Chapter 463 Unlocking New Features for My Husband
Sebastian arrived, and it was like she suddenly had a shield around her. Her whole body relaxed, feeling at ease, especially when she heard his voice. It was like the entire world lit up.
She smiled softly as her gaze fell on Sebastian. His towering figure stood with an air of undeniable authority amidst the noisy bar, yet he seemed untouched by the chaos—so pristine and untainted.
How heartwarming!
"When did you get here?" she asked.
Sebastian didn't hesitate, "I got here when you started questioning Valerie."
Brooklyn pouted, pretending to be annoyed, "If you got here so early, why didn't you come over to help? She almost killed your wife back then."
Sebastian held her arm with one hand, the other in his pocket. His expression shifted from concern to indulgence, "My wife can handle things on her own. Besides, I saw you enjoying the interrogation. How could I take away your fun?"
Brooklyn chuckled, "I know you're good with words. I can't win against you. Alright, everything's almost settled. The police can arrest her at the hotel tomorrow morning."
Sebastian frowned, "Tomorrow?"
Brooklyn turned to face him, a triumphant smile on her face, "Yes, Valerie's good days are numbered. At least let her have a good night's sleep. We should be a bit magnanimous."
Sebastian's frown deepened, his fingers brushing her hair, "Mrs. Kingsley, why do I feel like you're becoming quite the troublemaker?"
"Stay close to the red and you'll turn red, but stay close to you and you'll turn rotten." Her smile was so smug, as if it was only natural to become mischievous, her tone clearly saying, "I'm innocent."
It made Sebastian feel completely at ease!
He savored the words, then whispered in her ear, "Alright, I'll make you even more mischievous."
The entire bar was in shock!
Sebastian actually came!
And he was acting like nothing was wrong, showing off his affection with his wife in front of everyone!
Could he be any more domineering and proud?
Kelly swallowed hard, "Mr. Kingsley, since you're here, I'll leave your wife to you."
Sebastian nodded, "Alright."
Brooklyn was worried about Kelly going home alone since she had been drinking. It might not be safe, so she said, "Honey, let's take Kelly home first."
Meaning, "let's drop her off and then go home."
But Sebastian interpreted it as, "Alright, I'll have Owen come pick her up."
He turned and said, "Ms. Wilson, please wait here for a moment. Someone will come to get you."
Kelly's eyes widened, "Oh, I can take a cab! No need to trouble your driver."
The thought of Sebastian's driver made her heart race.
Sebastian, with an arm around Brooklyn's waist, his calm face exuding an undeniable authority, said, "It's no trouble. Brooklyn's friend deserves it."
Kelly said, "Well, in that case, then I'll benefit from Brooklyn."
Sebastian looked down at Brooklyn, whose face was slightly flushed, "How much did you drink?"
"Just one glass, I'm fine. Let's go." Brooklyn wasn't one to be overly sentimental, but showing affection in front of a crowd felt a bit inappropriate.
"Alright."
The two walked out hand in hand, leaving the people in the bar wide-eyed.
Sebastian was so good to his wife!
Were they trying to make single people feel miserable?
Kelly watched their backs, shaking her head in despair, "I want a boyfriend too!"
Outside the bar, the night breeze blew gently, clearing the alcohol from their bodies and lifting their spirits.
Sebastian held her hand with one hand and her bag with the other, "Did you bring the milk?"
Brooklyn was surprised, "I forgot."
Did he really mean it? She thought it was just a casual remark.
Sebastian took a deep breath, "You are so disobedient."
"I didn't think it was necessary. I only had one drink, it's fine."
But Sebastian narrowed his eyes, clearly displeased, "Wait here."
Brooklyn was puzzled.
Before she could ask, Sebastianheaded straight to a nearby convenience store. Brooklyn watched his back, smiling contentedly.
When he was considerate, it was almost crazy!
A moment later, Sebastian came out with a plastic bag.
Let's be real—shopping from a convenience store's plastic bag doesn't exactly scream "Sebastian." But somehow, he made it work. If anything, that cheap little bag just got a major upgrade.
Sometimes, it's not the clothes that make the person, but the person that makes the clothes. Especially someone like Sebastian.
Sebastian handed her a milk with a straw, "It's at room temperature, won't upset your stomach. Remember to drink a glass after alcohol. Better yet, don't drink at all."
