Chapter 300 Sebastian is in Trouble, Heart Injury
The news was blaring on the TV. "Breaking news. A black Rolls-Royce was tearing through a flooded road, skidded, and smashed right into a tree. The driver is none other than MBK Group President, Sebastian Kingsley. He's been rushed to Aucester Hospital, and we have no clue about his condition yet."
'Sebastian's in a car wreck!' Seraphina and Susie thought, their jaws dropping as they caught the late-night news.
"Mom, you think the Kingsley family is gonna crumble? Yesterday, Brooklyn and Megan got kidnapped. They didn't die, but they're pretty banged up. Now Sebastian's in a car crash, and who knows if he'll make it. Is the Kingsley family done for?" Susie asked.
Seraphina scoffed, "Brooklyn's a scumbag, and so is everyone in the Kingsley clan! Now that the Mitchell Group isn't ours anymore, we don't have to kiss up to them. Honestly, it'd be better if they all just kicked the bucket!"
Susie spat, "I won't be happy until Brooklyn's dead!"
Kingsley Villa.
"What did you say?! Sebastian's in a car crash! How the hell did that happen?" Jennifer got the call in the dead of night, shaking like a leaf. She threw off the covers and started getting dressed to head to the hospital.
Brian stayed put, barely opening an eye, "Why freak out? He's a grown man; he can handle a car crash. Chill out. Go tomorrow."
Ignoring Brian's snark, Jennifer yanked on a dress. "Sebastian's my son. If you don't give a damn, I do!"
Brian sneered, "If you really care, let him stew in the hospital for a few days and think about whether he has the guts to defy me!"
"How can you be so heartless about Sebastian right now?" Jennifer, drenched in cold sweat from anxiety, bolted out the door and ordered the driver to head straight to the hospital.
After catching the news, Quinn grabbed his clothes and jumped into his car, thinking, 'Sebastian's in a car crash now? What the hell is going on lately?'
On the way, Jennifer was a mess of emotions, wiping her tears in a mix of urgency and fear, thinking, "Brian's ruthless to everyone, even his own son. If Sebastian keeps being stubborn, I'm scared Brian will kick him out one day. It's all because of Brooklyn!"
The car tore through the wind and rain, screeching to a halt at the hospital entrance. Jennifer jumped out and bolted to the emergency room, only to be stopped by the medical staff. "Mrs. Kingsley, we're doing everything we can for Mr. Kingsley. Please, try to stay calm."
Jennifer's tears streaked down her bare face, making her look a decade older. She clung to the doctor's arm, begging, "Please, save my son!"
Inside the emergency room.
"Dr. Bishop, the patient's heart is in bad shape, and he's got old injuries on top of it. We'll try our best!"
"We need Dr. Carter for this surgery. We can't handle it," Anna Bishop, the doctor, said.
"The patient's blood pressure is tanking fast. If this keeps up, it's gonna get real bad! What do we do now?"
Anna pulled off her mask, looking helpless. "We have no choice. Call Dr. Carter right now. The guy on the table is Sebastian."
It wasn't just the complexity of the surgery; Sebastian's name alone made everyone hesitate.
When Zach got the call, he was floored, thinking, "Sebastian? Of all people, how could he be so reckless?"
"He was on Tranquil Avenue, speeding. The front tire skidded, and he slammed into a tree, crushing his heart. Plus, he's got heart injuries before, and the new ones are almost on top of them, making this surgery a nightmare."
Zach changed into his scrubs, spread his hands, and looked at the bloodied Sebastian on the operating table.
"Tranquil Avenue, the road to my place. He was heading to see Brooklyn. She's still got that watch on her wrist. He tracked her down and went straight to her." With a heavy heart, Zach closed his eyes for a moment, his mind racing.
"Let's get this surgery started," Zach said.
The light outside the operating room flicked on, starting the countdown.
Jennifer slumped into a chair, with Quinn and the Kingsley family driver, Brandon Rogers, standing beside her.
Quinn crouched down, holding her hand. "Jennifer, don't worry. Sebastian's gonna pull through."
Jennifer sneered and yanked her hand away, "Don't act like you care. You'd love it if he never woke up, wouldn't you?"
Quinn knew her temper all too well and didn't dare argue. He just said, "Jennifer, no matter what happens to Sebastian, I won't have any bad intentions."
Jennifer snorted in disdain and turned away from him.
