Chapter 331 Reinforcement Doctor Arrives

Up in the air, on Sebastian's private jet.

"Boss, we're still 10 hours out, even on the fastest route," Dario reported.

Sebastian lounged on the sofa of his swanky jet, feeling like he was in a five-star hotel suite, a purchase made for vacations with Brooklyn. If it weren't for what went down after their wedding, they would've already been jet-setting around the world, soaking in all the beautiful sights.

"Sebastian, I think there's a mix-up between Brooklyn and Zach. I don't believe they're actually involved," Quinn said, feeling uneasy. When Jennifer mentioned something shady between Brooklyn and Zach, he didn't buy it.

'Brooklyn's too proud. If she liked someone, she'd own up to it. Why sneak off to Jabari?' Quinn thought.

Sebastian shot Quinn a cold look. "Misunderstanding or not, we'll know once we find her."

'The real issue isn't that. Why did Brooklyn erase her boarding record? With her clout, how could the airline override her? Who's helping her? Zach? What kind of pull does a doctor have?' Sebastian was even more baffled.

At the earthquake site.

"There's a school up ahead. The quake hit during classes. We don't know the casualty count," a local said, wiping away tears, and told Zach the situation.

Hearing Zach's translation, Brooklyn was so worried she nearly broke her fingers from clenching them. "Let's head to the school first. The kids are the priority."

"Got it. I'll leave this to them and go with you to the school."

With medical kits in hand, the two trudged towards the school.

Behind them, a pair of eyes glinted coldly, narrowing fiercely.

Libertya, Aucester.

"Sebastian went to Malawa himself to find Brooklyn?" Piper angrily threw down the phone just as a meeting was about to start.

"Our hospital's medical team has been making a real impact in Malawa during the earthquake, and we're dispatching another team to continue the aid. This will help those in need and boost the hospital's reputation," George said.

Piper stood up first. "Dr. Clark, count me in!"

Aucester Hospital's second medical team took off, escorted by armed forces to save time and get there ASAP.

A fighter jet from Aucester to Malawa could hit speeds more than three times that of a commercial plane.

"Our country is really going all out for the earthquake relief. I mean, sending armed helicopters was a big deal, but fighter jets? That's on another level!" Piper sat in the cabin, eyes slightly closed, fingers clenched. She had to find Brooklyn before Sebastian and stop them from meeting.

Malawa.

After the earthquake, torrential rain poured down!

The rescue work was getting tougher by the minute. Injured folks kept pouring into the temporary mobile hospital, which was expanding but still couldn't keep up.

"It's sweltering, and with so many injured, the risk of infections spreading is sky-high," Brooklyn said.

"But the medical and rescue teams here are seriously lacking in gear. I mean, during the Quakevale earthquake, medical supplies arrived within three hours. We've been here over ten hours and still lack a lot of meds," Zach said.

'Over ten hours already? Time flies. I've been so busy I didn't even notice it's completely dark,' Brooklyn thought.

Zach had just finished two heart surgeries. Stepping out of the operating room, he saw injured people everywhere. "How many more critical patients? Get those surgeries lined up right away.."

"You can't keep pushing yourself like this; you're gonna burn out," a nurse remarked.

"I'm fine. Where's Dr. Mitchell?" Zach asked.

"Dr. Mitchell went out. There's a patient trapped under a rock, head injury..."

Before the nurse could finish, Zach took off his gloves and grabbed an umbrella. The rain was getting heavier. Brooklyn was on the ground, talking to the patient trapped inside, frowning as she thought, 'I don't understand their language. How am I talking to the patient?'

As he got closer, Zach heard Brooklyn singing to the child inside. "Twinkle, twinkle, little star, How I wonder what you are!..."

Even though they couldn't understand her words, the gentle melody of her song, like a warm hug, calmed the terrified child trapped beneath the rubble.

The rain poured down, soaking her clothes. Wet hair clung to her face as she inserted an IV into the crevice for the girl, with a nearby worker holding the bottle as two others dug at the rock.

Suddenly, an umbrella appeared above her head. Brooklyn finished bandaging the little girl and turned to see Zach holding the umbrella.

He was still in his surgical gown, his smile tired but warm. "Dr. Mitchell, I owe you a medal."

"How about an umbrella for now?" Brooklyn quipped.

"Absolutely! And the one holding it," he bantered, a faint smile playing on his lips.

Making sure the little girl had received nutrients, Brooklyn stood up. "I will keep the umbrella, but the person? Not a chance," she teased, matching his tone.

She stood up from the ground, her wet clothes clinging to her body. If it weren't for the lab coat, her slender figure would be more noticeable.

"The main team is here! Libertya's rescue team! Our country is awesome! I love you, Libertya!" Hearing the cheers, all the doctors looked up simultaneously. Sure enough, above them, fighter jets soared like eagles in the rain, flying the flag of Libertya.

It was the people from Libertya!

"That's great! That's great!"
