Chapter 502 Quinn, You Big-Ass Jerk

The sudden death of the patient was definitely suspicious. After Sebastian's analysis, Zach felt even more uneasy. Given the history and unresolved conflicts between Sebastian and Simon, if he ended up taking the fall for this mess, the latter would definitely not let it go. This incident would surely lead to bigger problems.

As Zach thought it over, a chill ran down his spine. This trap was too vast and too deep.

Seeing the changes in Zach's expression, Sebastian suddenly smiled nonchalantly. "So, still think being a doctor who saves lives is a good thing?"

Zach also smiled. "Compared to the cutthroat world of business, being a doctor is definitely a better choice."

Sebastian's lips curled slightly, but he didn't respond. Instead, he looked out the window at the scenery. The high status, the dominance over the land, the powerful presence—all these came with a high price that few knew about.

Zach joined him in looking out at the clear sky, feeling the loneliness of being at the top. After a while, he said, "If someone is indeed behind this, they probably won't agree to an autopsy. When that happens..."

Sebastian scoffed coldly. "Agree or not, it's not up to them."

Less than a minute after Sebastian said this, his phone rang.

Seeing the name on the screen, Sebastian's smile took on a regal air. "How's it going?"

Dario replied, "We've communicated with them. The coroner is heading to the Aucester Hospital. Whether they agree or not, the procedure must be followed. The team will arrive in half an hour."

"Good. Inform the hospital to be ready."

"Yes, boss."

Efficiently reporting the situation, Dario then turned to Police Chief Thorne Blackwood. "Thank you for personally handling this."

Thorne, even more courteous, smiled. "It's my honor to assist Mr. Kingsley. Please convey to Mr. Kingsley that we will handle this promptly. If someone is causing trouble, we will not tolerate it."

Dario smiled politely but distantly. As an assistant, he represented his boss's image, and he did this quite well. "Thank you. I will pass on the message."

Thorne, still uneasy, asked, "So, can we now disperse the crowd blocking the hospital entrance? I heard Mrs. Kingsley is also at the Aucester Hospital, and it wouldn't be good to disturb her rest."

Dario replied, "Not for now. We'll contact you if needed."

"Of course."

Dario added, "You're busy, so I won't take up more of your time."

"Mr. Klein, let me see you out."

"Please, there's no need."

"Alright... safe travels, Mr. Klein."

This seemingly simple yet intricate conversation and farewell revealed the power dynamics. Thorne, a leading figure in his district, was so deferential to Sebastian's assistant, which was quite telling.

After courteously seeing Dario off, the police mobilized. Three police cars, accompanied by several military doctors, made their way to the hospital, creating a deliberate spectacle.

Sebastian was a significant figure, and anyone who could connect with him would want to seize the opportunity.

Arabella, having finished her cases, hurried to the VIP ward to check on Brooklyn.

When she arrived, she saw three incredibly handsome men inside. Sebastian, of course, needed no introduction. Every time Arabella saw him, she couldn't help but feel a bit inferior. Zach, on the other hand, made her reluctant to wash her hands after shaking his.

But when her gaze fell on Quinn, her expression changed. She clenched her fists and gritted her teeth.

Quinn waved at her. "Hey, country girl, you finally came to see your boss. Your boss has been lying here for so long, and you just now decided to show up?"

Country girl?

Zach found the nickname amusing.

Arabella was seething. Damn, all the effort she put into maintaining a good image in front of Zach was about to be ruined by Quinn's big mouth.

"Mr. Kingsley, I didn't expect to see you here. What an honor!" Arabella pretended not to know Quinn well, not wanting to waste words on him.

She wanted to distance herself from their awkward relationship, which was too embarrassing to explain.

"If I weren't here, how would you see me today? Without seeing me, how would you earn extra money? Without extra money, how would you pay off your debts?"

Quinn's casual tone and smug smile made Arabella want to punch him.

At that moment, Arabella was filled with the urge to punch Quinn. Damn, he was too much!

Sure enough, before Arabella could retort, the others in the room were already looking at them. Brooklyn asked curiously, "Debts? Dr. Warner has debts?"

