Chapter 152: Clearing the Relationship

Across a corridor, the mixed sound of microphones from both sides created a fervent atmosphere, as if sound waves had overturned the entire building.

The singing and dancing showdown between the two private rooms sparked waves of excitement, and the enthusiastic participants on both sides were eager to show off their skills.

Their strong burst of energy and comedic abilities also amused all, even lifting Brooklyn's previously sour mood.

Laughter filled the room as they played dice games, drank, and played truth or dare. Surprisingly, the two mismatched teams found harmony and synergy.

"Wow! The thrilling moment has arrived! Our CEO of MBK Group is stepping up. Who dares to challenge him?" one colleague asked.

'Sebastian is also participating?!' Brooklyn thought. Upon hearing his name, Brooklyn's back straightened suddenly. Under the flashing lights, her field of vision was filled with a dreamlike haze.

Meanwhile, Sebastian exuded a cold and clear aura, his tall figure exuding dominance as he sat there with his long legs crossed. His commanding and fierce presence, along with his irresistible charm, was a sight to behold.

The hospital side erupted, "Of course, it's our Vice Dean! Dr. Carter, come on!"

Zach's gaze turned to Sebastian, and an invisible tension filled the air between them, unnoticed by others but clear to Brooklyn.

However, the skilled doctor Zach couldn't sing. That was a fact.

Piper chuckled, "Dr. Carter has a specialized profession, busy with experiments, reports, surgeries, saving lives. How could he have time for these frivolous activities?  For a singing contest, anyone will do. Why take it so seriously?"

In the end, the player from the hospital side turned out to be Brooklyn.

"Mr. Kingsley, our hospital's leading lady, Dr. Mitchell, will challenge you. Hope you'll go easy on her during the showdown," one doctor said.

Dario observed Sebastian's reaction but saw none.

Zach stood up and took the microphone from Brooklyn's hand, "Mr. Kingsley, how about we change the competition format?"

Sebastian lazily held a cocktail in his hand. "As you wish."

Samantha suddenly emerged from behind, already quite drunk, and fearlessly said, "Dr. Carter, these two lovers want to show affection. Why are you joining in? Haha, are you the third party?"

The room fell silent! Because Samantha had spoken into the microphone!

Brooklyn turned ashen. She instinctively looked at Sebastian, whose previously calm face now showed a sudden surge of anger.

She had thought Sebastian would drag Samantha out and deal with her, but to her surprise, he stood up calmly. A sharp-eyed employee handed him the microphone.

"It seems like you guys in the hospital are very curious about my relationship with her, aren't you?" Sebastian asked.

Brooklyn's eyes widened. 'Sebastian, don't be impulsive! Not now!' Brooklyn thought.

Sebastian's dark eyes locked onto Brooklyn, scrutinizing her every move. 'Woman, what are you afraid of?' Sebastian pondered.

Piper smiled. "Mr. Kingsley, Dr. Mitchell has been troubled by this matter. If you can give everyone an explanation, it would be good for her."

Brooklyn closed her eyes. Piper was trying to ruin her!

Zach sternly shouted, "Dr. Rivera. Enough!"

Sebastian's thin lips slowly lifted, forming a smile that was devoid of any warmth. "Since everyone is so curious, I'll give you an answer today."

'No!' Brooklyn thought.

If their relationship were made public, things would only get more complicated. Brooklyn wanted a quiet divorce and to start a new life. If people found out she was Sebastian's discarded wife, how could she face the future?

Zach, with a troubled expression, rubbed his forehead. "Mr. Kingsley."

Brooklyn's deep voice was amplified by the microphone. She looked at him with slightly intoxicated eyes. "Why take baseless rumors seriously? It's quite amusing to be mistaken as Mr. Kingsley's lover. If you clarify things from the start, where's the fun? I won't get any attention then." She spoke so casually as if she enjoyed being misunderstood. In reality, Brooklyn was conveying that she had no relationship with Sebastian.

Sebastian dropped the microphone and walked step by step to the opposite side. With every step, his tall and upright figure exuded an air of royalty, captivating the audience.

In an instant, he stood in front of Brooklyn, leaning in to see her flushed cheeks. "If Ms. Mitchell enjoys feeling superior, why not be my girlfriend? How about that?"

What! Brooklyn was completely confused! With her widely-opened eyes, she questioned, "What are you doing?"

He whispered in her ear, gesturing suggestively, "If you want an all-in, I'll play along."

"Sebastian Kingsley!" Brooklyn exclaimed.

"Here," he replied lightly.

The onlookers were shocked. Their conversation only solidified the rumors of an affair, making the atmosphere incredibly tense.

Piper suddenly started clapping. "Mr. Kingsley, your courage is commendable. This is a public declaration! Let's all give some encouragement!"

Sebastian was about to ruin her, and Piper welcomed it.

Brooklyn gritted her teeth. "Sebastian, don't mess around. Do you want to ruin my reputation?"

Sebastian's eyes revealed a pain she couldn't see. Then he straightened up, smiling faintly. "Dr. Mitchell can't take a joke. It seems she's been frightened."

Zach turned pale with shock.

Sebastian slowly pinched her chin as if teasing her, "Ms. Mitchell, I wonder how those rumors about us started? You're clearly not my type."
