Chapter 198 Sealing Lips with Lips
Brooklyn struggled to free her hand, her wrist turning red from his grip.
Faced with Sebastian's dominance, she had to give in.
"Sebastian, don't accuse me without any proves. My relationship with Dr. Carter is innocent. Check if you want."
Brooklyn's breath hitched. Even she found it hard to believe there was nothing between her and Zach, so how could she convince him?
Sebastian's intense gaze bore into her. The wind tousled his hair and collar, amplifying his anger.
"Brooklyn, do you know your biggest flaw?"
'What's he getting at?'
"What do you mean?" she blurted out anxiously.
Talking to Sebastian always made her feel outmatched, which was frustrating.
He looked down at her. Amidst the estate's greenery and flowers, she looked fresh and elegant, a beauty that captivated him.
The summer breeze lifted a strand of her hair, which brushed against her nose, adding to her charm.
Sebastian was agitated.
"Your flaw is that when you lie, your eyes give you away."
"I'm not lying. We're just friends and colleagues. He's my boss and once saved my life."
'Saved you?'
"Because he saved you, you can flirt with him and eat the food he feeds you?"
Sebastian was on the verge of losing it.
He had seen everything!
Brooklyn looked up. "Shouldn't I? If he hadn't saved me that night, I'd be dead. You wouldn't understand, Sebastian."
'Is that really the case?' Sebastian scoffed inwardly.
"What do you want? To repay him with your body?" His grip tightened, as if to crush her arm.
Brooklyn's wrist hurt so much that she almost cried. This violent maniac wouldn't let go until he left marks on her, would he?
"It's not as serious as you think, but I can't ignore it. I'm not that forgetful. Sebastian, let me go."
He tightened his grip. "Are you rushing for a divorce because of him?"
"Does it matter? I just want a divorce. I don't owe you an explanation!"
Her wrist throbbed, and she gasped in pain, feeling like it might break.
"It matters because I won't agree to a divorce, no matter your reason."
Tears welled up in Brooklyn's eyes. If he squeezed any harder, she'd cry. "Sebastian, you're a jerk, you—"
Her words were cut off as his cold lips pressed against hers, silencing her.
Sebastian held her wrist, and as his kiss deepened, she lost the strength to struggle. He released her wrist, his warm hand caressing her back, pulling her into his arms.
Brooklyn's fists pounded on his back, but his kiss grew gentler, drawing her in.
Zach stood on the steps, watching.
Sebastian's tall frame enveloped Brooklyn under the trees, with flowers blooming and water flowing.
Zach's heart ached. He clenched his fists, brows furrowed.
He wanted to leave but heard a dull slap.
Brooklyn had hit Sebastian's back.
Zach paused, then walked down the steps.
Sebastian wanted to show off to Zach but underestimated Brooklyn's resistance. He couldn't understand her.
"Sebastian, you..."
Brooklyn bit her lip. 'Why does he always make me feel so miserable?'
Sebastian didn't let her speak, his hand wrapping around hers. "Next time I'll be careful. You're so enchanting. I can't help myself."
'What did he say?'
Brooklyn turned and saw Zach.
"Dr. Carter."
"I just finished organizing the chess pieces. Why are you still here? Aren't you going to look outside?"
Zach acted like he hadn't seen anything.
"Okay, I'll go right away."
Sebastian interlocked his fingers with hers, holding her hand tightly. "Let's go. Let's check out the scenery."
"Dr. Carter, Brooklyn! The chef here is amazing, the fish is ready so quickly, you guys should..." Kelly's words trailed off.
She was stunned.
'What happened here? How is Sebastian here?'
