Chapter 439 Showing Affection

A pair of legendary love rings successfully ignited the entire auction hall.

Bidding represented identity, power, status, and wealth, showcasing a man's boldness and a woman's vanity.

Those who stopped bidding were either rational, unwilling to spend billions on a small item, or simply unable to bear the pressure of such a huge amount.

Gradually, fewer and fewer people raised their paddles, and the prices became more and more astonishing.

The scene reached a fever pitch, but Brooklyn still hadn't heard the voice she was expecting.

Did Brooklyn want Sebastian to buy the rings? Actually, she didn't want him to spend so much money.

But did Brooklyn really not want it?

Why was she secretly imagining what the ring would look like on her finger?

Brooklyn looked at her hand, then at the rings on the screen, and said nothing more.

She had to admit, she had a tiny bit of vanity too.

Brandon looked at Brooklyn, leisurely leaned back on the sofa, and prepared for a nap.

Meanwhile, James, Simon, and others had entered a fierce competition, but as the price continued to rise, the frequency of bids slowly decreased.

To put it bluntly, it was just a pair of rings. No matter how good, luxurious, or precious, it was still just an ornament on the hand, right?

But withdrawing tens of millions of dollars directly from a personal account was no joke.

The private accounts of the tycoons didn't mean they could spend recklessly.

James, Simon, and other tycoons of Aucester soon chose to retreat after weighing their options.

The price had reached eighty million dollars.

James, unwilling to give up, wanted to raise his paddle again. Piper said, "James, do you want to become a laughingstock today?"

Her reminder was timely and hit the mark.

James gritted his teeth, "Piper, this is a once-in-a-century treasure."

Piper sneered, "A treasure? I think it's an ominous object that stirs up men's beastly nature, making you fight and injure each other. Also, if someone like Sebastian gets it, it's prestigious, but if you join the fray, you're a fool, understand?"

"Piper, you're underestimating our family." James snorted.

Tens of millions of dollars were nothing to the Rivera family.

Piper was speechless. "Buy the ring, give it to your wife, and then when you divorce, it ends up in her hands?"

James eventually didn't insist.

The scene finally quieted down.

Brooklyn suddenly noticed that while so many people were bidding, two people hadn't made a sound.

Kevin, Marc.

From beginning to end, neither of them had spoken.

This was odd.

Finally, a paddle was raised from the crowd.

Marc?

The price increased again.

Marc's gaze was cold, scanning the crowd with a chilling look. He raised his paddle, his voice still full of strength, with the unique maturity, steadiness, and ambition of a man his age, "Eighty-four million dollars."

He directly increased the bid by four million dollars, a bold move.

Sitting next to him, Susie had already excitedly hugged his arm, "Honey."

Her coquettish call was filled with a wife's charm and cuteness, and a woman's special sense of dependence.

The soft voice made Marc feel immensely pleased.

Everyone thought the "war" would end here, but a voice immediately followed. "Ninety million dollars."

Kevin?

Brooklyn's eyes flew to the back where Kevin was sitting. He was actually going to spend ninety million dollars on the rings?

As she looked at Kevin, perhaps he had been watching her, or perhaps he just happened to look over, Brooklyn and Kevin's eyes met once again across the distance.

Kevin nodded at Brooklyn, smiling gently, his gaze sincere and tender, as if nothing unpleasant had ever happened between them.

Kevin looked clean and harmless, as if he had never done anything to The Taylor Group.

Brooklyn quickly shifted her gaze back, frowning, feeling a bit disappointed.

Marc was also shocked; someone was still raising the bid!

Eager to win, Marc didn't back down and raised his paddle again.

Kevin followed suit.

The numbers kept rising, the atmosphere more tense, and everyone held their breath.

Everyone believed that the rings would inevitably belong to one of them tonight.

The price had soared to one hundred and twenty million dollars, which never seen in diamond auctions, even though these rings were special.

But it wasn't worth such a grand price!

Marc fell silent; Kevin seemed determined to get the rings.

With a heavy grunt, Marc put down his paddle.

A businessman, after all, must consider investment and return.

The host looked in surprise at the elegant Kevin sitting calmly in the last row, nodding slightly, seemingly congratulating in advance, "One hundred and twenty million dollars, going once..."

Just when everyone thought the rings would be successfully auctioned by Kevin, a low, rich voice, like red wine, floated over from the right side's private box.

The private box, so-called because it was set up for those who didn't want to reveal their identity, was surrounded by a row of crystal curtains, with another layer of drapery behind. Usually, no one sat there, and generally, not just anyone could sit there. But tonight, someone was actually sitting there!

