Chapter 390 The Villain Takes Scarlett's Blood Sample

That afternoon, Kelly's father was admitted to the ward, and the Wilson family once again expressed their gratitude to Scarlett. Kelly, in particular, treated Scarlett like a savior, holding onto her tightly.

"I have another surgery to perform. Stay here and accompany your father. If you need anything, contact the doctors. They won't ignore you." Scarlett said to Kelly.

"Having a friend in the hospital really makes things easier. Brooklyn, no, Scarlett, thank you. It's all thanks to you that my dad was saved. Once he's better, our whole family will thank you personally." Kelly was moved.

Scarlett didn't linger. After giving instructions to the attending physician, she returned to the cardiothoracic department to prepare for surgery.

Lisa and Cory were already waiting outside the operating room. When they saw Scarlett approaching, they teased her with smiles, "Scarlett, you're amazing. We don't even see any reports about you anymore. But you're already so famous that people are talking about you even when shopping at the supermarket."

Scarlett shrugged, "As long as there are no more news reports, people will soon forget about me. Alright, how's the patient?"

Cory reported the patient's condition, "Scarlett, this female patient is very emotionally unstable right now. She's very resistant to the surgery, afraid she would die during the operation table. What should we do?"

Before Scarlett could respond, Samantha arrived. "This female patient was recently dumped by her boyfriend. She already has a heart condition, and after being agitated, her condition became even more unstable. Yesterday, she almost committed suicide in her hospital room. Scarlett, you need to be mentally prepared; this patient might very well die on the operating table."

Scarlett's clear and resolute gaze met Samantha's, her determination unshakable. "Dr. Scott, are you suggesting we shouldn't perform the surgery?"

"Of course not. Besides, since she was transferred to the special project ward, she's your patient now." Samantha smiled lightly, shifting all the responsibility onto Scarlett.

Everyone knew that if the surgery failed and the doctor treated the patient to death, it would result in a loss of reputation and status.

Scarlett's gaze turned cold and stern. "Since the surgery must be done and she's my patient, Dr. Scott, you don't need to worry."

Samantha chuckled. She couldn't stand how Scarlett had parachuted into Aucester Hospital and effortlessly garnered the admiration of all the doctors! She had been suppressed by Brooklyn at Aucester Hospital, and just when she could finally stand on her own, Scarlett appeared!

How much longer would she have to be an assistant! "I just wanted to remind you not to lose the hard-earned reputation you've gained."

Lisa and Cory, seeing Samantha's aggressive expression and Scarlett's increasingly displeased look, could roughly guess what was going on.

Lisa raised her head and said, "Dr. Scott, please leave and don't disturb Scarlett during the surgery."

Samantha pointed to the list of surgical personnel. "Do you think I want to be here? I was assigned to help."

Scarlett frowned. Who assigned her? Her team didn't need such petty and selfish doctors.

She turned and entered the changing room, putting on her surgical gown and washing her hands.

Samantha stood next to her, staring at her hands. Piper had said that Brooklyn couldn't operate because of an injury to her hand. So, how likely was it that Scarlett was Brooklyn?

Lisa handed Scarlett her glasses and adjusted them on her nose. "Scarlett, you look sharp!"

Scarlett smiled, "Just wearing glasses makes me look sharp? I was thinking of getting my vision corrected."

Samantha was surprised to see her wearing gold-rimmed glasses. "You're nearsighted?"

"Not usually, but I need them for surgery. Alright, let's go in." Scarlett replied.

The surgery began, and outside, people were still watching the display screen. As part of Aucester Hospital's research project, all related surgical videos had to be recorded for the hospital's doctors to observe and learn from, and also for future hospital promotions.

The head of cardiothoracic surgery, Lavern Rojas, praised Scarlett and sighed, "Among the young cardiothoracic surgeons I know, only two can remain this calm. Unfortunately..."

George nodded, "Unfortunately, Zach probably doesn't want to return to the hospital now."

Lavern expressed his regret, "If those two could join forces, I think no heart disease could defeat them. I wonder if we can get Zach back."

George patted his shoulder. "Lavern, when Zach left Aucester Hospital, he was determined never to step into an operating room again. I don't think I could bring him back."

Lavern sighed deeply, "What a waste of talent, all because of Brooklyn. Young people is s stubborn."

George's aged face was deeply lined with wrinkles. "Maybe there's a chance to bring him back."

Lavern immediately looked at George with intense interest, and the surrounding doctors gathered around.

"What way?" If they could bring Zach back, Aucester Hospital would be even stronger! With him and Scarlett together, they would be invincible.

