Chapter 539 Scheming Sebastian, Business Expert

The crowd in the grand ballroom scattered, leaving the once lavish wedding ceremony a laughingstock across Aucester and even the entire country.

It was truly a sad and pitiful sight.

With a sigh, Brooklyn suddenly thought of Quinn.

She scanned the few remaining people in the room but couldn't find him.

A strong sense of unease gripped her.

Brooklyn realized that something must have happened to Quinn.

His car had collided with Marc's, and Marc had since left the scene.

There was something wrong.

"Darling, Quinn's been gone for almost an hour. I think Marc took him."

Sebastian's eyes darkened, though he remained composed. "I'll have someone look into it. There's no direct grudge between Marc and Quinn. He probably just wanted to get Quinn out of the way so he couldn't stand up for you."

Brooklyn thought that was likely, but she couldn't shake her worry. "We should check. Marc is capable of anything."

Sebastian squeezed her hand.

It was only then that he noticed how cold her fingers were, like icy jade.

He frowned immediately.

"Are you cold? Why are your hands so cold?"

His deep voice, tinged with concern, made Brooklyn's heart flutter.

She touched her fingers. "They do feel a bit cold, but I'm not cold. It's nothing."

Despite her reassurances, Sebastian touched her forehead to check her temperature. It was normal. "You must be too tense."

It wasn't that cold yet, and Brooklyn was wearing a dress with a shawl over her shoulders. Her hands and feet should have been warm.

Sebastian thought for a moment and realized it wasn't the time for her period. Still worried, he unbuttoned his suit jacket and draped it over her shoulders, enveloping her in his warmth and scent.

He held her shoulders and smiled indulgently. "Wear this, just in case."

With his jacket around her, Brooklyn felt a warmth spread through her.

She looked up at him, their eyes meeting in a moment of shared tenderness. "It's not that easy to get sick this time of year, and I'm pretty healthy. Don't forget that I'm a professional doctor."

"Yes, you're a senior specialist at that. But even the best doctors need their husbands to take care of them."

His dark, wise eyes seemed to see right through her.

Brooklyn raised an eyebrow and obediently agreed. "Alright, I'll listen to you. But right now, the most important thing is Quinn. Ophelia took Susie, and I'm worried about what Marc might do."

Sebastian's hand on her shoulder tightened as he guided her forward. "I'll have Owen take you home. You need to rest. Leave the rest to me."

Brooklyn nodded, then thought of something else. "Home? Which home? I've been staying at The Kingsley Villa. Shouldn't I go back there first?"

Sebastian's brow furrowed again at the mention of The Kingsley Villa. "Darling, we only have one home. Where do you think?"

Brooklyn leaned into him, smiling softly. "Got it. I'll wait for you at home."

They only had one home.

The Kingsley family villa, no matter how luxurious, was just a house, not their home.

"Sebastian! Why didn't you let us know you were coming back? We could have prepared a proper welcome!"

As they were about to leave, Donny and Amarantha approached, greeting them warmly as if they hadn't just been slandering Brooklyn at the party.

Brooklyn watched them silently, leaning against Sebastian.

Sebastian gave them a lazy glance. "Do I need to inform you when I come back? No need for a welcome. We're not going to The Kingsley Villa."

Amarantha smiled nervously. "If you're not going to the villa, where are you going?"

Sebastian gave her an impatient look. "Home."

With that, he turned and left, leaving the two of them standing there, stunned.

Sebastian personally escorted Brooklyn to the car. He leaned in through the back door. "Rest well. I'll be home soon."

"Okay!"

As Owen drove away, Sebastian turned and walked in the opposite direction.

The moment he turned, his previously gentle expression turned cold and stern. His dark eyes focused ahead, and the air around him seemed to swirl into a vortex.

Sebastian clenched his fists in his pockets, his sharp gaze making those who saw him shudder.

Dario approached, putting away his phone. "Mr. Kingsley, I've spoken to all the reporters. Not a single photo of Mrs. Kingsley will be released."

Sebastian nodded. "Good." His tone was curt, indicating his foul mood.

Brandon and Bianca approached, speaking almost in unison. "What do we do now?"

They glanced at each other, and Bianca glared at Brandon. "What's the rush?"

Brandon gritted his teeth.

