Chapter 279 Kelly Is in Trouble
"Damn it, Sebastian, you trying to make sure I can't even die in peace?" she thought.
Brooklyn's heart was on fire as she wiped away her tears. "Cut it out. I never bought into that forever love nonsense."
Sebastian didn't even flinch. He shoved the roses at her and said, "I can't wait another second. I gotta prove to you right now that I'll love you forever."
He pulled Brooklyn up and wrapped her in his arms. The violin started up again, playing that same soft, flowing tune that tugged at their hearts.
"We'll face the future together. Some things I can handle solo, but for the rest, I need you with me," he said.
Brooklyn stayed quiet.
Sebastian smirked and poked her nose. "What's on your mind? "
"No!" she pouted.
"It's cool if you got me wrong. Out of all the things I wanna do with you, one of 'em is definitely what you just thought of. Should I make your wish come true right now?" he said with a mischievous grin.
"No! Not now!" Brooklyn struggled, thinking, 'I can't give what you want, not now, not ever!'
Sebastian's lips curled into a wicked smile. "I just wanna dance with you. Wonder what my wife was just thinking about?"
Brooklyn stayed silent.
Tonight, she was destined to be sleepless.
Lying on the big bed in the master bedroom of the seaside villa, he held her tight, pressing her against his chest and gently stroking her hair. "Just get some sleep. I'll take you back tomorrow morning."
She was tense all over, dreading his next move. "Okay."
Sebastian took a deep breath and kissed her hair. "Don't worry. I won't do anything you don't wanna do in the future. I won't force you anymore."
He meant anything, including stuff in bed.
Brooklyn nestled into his arms, and her tears started flowing again.
The next day, they drove back to the city. Sebastian went to the company, while Brooklyn stayed home to prep for her trip abroad.
She turned on her phone, which Sebastian had forced off. There were a few messages from Zach and one from Kelly. [Sweetie, I'm here. Where are you? Why can't I reach your phone?]
'Here? What?' Scrolling down, Brooklyn's expression changed dramatically as she thought.
There was a message from Kelly's dad, who couldn't reach Brooklyn by phone, sending her messages one after another, making her more and more anxious!
She dialed Kelly's number, but it couldn't connect!
Brooklyn dropped her luggage and called Kelly's dad, Caleb Wilson. "Mr. Wilson, has Kelly come back?"
On the other end, Caleb gripped the phone and said anxiously, "No, she hasn't come back all night! Kelly rushed out last night, saying she was going to see you, but she hasn't returned, and we can't reach her."
'But I haven't contacted Kelly at all. How could she... Kelly must be in trouble,' Brooklyn thought.
"Mr. Wilson, don't worry. I'll try to contact her. Kelly is probably with friends, and her phone might be dead. Please don't worry," she said soothingly.
Kelly's parents had been up all night, worried. Kelly had stayed out all night before, but this time she didn't seem to be going out for fun. She looked anxious when she left, like something had happened.
Brooklyn felt that Kelly was in trouble, thinking someone was impersonating her to lure Kelly out.
Brooklyn got in the car and tried to contact Kelly while driving, but still no response.
'Impersonating my name must be someone related to me.'
Brooklyn quickly ran through the list of suspicious people in her mind. The more she thought about it, the more scared she got.
It seemed that in Aucester, her enemies were everywhere.
Brooklyn was at a loss for how to find Kelly when her phone rang!
An unfamiliar internet call, a long string of numbers, gave her a sense of foreboding.
"Hello." Brooklyn's back tensed, her voice cold.
"Ms. Mitchell." The voice was clearly altered by a machine.
Brooklyn's car screeched to a halt by the roadside, and she gripped her phone tightly, asking, "Who are you!"
Ryan laughed sinisterly. "Who I am isn't important, is it? What's important is that your good friend has been kidnapped by me. She is quite disobedient. Tell me, should I teach her a lesson first?"
"Bastard! If you touch a hair on her, I'll kill you!" Brooklyn shouted.
'Kelly is indeed in trouble!' she thought.
"Indeed, the hostess of the Kingsley family has quite the tone. But let me remind you, if you don't show up soon, your good friend won't make it out," Ryan said.
