Chapter 333 He's Here

Zach took a deep breath, pulling his hand back as his shoulders rose and fell with a sigh. "He's on his way. The private jet they mentioned earlier? It's Sebastian's. He's en route and about to touch down."

"Wait, Sebastian's heading our way!?" Brooklyn's coat slipped off her shoulders as she shook it off, grabbing Zach's arms with both hands, her eyes sparkling with excitement.

One couldn't hide love for someone, that was for sure.

"Yeah, he's en route. Are you happy?" Zach asked.

'Happy? Of course, I'm!' she thought.

"That idiot, how could he possibly endure a twenty to thirty-hour flight? Is he crazy? That idiot must be crazy!" Brooklyn cursed.

Zach stayed silent.

"Where is he now? Where's the plane landing?" she asked.

Zach stayed quiet, confused by her erratic emotions. He thought, 'She's truly happy, even if it comes with scolding. If she's happy, I'm content.'

"About half an hour more. Private jets can choose their routes. He took the shortest one and got here in just over ten hours. The plane will land on the helipad over by the cliff," Zach said.

'A helipad on the cliff?' she thought.

Noticing her puzzled expression, he clarified, "That helipad was put there for a reason, but it's been around for a while."

Brooklyn bit her lip. "Zach, I owe you big time in this life"

He smiled. "He's almost here. Aren't you going? If you don't go now, I won't let you leave."

Her eyes sparkled with starlight. "Thanks, Zach. You'll be happier than me!"

Brooklyn grabbed an umbrella and headed in the direction he pointed, her steps light, wishing she could leap to his side in one step!

'Sebastian, I'm not sick. We can be together and happy! I'm not afraid of your father. I'm not afraid of anything!' she thought.

Brooklyn climbed the stone steps in the pouring rain and finally stood on the helipad.

Despite the heavy rain soaking her clothes and leaving her disheveled, she gazed up, her heart brimming with unblocked happiness. But she waited for a full twenty minutes, and still, there was no sign of the plane.

'Wasn't it meant to be thirty minutes? It's already been thirty,' she wondered.

"Dr. Mitchell, Dr. Mitchell! Something's wrong!" Just as she was wondering, Jenny Elliott came running over in a panic, gasping for breath.

"What's up? What's wrong with the patient?" Brooklyn asked.

Jenny clutched her chest, panting. "No, not the patient. We just heard that Mr. Kingsley's private jet crashed in the rain! We just got the news! You need to go back now!"

'What?' The umbrella slipped from her hand, and Brooklyn took a big step back, thinking, 'Impossible! I don't believe it!'

"Don't try to fool me! How could he crash? He's Sebastian! Get out. Get away from me!" Brooklyn shouted, her mind racing, 'Don't lie to me anymore! I don't want to hear any more lies and any more bad news!'

Jenny stepped forward and grabbed her hand, causing Brooklyn to instinctively step back. "Dr. Mitchell, it's true. The rescue has already started. Several people from our hospital have been sent to help. Don't worry. Maybe Mr. Kingsley is lucky, Dr. Mitchell."

Brooklyn grabbed her collar. "What the heck are you saying! Get out! Get away from me!"

Jenny glanced at the cliff behind them and gently coaxed, "Dr. Mitchell, they say Mr. Kingsley's plane crashed nearby, probably in this valley!"

Brooklyn turned around, and the sight took her breath away!

When did she get to the edge of the valley! One more step forward, and she would fall into an abyss!

"Ms. Elliott, what are you doing!" Brooklyn grabbed her wrist and shouted sternly!

Jenny smiled slightly and let go of her hand. "Dr. Mitchell, Mr. Kingsley crashed, and we don't know if he's okay. Shouldn't you go check it out now?"

Brooklyn suddenly realized that Jenny wasn't just delivering a message; she had another purpose! "Let go! Jenny, let go of me!"

"Let go? It's too late, Dr. Mitchell. Someone wants you dead. Guess who it is?"

Brooklyn felt like she was struck by lightning. 'Who! Piper?'

Brooklyn pushed Jenny away with a slap and took a big step forward. If she fell off the cliff, she would really be dead.

Jenny got up from the ground, closed the umbrella, and aimed the sharp end at Brooklyn's chest, stabbing down hard!

A sharp pain in her abdomen, Brooklyn stumbled again, forced to the edge of the cliff! She grabbed the umbrella and pulled it forward!

Jenny, not as strong as her, was directly pulled to the ground! "Brooklyn, you don't deserve to live! You don't deserve to be Sebastian's wife, nor do you deserve to be with Dr. Carter! You're just a worthless bitch!"

'How dare you insult me!' Brooklyn thought as she stepped forward.

But Jenny clung to one of her legs, causing her to lose balance and fall heavily to the ground! "Brooklyn, go to hell!"