"Mr. Kingsley, aren't you making a big deal out of this? I'm an adult, not a child." Brooklyn was helpless.
Sebastian opened a bottle of water, and they walked slowly to the parking lot, one drinking milk, the other water.
"Baby, you know what they say? If a woman finds the right husband, she'll never have to 'grow up.' But if she keeps evolving and maturing, it's a sign she didn't marry the right guy."
Brooklyn looked at Sebastian in surprise, "Mr. Kingsley, where did you learn that? Wait, it sounds familiar. Did you read the novel I mentioned? Learning from the male lead?"
Sebastian laughed. "Joke's on you. I don't need to learn from anyone. Taking care of my wife is a natural talent."
"Oh? Then why didn't I see you being this proactive before?"
Sebastian intertwined his fingers with hers, their skin touching, the intimacy palpable, "This feature just activated recently. It'll get better with use."
Brooklyn was speechless. If this conversation continued, she felt she might melt, "By the way, Valerie said the mastermind behind Kelly's kidnapping was Megan. What do you think?"
"Megan has hurt you multiple times. I won't give her another chance." A trace of evil flashed into his eyes
Brooklyn suddenly stopped, "She's about to get engaged to Simon. They're probably very close now. If you go after Megan, Simon won't stand by. This could get complicated."
"You mean to let her go for now?" Sebastian's voice was cold.
Brooklyn nodded, then shook her head, "It depends on Megan's behavior. The Mitchell Group just came back to me. If I immediately go after Megan, it will cause a lot of talk."
"Who dares? Anyone who speaks ill of you, I'll make sure they stay silent forever." his tone was firm.
Brooklyn looked up at the stars, smiling, "The milk tastes really good! Mr. Kingsley, you have great taste!"
Meanwhile, "What is this? How did Valerie show up!" Megan stared at the overwhelming videos and comments on her phone, her eyes wide, her body trembling. Valerie, that idiot!
"What's wrong?" Simon, wrapping a robe around his waist, held Megan's smooth shoulder, noticing her sudden change in expression.
Megan's face was ashen, "Valerie is back, and she met Brooklyn."
Simon frowned, "Valerie? What's she got to do with you?"
Megan pushed Simon's hand away, frantically looking for clothes, "That idiot, she'll ruin me. I can't let this happen! I need to go out!"
"What's going on? I'll go with you."
Megan's heart skipped a beat. If Simon found out, would he cancel their partnership?
She had offended Sebastian. If not handled properly, she would finished!
What to do?
"No, I can handle it myself." she shook her head.
Simon took her phone, opened the video, his face growing darker as he watched, then he smiled, "This scared you?"
Megan glared, "This is serious. Valerie was too careless! I clearly instructed her! Fuck!"
Simon touched her back, "Leave it to me. Since I chose you, I'll help you."
"Oh?" Megan couldn't believe Simon's promise, "But it's Sebastian."
Simon licked her earlobe, sneering, "I won't go after Sebastian directly, but this woman..."
A piercing scream echoed from the hotel suite. Valerie clutched the sheets, her face pale as if she'd seen a ghost.
How could this happen? How could she...
Her head hurt! Her body felt like it had been beaten.
Valerie tried to remember, but her mind was blank. She couldn't recall anything.
Why were there two naked men in her bed? And she was also naked. How could this happen?
What happened last night?
She only remembered meeting Brooklyn and Kelly, then endless drinking, and then...
Valerie pounded her head, but the rest was blank. She couldn't remember anything! "Get up! Who are you?"
Valerie kicked the men in the bed. One of them lazily opened his eyes, "You don't remember us already?"
"I don't know you! Why are you in my bed?"
"Miss Sanchez, you invited us."
Valerie's face turned ashen, trembling, "Me?"
"Get out!" Valerie yelled, the two men stood up, barely dressed, "Miss Sanchez, we'll leave, but you need to pay us."
"Pay?"
Just then, the bathroom door opened, and the man from last night walked out, still naked! "Valerie, you're finally awake. Good, now explain this."
"I don't know! How did they get here?"
Suddenly, a knock on the door interrupted their argument, startling all four. "Open up!"
Valerie clutched the sheet, "You... you go check!"
The man sneered, "Me?"
Valerie gritted her teeth, "If not you, then who?"
"This is the police! Open the door immediately!" Another voice boomed, cutting through their argument!
The police!
"Why are the police here?"
