Chapter 32 The President's Assistant
Next, Brooklyn detailed the patient's condition. She remained rational and objective, showing no fear or timidity.
Outside on the television, Sebastian lightly pinched the remote control with his long fingers. Reporters were broadcasting live from the scene, and on the screen, Brooklyn was attempting to explain something, but clearly, no one below wanted to listen to her explanation.
Her disheveled hair draped over her shoulders, her complexion somewhat pale. Sebastian's gaze followed the stains on her clothes downward, eventually lingering on her knees. He saw her injured leg trembling slightly.
"So, I hope you will agree to the hospital performing an autopsy on the patient's body. Once I have ascertained the true cause of the patient's death, I will give everyone a satisfactory response. If it was my mistake that led to the patient's death, I will apologize to you and compensate for all losses."
When Sebastian saw this, he made an internal call.
"Come in for a moment."
Sebastian's deep eyes were fixed on Brooklyn. Her proposal was immediately rejected, and she had already angered the relatives of the deceased.
The scene was out of control. The limited security personnel could not resist the frenzied onslaught of the crowd of relatives, and they dared not use their real strength to fight back, so they were forced to retreat step by step!
"Brooklyn Mitchell! You killed my son! Apologize to me now!"
"Apologize! Admit your mistake!"
"Brooklyn Mitchell, you murderer! You've killed someone!"
A burly man punched a security guard to the ground. His large hand, like steel, grabbed Brooklyn's slender wrist and threw her harshly to the ground!
"Smack!"
Brooklyn fell heavily on the floor, her balance lost. Her knee struck the white floor directly. Instantly, Brooklyn was in too much pain to get up.
Old wounds combined with new ones made Brooklyn's face extremely pale. She seemed to have ringing in her ears; she couldn't hear what the people next to her were saying at all!
"The police are here!"
"Quick! The police!"
The sound of the police cars became clearer. Brooklyn was helped up. She opened her eyes to see several men in military uniforms approaching, and then they stood directly in front of her.
"Ms. Mitchell, we will investigate this egregious incident of medical disturbance, and at the same time, we hope you will cooperate with our investigation."
Huh?
The police had already deemed this incident as a case of medical disturbance?
This was the first time in Brooklyn's life that she had been to a police station to give a statement, and she was in a very bad mood.
After recording her statement, she received the consent form for the autopsy. A dozen relatives brought in glared viciously at Brooklyn, "You wait! If Pino died because of you, I won't let you off!"
A police officer scolded loudly, "You dare to threaten the party involved in front of the police?"
The dozen people stopped talking.
Brooklyn nodded, "Thank you, officer."
"Hey! No need to thank me, it's our job. We've already sent a forensic expert to the hospital, and once the autopsy results are out, things will be clear."
Brooklyn had been injured, so she was excused from participating in the autopsy. The extremely pained Brooklyn staggered out of the police station. She looked up at the vast blue sky, filled with mixed emotions.
'My life has been so damn eventful lately.'
Inside the police station, in the adjacent meeting room, Dario shook hands with the police officer, "Thanks! Officer, you've worked hard!"
Harry saluted, smiling, "It's my honor. We will handle the matter entrusted by Mr. Kingsley properly. Mr. Klein, you go back and assure Mr. Kingsley that this kind of medical disturbance won't happen again."
Dario said, "That would be best. Aucester Hospital is Aucester's top hospital, and no one wants it to suffer any negative impact."
"Yes, yes!"
After Dario left the police station, he saw Brooklyn standing not far away hailing a cab. At that moment, his phone was answered.
"Mr. Kingsley, the matter has been dealt with. Mrs. Kingsley, there's nothing serious... Her leg? It seems like her leg... Yes, I'll go right now..."
Dario was about to go to Brooklyn when a white Aston Martin stopped in front of her. The window rolled down slowly, and it was Quinn!
"Sister-in-law, you've become famous! More than half the country has seen the video on the internet."
Brooklyn snorted, "Are you here to enjoy the show?"
"Of course not! I came specially to pick up this angel in white and take you home. Get in the car. That man just now threw you to the ground. Sister-in-law, don't worry, I'll take care of him for you."
Seeing that it was not easy to hail a cab here, Brooklyn opened the door and got into the back seat.
"What's wrong?"
Dario didn't speak, so Sebastian asked impatiently.
Dario swallowed hard, "That... Mr. Kingsley, Mrs. Kingsley was just... picked up by someone."
"Who?" Even through the phone, Dario could feel Sebastian's chill.
Dario: "...Mr. Quinn."
