Chapter 205 No More Waiting, Sebastian Is Going to Confess

'Jennifer made me get a divorce. She should at least give me a reason.' Brooklyn frowned.

"Why do you want us to divorce?" Brooklyn asked Jennifer. Jennifer rarely meddled in Brooklyn and Sebastian's relationship, but today, she dropped a bombshell.

"It's simple. Sebastian doesn't like you, I don't like you, and your family's always on the brink of bankruptcy. You have no right to be with the Kingsleys."

Her words cut deep.

"Also, the Kingsleys have chosen Megan as Sebastian's wife. They've known each other for years, and you messed it up. You're the third wheel. Step aside and let them be happy."

Brooklyn's heart sank.

'So, I was never good enough for the Kingsleys? And I am the one ruining their happiness? It turns out I should step aside.'

Brooklyn held back tears and smiled, "I won't make things hard for him. I'll get a divorce."

"Good."

As Jennifer was about to leave, Brooklyn handed her the bank card back, "I'll get a divorce, but I won't take this money. You can have it back."

Jennifer sneered, "Are you hoping for compensation from my son when you divorce?"

Brooklyn's heart ached. "I was with him because I love him, not for money."

"Give me a break. Take the card, and we can both be at ease."

If Brooklyn took the money, there'd be no turning back, and Jennifer wouldn't worry anymore.

So, Brooklyn walked out of the café, tears still fresh, and saw Sebastian's number calling. The pain almost made her faint.

"Let's meet after work tonight."

"What's going on?"

"Do I need a reason to see you?"

She fell silent for a moment before responding, "Okay."

Jennifer had just forced her to get a divorce, and now Sebastian was calling. 'I have to face this today, right?'

Gathering her thoughts, Brooklyn responded calmly, "Where?"

"Earl's Restaurant?" Sebastian remembered Brooklyn liked sirloin steak, and Earl's had the best.

"No need, just come to my apartment. You know the address."

Sebastian was surprised. Brooklyn just invited him home. 'Did she want to reconcile?'

At MBK International Building, President's Office, Sebastian's wrist relaxed, his phone sliding onto the desk, almost showing his good mood.

He wanted to save this relationship, and she extended an olive branch. Warmth filled his chest, and he smiled.

Dario entered. "Boss, you need me?"

Sebastian tapped the desk. "Cancel all my plans for tonight. I'm going somewhere."

Dario leaned in. "Do you have an event tonight, boss?"

"Yes."

Dario was puzzled. 'An event? I didn't see anything scheduled. Did I miss something important?'

"Okay, boss. Do you need any preparations?"

"Go to Kerry Wheeler's studio and have her pick out a suitable gift for a woman," Sebastian said casually.

Dario was stunned. 'A gift? For which woman? It couldn't be Megan, right?' In all the time he worked for the boss, he had never seen him pick out a gift for Megan. She usually just took what she wanted.

Thinking back, it seemed Megan didn't mean much to the boss; she was the one chasing him.

"Yes, boss. I'll go to Kerry's studio first and then come to pick you up." Dario guessed the gift was probably for Brooklyn.

He felt a bit happy inside.