And that voice was so familiar!

Sebastian slowly spoke, his voice not loud but steady, cutting through the vast hall. He announced a price that left everyone in shock!

"One hundred seventy-six million dollars."

The resolute voice was like a massive stone thrown into a previously calm lake, creating immense ripples!

It was Sebastian!

Sebastian was actually here!

Sebastian actually placed a bid!

Sebastian actually bid nearly one hundred eighty million dollars!

An astronomical price!

After announcing the number, the crystal curtain and drapery were pulled back, revealing a table and a sofa in the private box. On the sofa sat the elegant and unassailable Sebastian, holding a cup of steaming coffee.

Brooklyn and everyone's eyes were all on him!

Without a doubt, the Forever Embrace rings became Sebastian's possession!

The host exclaimed, "Congratulations, Mr. Kingsley! One hundred seventy-six million dollars, the Forever Embrace is yours."

Kevin's fist clenched lightly!

He didn't expect Sebastian to be here!

James and Megan stood up simultaneously, their eyes locked on Sebastian, staring at him, looking up to him.

James and Megan then looked at Brooklyn.

The meaning in their eyes was obvious; the rings belonged to Sebastian and Brooklyn.

Everyone erupted into thunderous applause, a mix of admiration, envy, awe, and genuine respect.

Sebastian walked down the steps one by one, dressed in a black, perfectly tailored suit, one hand in his pocket, the tail of his coat elegantly floating. The black suit exuded an unparalleled elegance.

Everyone watched Sebastian, seeing him descend the steps with unmatched grace, step by step, towards a specific direction.

Brooklyn had a faint smile on her lips.

Before long, Sebastian's tall and slender figure stood before Brooklyn, who was sitting by the aisle, looking up at him with a slight smile.

The entire room fell silent again!

What was happening?

Wasn't that woman the much-talked-about Scarlett?

What was her relationship with Sebastian?

Amidst countless astonished and questioning gazes, Sebastian tenderly gazed at Brooklyn, his eyes filled with affection and warmth.

In that moment of eye contact, Dario walked briskly from the backstage, carrying a black tray, and nodded at Sebastian.

What did this mean? What was happening?

Just as everyone was in utter shock, Sebastian suddenly knelt on one knee!

What?

A spotlight shone down on Sebastian and Brooklyn, enveloping them in a bright white glow, outshining everything else that night.

Sebastian, dressed in black, knelt on one knee, his demeanor undiminished. He knelt with a straight back, his long legs forming a perfect ninety-degree angle, and his suit showed not a single crease, every part fitting perfectly.

Sebastian was truly outstanding! Exceptional!

He took the women's ring from the tray, his long, clean fingers holding the ring, his handsome features focused on her, as if she were the only person in the world.

His deep, melodious voice resonated just for her, gentle and firm, "I love you, Brooklyn. Will you marry me again?"

Brooklyn's elegant and beautiful face lit up with a smile, her sweet voice tinged with delight, "I agree."

Their eyes met, filled with deep affection. Sebastian lifted her slender, fair hand, and the forty-four million dollar ring slid onto her ring finger.

The white diamond, the platinum band, fit her hand perfectly, matching her skin tone and fingers flawlessly.

It was such a perfect fit.

Sebastian then handed the men's ring to her, smiling enticingly, "Thank you, Mrs. Kingsley."

Brooklyn pouted playfully, picked up the ring, and looked into his eyes, "You're welcome, Mr. Kingsley."

As she slid the ring onto his ring finger, she deliberately paused, pretending the ring was stuck at his knuckle, then raised her eyebrows triumphantly.

Sebastian, seeing through her trick, grasped her hand and perfectly fitted the ring onto his finger.

Sebastian and Brooklyn's hands intertwined, clasped, entwined, and held tight.

The two rings together, their hands clasped, seemed inseparable by any force.

"Brooklyn, I delayed this proposal for too long." Sebastian held her hand tightly, their palms pressed together, inseparable.

"As long as you are mine, it doesn't matter if it's a bit late." She smiled softly, filled with endless tenderness.

Sebastian, holding her hand, as if in a world of their own, led her down the steps one by one.

In the hall, hundreds of eyes widened in astonishment! Mouths agape! Hearts pounding!

A black and white pair, gracefully descended the high red carpet, walking towards their forever, under the spotlight's farewell.

As they reached the last step, Sebastian finally responded to her, "Though it's a bit late, I promise, I will spend the rest of my life with you."

Sebastian's lips curved up, his voice steady, the promise etched into his heart.

Brooklyn nodded, her delicate brows arching in a smile, "Me too."