George looked at the screen showing Scarlett fully focused on the surgery. "Have Scarlett ask him. With her influence and status in the medical field, if she personally invites Zach, he might agree."

Oh! That's a great idea!

"But how could Scarlett ask?" Lavern was confused.

George smiled meaningfully. "No matter how impressive Scarlett is, she's still young. Young people need a little push, and she's no exception."

What did George mean?

Five hours later, the surgery was successfully completed.

Lisa wiped the sweat from Scarlett's forehead, delighted. "Scarlett, you've created another miracle."

Scarlett glanced at Samantha. "Can you handle the closing?"

Samantha sneered, "Is that a compliment or an insult?"

Scarlett frowned, clearly disliking the attitude. "Can you or not?"

"Of course, I can!" Samantha took Scarlett's place, picking up the needle and thread to start suturing the wound, her heart filled with resentment.

Suddenly, a gush of blood spurted from the patient's body, splattering Samantha's mask and surgical gown.

Samantha was stunned! How could this happen?

Scarlett, who hadn't left the room yet, rushed back upon hearing the commotion. Seeing the wound, her face changed. "How did you suture this? Give the hemostats, needle and thread to me! Now!"

Samantha was angry and frustrated, but she didn't dare to disobey. Reluctantly, she handed the item to Scarlett and stepped aside, glaring at her through gritted teeth.

"Patient's vitals!" Scarlett asked.

"Blood pressure 60 over 85, dropping. Dr. Scott hit an artery." Lisa replied.

Damn!

Scarlett barked, "Adrenaline, 0.0154 pounds, IV push, now!"

Lisa swiftly complied, and after the infusion, the patient's pulse finally stabilized. She let out a long breath, "Oh my! That scared me to death."

Scarlett also exhaled, personally suturing the wound, and scolded, "Dr. Scott, come here and watch closely."

Samantha gritted her teeth and walked over, watching Scarlett's skilled needlework.

She truly hated Scarlett's proficiency, calmness, composure, and elegance!

Outside the video, George sighed, "Who let Samantha into the operating room?"

Lavern replied, "She wasn't originally qualified, but a doctor fell ill last minute, and Dr. Rivera recommended her."

George grumbled discontentedly, "If it weren't for the Scott family's influence, someone with her skills wouldn't even be allowed to stay in the hospital."

After he spoke, no one else dared to say a word.

The crux of the matter was that the Scott family indeed held that kind of influence.

Scarlett successfully sutured the wound, and the surgery was over.

Applause erupted in the operating room.

Samantha, feeling frustrated, stumbled as she pushed tools through the equipment room from behind, accidentally bumping into Scarlett!

Scarlett was hit hard, unable to dodge, and fell backward onto the tool cart, collapsing to the ground!

A scalpel flew out of the unsteady toolbox, slicing Scarlett's left arm as it fell!

Scarlett winced in pain, watching as blood oozed from her arm.

The blue surgical gown was quickly soaked with blood.

Lisa and Cory hurriedly bent down to help Scarlett up, supporting her against Cory's shoulder. They glared at Samantha, "What are you doing!"

Samantha stammered, "I didn't mean to. Hurry and help Scarlett with her wound!"

Lisa bit her lip, her blue eyes tinged with red, "We don't need your help, get out."

Seeing the blood on Scarlett's arm, an idea flashed through Samantha's mind.

What she needed most now was Scarlett's blood!

Ignoring Lisa's sarcasm, Samantha stepped forward to support Scarlett, "I caused your injury, I must bandage it myself! Come with me."

Scarlett frowned, "Dr. Scott, how much more trouble do you want to create? Let go of me!"

Samantha, holding back her frustration, focused on the blood on Scarlett's arm. "Say what you want, but I must bandage your wound."

Scarlett scoffed at Samantha's actions.

After removing her surgical gown, Scarlett grimaced in pain, her arm throbbing. The sharpness of the scalpel was evident as it had scraped a long gash measuring a full 1.97 inches on her upper arm. Blood oozed from the wound, trickling down her forearm, staining her palm with crimson.

George and Lavern were very nervous. George personally took Scarlett's injured arm from Samantha, his gaze piercing through her. "Step aside, I'll handle this!"

Samantha didn't dare defy George and stepped back. Lavern glared at her, "Dr. Scott, you were too careless!"

Samantha hung her head in shame, "I'm sorry, I really didn't mean to."

"Alright, leave." George sighed.

Samantha took the tray of blood-soaked cotton balls and left the room.

The tray contained over a dozen blood-soaked cotton balls.

That would be enough for a blood test!
