Chapter 176 The Suffering She Endured, He Will Repay a Hundredfold

"Mr. Kingsley, what do we do with Mrs. Kingsley?"

The black Rolls-Royce was driving in the city with Dario at the wheel.

"Back to the hospital."

Brooklyn, still unconscious in the back seat, had her head resting on Sebastian's chest. He held her gently, not wanting to disturb her sleep.

"Understood."

While driving, Dario stole glances at the two in the back. Sebastian had gone alone to rescue someone, and Dario could guess the rest of the story, but there was one thing he couldn't understand.

Dario held back his question, feeling uncomfortable. Summoning his courage, he asked, "Mr. Kingsley, why didn't you call me in advance to pick you up? I've been waiting for news."

Did something unexpected happen?

Yeah, Sebastian could have called anytime for a ride. Saying he didn't have money for a cab was just an excuse; everyone knew he only paid once he reached his destination.

Moreover, what could be more convenient than a phone call?

Did Brooklyn not see through his casual lie, or was she truly scared?

"My phone died." Sebastian replied.

Dario believed him and continued driving to the hospital.

At that moment, Sebastian's phone vibrated, making a muffled sound from his pocket.

The atmosphere in the spacious car became a bit awkward, but no one spoke, each choosing to remain silent.

Dario pretended to be forgetful and deaf.

Sebastian squinted his eagle-like eyes at the screen, where Megan's name was flashing.

It was the last call he wanted to answer at the moment.

Thinking of ignoring it, he flipped his phone over, pretending not to hear it.

Soon after, he decided to turn off his phone.

Dario focused on driving, acting as if nothing had happened. Even if he had heard something, he firmly believed it was just his delusion.

Sooner, Sebastian's voice sounded, usually deep and rich, now turned cold and harsh. "Wipe Davon and his gangout within three days."

Dario's hand trembled slightly, causing the steering wheel to slip. "Davon? Mr. Kingsley, you mean he's the one who kidnapped Mrs. Kingsley?"

Sebastian nodded. "Yes, he was also the one who poisoned Brooklyn, I presume. I don't want to see him again."

"Understood! But Mr. Kingsley, how do you want to deal with him?"

"Finish him! And also, since the Lawson family can't raise good sons, there's no point in keeping their business. Take over the Lawson Group."

"Understood!"

Dario found satisfaction in such decisive tasks.

They finally reached Aucester Hospital.

"Mr. Kingsley, what's wrong with Brooklyn?"

Zach had been waiting for Brooklyn, but seeing her still unconscious, which was the third time in a row, he was so anxious that he couldn't ever hold his stethoscope.

"She fainted." Sebastian replied coldly.

Zach could see that, but he wanted to ask why, especially since Brooklyn's clothes had been stained, and her face was swollen. Didn't he deserve an explanation?

But would Sebastian explain?

After all, Sebastian was the richest man who had the right to offer no explanation.

Zach proceeded to examine her, checking her eyelids and listening to her heartbeat.

Zach placed the stethoscope gently above Brooklyn's chest, moving it to find the right frequency. His long fingers held the small metal earpiece, occasionally brushing against her hospital gown.

Sebastian frowned. "That's enough."

Even though Zach was the doctor, Sebastian's words carried authority.

Removing the stethoscope, Zach covered Brooklyn with a light summer blanket. "There's nothing serious, just extreme fatigue combined with little food since last night and a recent stomach wash. She's weak from physical exhaustion, so I'll give her a nutrient and glucose injection."

Sebastian's face remained dark throughout.

Though Zach's examination had been professional and proper, Sebastian found it uncomfortable to watch.

He thought, 'Brooklyn is a doctor, and doctors treat patients of both genders. But when she sees a male patient, doesshe touch him in the same way?'

He felt extremely uncomfortable at the thought.

After receiving the IV, Sebastian left the hospital to deal with the Lawson Group.

Brooklyn woke up again in the evening.

"You're awake."

Facing her this time was Zach's warm and gentle face, along with his deep, cello-like voice.

"Yes."

Brooklyn felt weak all over, unable to even sit up.

Zach gently pressed her back onto the bed, his soothing smile calming her inner turmoil. "You're still very weak right now and need to rest. To prevent you from sneaking out again, I'll stay here with you. And remember, you're my top priority patient now. Patients must follow the doctor's orders and not resist."

She smiled wearily, and the usually stubborn Brooklyn seemed much gentler. "Thank you."

He frowned. "I really don't want to hear that anymore."

By the time Megan arrived at Bayside Villas, it was already past eight in the evening, but Sebastian and Brooklyn were not there.

She kicked off her heels and imperiously gave orders, "Madison, put my shoes on the top shelf. Savannah, prepare a low-sugar coffee for me."

Madison held her Dior shoes, hesitated, and placed them on the second shelf.

Savannah handed her the coffee, and Megan took a sip.

"What coffee is this? I asked for low sugar. Are you trying to make me sick with all this sweetness? Make it again!"

Savannah nodded timidly. "Yes, Ms. Turner."

Megan grabbed her backpack and fiercely smashed it down on Savannah's head. "What did you call me?"

"I..." Savannah looked distressed, on the verge of tears but holding back, biting her lip. "Mrs. Kingsley."

Megan sat in the middle of the circular sofa, hands spread out, her bright red lips pursing. "Remember that. Call me that from now on. Brooklyn will eventually be out of the Kingsley family, so be sensible. Otherwise, when I'm managing the household, you'll have a hard time."

Savannah and Madison bowed their heads. "Yes, Mrs. Kingsley."

With Sebastian still not back, Megan tried calling him again, only to find his phone was now turned off.

'What is going on with him? Do I have to call the Kingsley Group before he will acknowledge me?'

With these thoughts in mind, Megan called Jennifer.
