Chapter 94 Who Wants Her Dead
Brooklyn crossed her arms, pretending to be angry.
Kelly waved her hand, "Are you not in the mood for a good time? Alright, what do you want to do? I'll accompany you! Is that okay?"
"Really?" Brooklyn's eyes sparkled mischievously.
"When have I ever lied to you? Come on, tell me."
After thinking for a moment, Brooklyn patted Kelly's shoulder, "I want to go watch a movie."
Kelly blinked several times, reaching out to touch her forehead, "Are you feeling okay? Watch a movie? You want me to sit with you in a dark movie theater? The two of us? Girls?"
Brooklyn nodded, "Will you come with me? It's been a long time since I watched a movie, and you wouldn't want me to go alone, right?"
Kelly adamantly refused, "I knew I shouldn't listen to you. Being a doctor, you have no sense of fun. Let's not watch a movie. Let's go have a drink!"
"You still want to drink?!"
Brooklyn couldn't do anything about Kelly. Whenever they went out together, almost none of her suggestions were accepted.
Kelly was good at drinking, but she couldn't handle it. She would get drunk after just three drinks.
While Kelly flirted with guys at the bar, Brooklyn sat on the couch munching some snacks. A few men tried to chat her up, but Brooklyn ignored them all.
Brooklyn checked the time. It was close to seven o'clock. It would take at least forty minutes to drive back to the mansion from here, and Sebastian had reminded her to be back before eight.
"Kelly, I have to go home first. Stop drinking."
She took Kelly's glass away. Kelly tousled her hair, "So early? The night is just beginning. Are you going home to cook dinner for Sebastian?"
Brooklyn frowned, "He needs to see me for something. I have to go back and meet him."
Kelly let go of the guy she was talking to and examined Brooklyn's face, "Are you going back alone? I'm a bit worried that Sebastian might bully you. No, I'll go back with you!"
"Forget it. I'm used to handling things on my own. But you need to go home now. You can't drive after drinking. I'll find you a designated driver."
"Don't worry about me. I'll drop you off to catch a cab. Contact me immediately if anything happens! I can take him on!"
Brooklyn smiled, pinching Kelly's chubby cheeks, "It'll be fine, trust me."
Kelly rolled her eyes. She couldn't believe her at all. With Sebastian's dominance, not even ten Brooklyn's could match him.
Brooklyn hailed a cab back to the mansion. Through the rearview mirror, she saw a black car following her since she got in.
"Sir, please hurry."
The driver also noticed the car behind them and asked anxiously, "Miss, are they following you? Did you offend someone?"
The driver's voice trembled. Nowadays, people were afraid of getting into trouble.
"No, maybe I'm mistaken," Brooklyn replied.
The driver was still uneasy, "Miss, I'm really sorry. I have a family to take care of. I can't afford to offend anyone in the underworld. I'll drop you off ahead. I won't charge you for this ride."
Brooklyn stared at the black car's shadow, feeling uneasy. "I'll pay you double! Just take me to the entrance of Bayside Villas."
The driver pleaded, "Please let me go. It seems like the people behind us won't give up."
The fearful driver dropped Brooklyn off at the next intersection and drove off in a hurry.
The night wind blew cold against Brooklyn's body. She glanced at the black Volkswagen, getting closer and closer!
The street in the night exuded a sense of fear and chill. Brooklyn stepped back, and the black car drove parallel to her!
Unable to avoid it, Brooklyn saw the car window slowly roll down, revealing the head of a middle-aged stranger who grinned at her, "Hi miss, it's not safe to catch a cab here. Let me give you a ride!"
Brooklyn tightly held onto her bag strap, walking briskly ahead. The car followed her without haste. At that moment, the window of the car behind also opened, and two men with playful smiles said, "Miss, don't rush! Someone wants to meet you. Come with us!"
Deep furrows formed on Brooklyn's forehead as she gritted her teeth and shouted, "Get lost! Or I'll call the police!"
"Haha! Call the police? We're so scared!"
"Haha!"
Grabbing her handbag, Brooklyn ran towards where there were people!
Three men jumped out of the car and chased after her frantically.
Brooklyn was shocked. Who were these people? Why were they chasing her?
Who wanted to see her? Megan? No, it didn't make sense. Who else? Sebastian?
"Stop! You bitch! Stop!"
The louder the shouts from behind, the faster she ran. She sprinted wildly, and ahead was a large shopping mall. There was hope!
"Stop!"
Brooklyn ran through the chaotic intersection, and suddenly the traffic lights turned red!
With the three men almost catching up to her, there were sixty seconds of red light ahead. If they caught her, she was done for.
Brooklyn gritted her teeth and dashed through the crossroads amidst the traffic flow!
The screeching of brakes filled her ears as Brooklyn maneuvered through the traffic like a blind child, with honking and cursing echoing around her.
The three men stared in astonishment at the chaotic intersection. This woman was truly fearless!
Standing in the middle of the traffic, the dazzling car lights felt like needles piercing her eyes.
Suddenly, a white truck came straight at her. Her pupils dilated as the terrified eyes of the driver locked onto her!
Brooklyn couldn't escape in time and was knocked down to the ground.