Zach also inquired, "Dr. Warner, are you having financial difficulties? If so, we can help."

Arabella wished she could find a hole to crawl into, dragging Quinn with her.

Quinn, arms crossed, looked at Arabella with an increasingly arrogant smile. "No need to ask. If you ask too much, Dr. Warner might not be able to stay at the Aucester Hospital. Some things are best left between us."

Why did it seem like Quinn's explanation was making things worse? It felt like he was deliberately smearing her, deepening the misunderstanding.

Damn! What a schemer!

Quinn checked the time and then cheerfully said, "Sis, bro, I'll leave this to you. I'm starving and need to grab a bite."

With that, Quinn took a big step and grabbed Arabella's hand.

He intended to grab her wrist, but Arabella, seeing his hand reaching for her, jerked away, only to end up placing her hand in his.

Quinn felt a sudden warmth in his hand as he held Arabella's soft, delicate hand. The unfamiliar yet comfortable touch startled him.

Arabella gritted her teeth and stomped her foot. "Mr. Kingsley, what do you mean by this?"

Damn it!

Quinn had grabbed the hand that Zach had touched, the hand she didn't want to wash, and now it was tainted by Quinn!

This feud just got bigger.

"Mr. Kingsley, do you want to die?" Arabella, if not for the presence of important people, would have torn him apart!

Quinn quickly let go of her hand. "Sorry! Did I step on your paw?"

"You dare insult me!"

"So what? I did."

"Just you wait!"

The two chased each other out of the room, and soon the sounds of their scuffle echoed down the hallway.

The three people left in the room exchanged glances, smiling knowingly like adults watching children play.

Brooklyn, seeing Arabella and Quinn's antics, remembered Zach's date and asked, "How was your date last night? What was she like?"

Sebastian looked at Zach, curious. So he went on a date?

An interesting experience.

Zach didn't know where to start. He wished he could treat it all as a dream. "I met her. It was okay."

Brooklyn nodded, her eyes scanning Zach. "No unusual incidents?"

Like someone causing trouble.

Unusual incidents? There were plenty last night.

"There were quite a few, but I handled them. It went smoothly in the end." Zach's face showed he didn't want to recall it.

Brooklyn's eyes sparkled with intelligence. "You didn't see Dr. Warner?"

"Huh? Dr. Warner? What about her?" Zach glanced outside. Arabella was gone.

"Nothing. She seemed to be there last night, too. You must have missed each other." Deep in thought, Brooklyn considered that Zach's date might have gone well if he hadn't met Arabella.

And Arabella? Did she have a run-in with Quinn last night?

If so, this was getting interesting.

"Oh, Mr. Kingsley, you're here too. I hope I'm not interrupting."

George hurried in, followed by several senior staff members, all in white coats, their attitudes respectful.

Sebastian's face remained impassive. "What's the matter?"

"The police are here to perform an autopsy on the deceased. I thought... maybe you and Dr. Mitchell should be present?"

Sebastian's gaze turned icy, scaring George into a nervous smile. "I'll go check it out then. I won't disturb you here."

Zach stepped in to ease the tension. "I'll go with you, Dr. Clark."

"Alright, Dr. Carter, you can come along."

Brooklyn straightened up. "Dr. Clark, please let me see the autopsy report first. My reputation is at stake, and I want to know the results as soon as possible."

"Of course! Don't worry."

After they left, Brooklyn, still smiling, looked at Sebastian's stern face and couldn't help but laugh. "You scare George with that stern look. He goes weak in the knees when he sees you."

Sebastian responded indifferently, "With such poor mental strength, how can he lead you? I think you should switch roles. How about you become the director?"

"Don't be ridiculous. I don't want to be a leader. Being a doctor is enough."

Sebastian tucked her in, doting on her. "You're not just any doctor. You're a savior to many."

Kelly peeked in, seeing them talking sweetly, and didn't dare interrupt. She decided to wait outside.

As she prepared to enter, a stern, emotionless male voice startled her. "Who are you? What are you doing here?"

Kelly clutched her chest. "Oh my God! You scared me! Why are you shouting? You..." She looked up at the source of the voice and froze.