Sebastian ignored their bickering and spoke slowly but firmly. "Isn't Simon facing a financial shortfall?"

Brandon smacked his lips. "Yeah, and he's been hiding it from Megan. It's a big gap. He probably planned to use the Turner Group to bail himself out after the wedding. The amount he needs is huge, and the Turner Group would have to cover a lot."

Sebastian's lips curled into a cold smile. "The Turner Group has decades of assets. One financial gap won't sink it." He glanced at the large wedding photo still in the ballroom. "How many Turner Group shares do you have?"

Brandon thought for a moment. He had shares in several major families and other well-known companies. "I'm not sure of the exact number."

"Sell them all immediately. If you wait, you won't get your money back."

Brandon's eyes widened. "Is it that serious? If Simon has a financial gap, selling Turner Group shares seems roundabout."

Sebastian chuckled. "After today, Simon's financial gap will widen. His bank credit will collapse. What do you think he'll do?"

"Right! He'll have to extract funds from the Turner Group, maybe even drag it down!" Brandon exclaimed, as if a light bulb had gone off.

Bianca rolled her eyes. "Even an idiot could figure that out. Mr. Hernandez, it took you long enough!"

Sebastian added, "Don't blame Brandon. Simon's credit collapse is thanks to James."

James, leaning against a car, waved. "No problem! Just doing my part."

Sebastian gave him a sidelong glance. "Dario, prepare the documents. I want to buy the Turner Group."

"What?"

"It's going bankrupt, and you want to buy it? That's a money pit!"

"Don't be rash, Sebastian! The Turner Group's reputation is in tatters. Buying it is like buying a bottomless pit."

"Mr. Kingsley, are you buying the Turner Group for yourself or MBK? The MBK board won't agree."

Brandon and James both voiced their concerns.

The Turner Group seemed like a mess, yet Sebastian wanted to buy it.

Sebastian's smile was inscrutable. "The Turner Group controls ten percent of Aucester's building materials market. MBK's real estate division buys a lot of materials from them every year. Why not buy the Turner Group to serve MBK?"

Brandon rubbed his nose. "But your father..."

Sebastian's eyes darkened, his tall figure shrouded in a cold mist. "I don't need his approval. The Turner Group will be under the Mitchell Group, with Brooklyn as the legal representative."

Brandon found his voice. "You mean, buy the Turner Group under the Mitchell Group and give it to your wife?"

Sebastian nodded. "Of course. MBK will continue to buy materials from the Turner Group. No matter who owns it, the Turner Group will make a lot of money from MBK. Keeping it in the family, so to speak."

James clapped. "Brilliant! MBK's money flows into the Mitchell Group, from your pocket to your wife's. Even though it's all in the family..."

James lowered his voice. "Brooklyn is not directly tied to the Kingsley family. If your father gives you trouble, you can keep your hands clean."

Sebastian didn't give them a chance to gossip further. "Brandon, sell all Turner Group shares. Other shareholders will follow suit. Simon will need to liquidate. I want the Turner Group to change hands."

"Got it!"

Bianca said, "Mrs. Brooklyn asked you to find Mr. Quinn Kingsley."

Finally, someone remembered poor Quinn.

Sebastian checked his watch. "No need. He's safe. Someone's already looking for him."

Brandon looked around. None of their team had left.

"Who went? Did you send someone?"

"No, I saw Arabella's car following Marc's. She should have found Quinn by now. If she's smart, it won't take long."

He had seen Arabella's car chasing after Quinn. She should have succeeded by now.

Brandon choked. "Alright, alright. You're the boss. I'll go sell the Turner Group shares before the market closes. Who knows how much they'll drop tomorrow!"

In his black suit, Brandon waved and left.

He suddenly turned back. "Mr. Kingsley, the new guy at the Mitchell Group, Peregrine, is amazing! His skills are incredible!"

Bianca smirked. "Crushed you, huh? Congratulations!"

Brandon's car sped away.

James approached. "Mr. Kingsley, what should I do now?"

"You? Megan was taken to the hospital. As her cousin, shouldn't you visit? Buy some flowers and check on her."

"No way! I'm not going!" James didn't want any ties to Megan. He didn't even want to hear her name.

"Oh? You won't listen to me?"
