyn held a pen, her clear eyes fixed on Zach, "What does this mean?"

Zach had one hand in his pocket, and with the other hand, he took a professional book from her desk and flipped through it, "Late-night snack, Brooklyn, not familiar with it?"

She frowned, "You know I didn't mean that."

Zach smiled faintly, "What is Dr. Mitchell thinking? Suspecting the sincerity of the new deputy dean's concern for his subordinates? Or is the late-night snack I bought not to your taste?"

Brooklyn flipped through a book, nodded without looking at him, "Mr. Carter, I think it's better for us to keep our distance."

Zach naturally glanced at her hand, noticing she wasn't wearing a wedding ring, and the fact that she was married was unknown to anyone.

Presumably, Dr. Mitchell, who is glamorous and arrogant in public, did not have a happy life.

Zach's heart trembled slightly.

Night shifts are the most tiring. After staying up all night, Brooklyn had two big dark circles under her eyes when she went to the changing room to change clothes.

"It's her, last night..."

She vaguely heard a few nurses discussing something, only catching the first half of the sentence, as the rest was too low for her to hear.

Walking out of the changing room, several nurses were also sneakily watching her, whispering to each other. She couldn't hear what they were saying, but their disdainful eyes were evident.

"Dr. Mitchell."

"Dr. Mitchell, just finished the night shift, huh?"

Passing through the corridor, the nurses politely greeted her, and Brooklyn nodded symbolically, then strode towards the elevator.

"That Dr. Mitchell just now, actually hooking up with our new deputy dean, didn't expect her to be so shameless." A nurse whispered.

As the elevator doors closed, the nurses' criticisms all floated into Brooklyn's ears.

Dragging her exhausted body back home, finding no one there, she noticed a brand new ladies' handbag on the living room table, with the logo of Hermes on the zipper.

She had just finished a night shift, and he couldn't wait to invite Megan over to spend the night at home. Sebastian, are you that desperate?!

Checking the time, they should have already left.

Suppressing the pain and irritation in her heart, she walked upstairs, pushed open the door to the master bedroom, and froze.

On the large bed in the master bedroom, Sebastian lazily lay under the covers, sunlight streaming through the window falling on his handsome face, his eyebrows slightly furrowing upon hearing the door open.

Her fingers and footsteps froze simultaneously, staring absentmindedly at the man on the bed, every muscle in her body tensing up.

The figure under the covers moved slightly, looking weary and seemingly disdainful of her presence, "Brooklyn, you're getting bolder."

Brooklyn's feet hesitated, her mouth opened, "I didn't know you were home."

She thought, 'Wasn't he on a business trip? How did he come back so soon?'

She was about to close the door when Sebastian on the bed sneered, "Didn't know I was home, or hoped I wasn't home?"

Gritting her teeth, Brooklyn said, "Think whatever you want! I'm tired and don't want to argue with you."

Turning to leave, Sebastian forcefully threw off the covers. His long legs stepped in front of her in an imposing manner, an undeniable powerful aura pressing down like the Grim Reaper!

"Or maybe, you wish the man lying here wasn't me!" With a sharp command, his bloodthirsty eyes stirred up a storm, his iron-like hand firmly gripping her jaw, squeezing hard!

Her jaw stung, the pain making her face pale.

"Sebastian, what's gotten into you? Let go!"

"Brooklyn, you're asking for trouble! You're damn asking for trouble!"

Her jaw throbbed, completely unaware of what had gotten into Sebastian. She shouted, "Let go!"

Sebastian's chest was filled with raging anger, his brows furrowed tightly into a knot, "What good deed did you do last night!"

Brooklyn tried her best to pry open his grip with both hands, but the strength difference was too great, and her struggles were in vain.

"Cough... cough... Sebastian... let go..."

"Speak! What did you do last night?"

He yanked her arm fiercely, tossing her around in the bedroom, and she crashed heavily onto the bed.

"Thud!" Her body hit the bed, her bones aching all over, almost falling apart from the impact.

Pushing herself up with one hand, she yelled at him, "Sebastian! Are you nuts? I was on a night shift! What could I possibly do at the hospital!"
