Chapter 231 Snuggling into Sebastian's Arms
"Alright, I'll be there on time," Brooklyn said, hiding her surprise and nodding.
Zach was waiting, so she pocketed her phone and turned to him. "Dr. Carter, do you need something?"
He smiled patiently. "Got plans after work?" She noticed he looked exhausted, like he hadn't slept. Seeing his bloodshot eyes, she felt some concern. "Yeah, but it can wait. What do you need?"
He hesitated, guessing the call was from Sebastian, which bothered him. "It's nothing urgent. You can go. I'll tell you another day."
She tried to read his expression but found nothing. He was always good at hiding his feelings. "Let's handle it tomorrow. If it's not urgent, I have some documents that need your signature." She used work as an excuse to break the awkwardness and WENT to the locker room.
Meanwhile, Susie sat in her car, angrily pounding the steering wheel. "How unlucky!"
She opened the diagnosis report; forty days pregnant. She gritted her teeth. 'People who want to get pregnant can't, and here I am, getting pregnant even while on contraception. Damn it! It must've happened at that big party.'
That night, everyone drank heavily, and she woke up naked in a suite with several others. She had no idea who the father was. It'd be huge if the public found out, so she needed a secret abortion.
She didn't dare call Seraphina. 'Seraphina knows I enjoy fun, but not how chaotic my private life is. If she found out, it would be over.'
She dialed a number. "Get me a hospital and a reliable doctor. Don't ask why; just hurry!"
Brooklyn changed clothes and drove her Maybach to Global Mall. She saw Sebastian standing outside from afar, looking like a perfect sculpture. Despite the bustling people around him, he was only standing quietly as if the breeze and moonlight made way for him.
He recognized her car, approaching before she got out. When Brooklyn opened the door, she fell into his warm embrace he wrapped his arm around her shoulder. She still smelled of disinfectant, fresh and clean. "Let's go. I already bought the tickets. The movie starts in twenty minutes."
He held her hand, wearing an Armani suit while exuding confidence.
"Why'd you suddenly want to take me to a movie?" she asked, feeling like the luckiest woman in the world walking beside him.
He bent down slightly, smiling warmly. "We've never watched a movie together. Don't you want to try it?"
Honestly, she did.
As they entered the cinema lobby, all eyes were on them. The stars of the latest gossip had stepped off the screen and into real life!
He held her waist, signaling her to ignore the stares.
She felt uneasy. "So many people are watching. Maybe we shouldn't?"
"Who cares about them? Just focus on us. From now on, just look at me."
Brooklyn stayed quiet.
At the concession stand, he said, "Wait here."
She watched, stunned, as Sebastian walked to the counter. His tall, straight back outshone all the other guys.
To her surprise, he returned with a large tub of popcorn and two big drinks. Under the grand chandelier, his deep eyes were captivating, smiling gently and making her heart race.
"What are you staring at? Your eyes are glued."
"Nothing," she said, taking the popcorn. 'Who else could I look at besides you?'
Sebastian chose VIP couple seats. He avoided the private box for its lack of shared experience and the regular hall for its crowd.
His choice was perfect.
The couple's hall was filled with pairs, hand in hand, laughing intimately. The atmosphere was charged with romance.
Brooklyn's face flushed. 'His intention is pretty clear, isn't it?'
They sat in the last row, with the movie and the couples in front visible.
'This is so awkward!'
The movie started, with her 3D glasses covering most of her face. She glanced at Sebastian. Even with half his face hidden, his jawline was stunning!
'Sebastian, you jerk, picking a 3D horror movie!' she had always been terrified of horror movies.
"So scary!"
"Honey, I'm scared!"
The women in front were all snuggling into their partners' arms, acting soft and delicate.
On the other hand, she kept stuffing popcorn into her mouth, gritting her teeth as she watched Sebastian's calm demeanor, feeling annoyed.
His arm rested on the armrest, ready for her to lean in.
However, she stubbornly held on until the people in front collectively freaked out.
Sebastian felt a bit frustrated.
All of a sudden, a bloody face jump scare popped up from the screen!
Brooklyn dropped the popcorn and dove straight into Sebastian's arms.
