Chapter 167 She Can't Be in Trouble

Sebastian's long and clean hand gripped the phone so tightly that he almost bent the small metal device, but what he really wanted to break was the person who had harmed Brooklyn!

He was furious. This time, Sebastian was determined to slaughter the person who had poisoned Brooklyn!

Dario arrived at the bar and was informed that the bar's surveillance equipment had malfunctioned the previous night, so there was no video footage.

"Give me all the records of the POS machine transactions, all of them," Dario demanded.

Wherever Dario went, it was clear who he represented, but the bar had its own rules about disclosing customer information...

"Mr. Klein, we are in a difficult position with this matter. If the customers find out that we disclosed their information without permission, it might be hard for us to do business in the future," the manager replied.

Dario's thin lips lifted as he glanced coldly at him. The chill in the corner of his mouth was not as cold as Sebastian's, but it was enough. "In that case, I don't think you'll be doing business anymore."

With that, Dario was about to make a call. In Aucester, Sebastian didn't need to get his hands dirty to shut down a bar.

"Just a moment. Mr. Klein, this way, but please keep it between us..." the manager added.

"You talk too much." With a cold remark, Dario made the bar manager zip.

Having the transaction records was only a small lead since the perpetrator might not have been among those who made transactions, so the situation remained mysterious.

Dario drafted a list of the transactions and handed it to Sebastian, who lightly tapped his fingers on the table. After reviewing it, Sebastian furrowed his brow. "This range is too broad with the low efficiency."

Carefully serving Sebastian, Dario asked, "What's your plan, Mr. Kingsley?"

Sebastian dropped the printout, standing tall and straight by the floor-to-ceiling window in the CEO's office of the MBK Building. The buildings of Aucester lay beneath his feet. Sebastian's gaze searched in several directions, trying to uncover the perpetrator.

"Wait, let the target come to us," Sebastian replied.

"Sir. Whoever poisoned Ms. Mitchell and succeeded must have been in the thin air by now. How can we expect the perpetrator to show up again?" Dario asked.

Sebastian's thin lips curled up slightly, and his enigmatic eyes shone with a sharp brilliance. "Do as I say. It will happen."

After listening to Sebastian's instructions, Dario suddenly lit up his eyes. "Great plan. I'll go execute it now."

A cold mist sprayed from the back of Sebastian's upright hand. Suddenly, he made another call.

"Prepare the car, go to the hospital," Sebastian demanded.

Brooklyn had been unconscious for over three hours and finally woke up.

Brooklyn slowly opened her eyes and saw a tall figure. It was a man standing with his back to her, dressed in a well-ironed black suit and black trousers. That was a figure as upright as a mountain peak.

'Sebastian? Has he been waiting here the whole time?' Brooklyn was lost in thoughts.

Brooklyn's throat was dry, and she swallowed, "Why are you here?"

Upon hearing her wake up, Sebastian didn't immediately turn around. In fact, he couldn't bring himself to face her, afraid that seeing her exhausted appearance would make him unable to hold back his emotions.

"I'll call the doctor," Sebastian replied.

Sebastian's voice was cold and almost devoid of emotion. No matter how carefully one listened, there was no hint of concern.

A bitter taste surged in Brooklyn's heart. "Thank you."

It was a polite phrase that distanced the two of them.

Before Sebastian could leave, Zach entered, followed by several doctors. Since it was during working hours, wherever Zach went, there were inevitably people following him.

Seeing Brooklyn awake, Zach breathed a sigh of relief. The clean and well-fitted white uniform he wore looked surprisingly good on him. It was only today that Brooklyn noticed how striking Dr. Carter stood out among the crowd.

"Sorry for your trouble, Dr. Carter," Brooklyn said.

"Not at all. How do you feel now? Is your stomach still hurting? Any more burning sensation? I gave you a detox enhancer this morning, which might cause dizziness and a scratchy throat, but don't worry. It will disappear in a few hours," Zach explained.

Brooklyn couldn't help but laugh. Zach's tone just now sounded like he was talking to a child.

"It doesn't hurt anymore. I'm fine." She replied, because Sebastian was still in the room.

"That's good!" A smile replaced the tension on Zach's face.

One of the doctors behind him chuckled, "Dr. Mitchell, when Dr. Carter was doing his rounds just now, he was in such a rush that he practically flew through the patients, even ignoring Dr. Clark's call. He came straight from the inpatient department."

Moved and guilty, Brooklyn said, "Thank you."

"That's all right." Zach glanced at Sebastian's poker face out of the corner of his eye and said to Brooklyn, "You're a valuable asset to the hospital. Get better now. The hospital needs you."

Sebastian remained expressionless, but a wave of anger surged inside him. Finally, the anger condensed into a sentence. "Since Dr. Carter is so busy, why don't you leave?"

And just like that, Sebastian drove Zach away.

It really suited the style of Sebastian.

Turning back to Brooklyn, Sebastian changed his icy and handsome face to darkness. "What? Can't you wait to divorce me to throw yourself into his arms?" Sebastian sneered.

Brooklyn couldn't be bothered to deal with him!

"Sebastian, you're overthinking it. I want a divorce. It has nothing to do with anyone else," Brooklyn retorted.

"I see. Maybe I underestimate it! You can even flirt with him in front of me. What about you're doing when I'm not around? Did you crawl into his bed?" Sebastian asked with anger.

"Nonsense! You're slandering me." Brooklyn was overwhelmed by irritation.

In the midst of the tension, Sebastian's phone rang. It was a call from Dario.

"Mr. Kingsley, it's ready," Dario said.

Looking at the stubborn Brooklyn lying on the bed, Sebastian turned cold. "I need insurance. Make sure nothing happens to her. She can't be in trouble."

Dear CEO, Please Be Gentle!
