Chapter 306 Kicked Out of the Ward

Jennifer was on a mission, and she wasn't about to let Brooklyn get a word in. She had zero sympathy for Brooklyn's side of the story. If Brooklyn even tried to speak, Jennifer would kick her out of the Kingsley family without a second thought.

Quinn stepped up, trying to shield Brooklyn, his anger barely in check. He gave Jennifer a respectful nod. "Jennifer, we haven't gotten to the bottom of this yet. Let's not jump to conclusions. Maybe the reporters set Brooklyn up."

Jennifer slammed the lunchbox on the table, her eyebrows arching in a mocking sneer. "Out of everyone, they picked her? You must've done something to catch a man's eye, and now you're scared people will find out?"

Brooklyn wiped the food off her face and finally met Jennifer's gaze. "Jennifer, Zach and I are just friends. I'll prove it. But right now, Sebastian's in danger. Once he wakes up, I'll clear everything up."

Jennifer had been waiting for a chance to get rid of Brooklyn and wasn't about to let her stall. If Sebastian woke up, he'd protect Brooklyn, even if there was an issue.

"No need! Sebastian's my son. He's in a coma, and as his mother, I'll handle his affairs. Brooklyn, divorce Sebastian now!" Jennifer shouted.

Quinn stepped in between them. "Jennifer, a divorce needs both parties to sign. With Sebastian in a coma, how can he sign? Even if you want Brooklyn gone, you have to wait until he wakes up. Think about what'll happen if he wakes up and finds her gone."

Jennifer, fuming, slapped Quinn hard.

The sound echoed as Quinn's face took another hit.

Brooklyn trembled. "Quinn, are you okay?"

Jennifer pointed fiercely at the door. "Get out! Who gave you the right to speak here? Quinn, get out!"

Brooklyn held back her tears. "Jennifer, It's inappropriate to do this in front of Sebastian. Even in a coma, he can sense what's happening. How will you explain this when he wakes up?"

Jennifer's eyes were full of venom. "Brooklyn, I should ask you. How will you explain these news stories?" She shoved her phone in Brooklyn's face, her mocking smile more humiliating than a slap. "Brooklyn, you're a slut. Do you think I don't know how you got into Sebastian's bed? The Kingsley family won't tolerate a woman like you. You'll be kicked out sooner or later."

Seeing that Jennifer had calmed down a bit, Megan gently took her arm and said sweetly, "Mrs. Jennifer Kingsley, don't be mad. It's not worth it. I've known Brooklyn for years, and if I told you everything, you'd be even angrier. Please, just sit down and kick out the irrelevant person."

Brooklyn was forcibly kicked out of the hospital room. Standing outside, she wasn't allowed near the door, with security guards making sure she stayed away.

"If Sebastian were awake, they wouldn't dare treat you like this! Brooklyn, don't be sad. When he wakes up, I'll tell him everything that happened today. He'll definitely stand up for you!" Quinn said.

Brooklyn wiped the grease off her face and gave a bitter smile. "How do you expect him to stand up for me? By going against Jennifer? I don't want that. Don't tell him. I'll prove my innocence myself."

Quinn scratched his head in frustration. "Brooklyn, why are you so unlucky? How did the reporters catch such a small thing? Are you always this unlucky?"

Brooklyn's face was blank. "Quinn, you're more likable when you're not serious. I'm fine now. Since I can't get into the room, I'll leave it to you."

Quinn shrugged. "I asked the doctor. Sebastian will wake up soon. Don't worry. I'll keep you updated."

Brooklyn nodded. "Thanks, Quinn, for everything."

Quinn pouted. "Brooklyn, you're more likable when you're assertive. Being weak doesn't suit you. You need to rise up quickly!"

Brooklyn glared at him. "Aren't you leaving?"

Quinn laughed. "Alright! I'm outta here!"

Watching Quinn leave, Brooklyn shook her head helplessly. It was amazing how Quinn could stay so cheerful in a place like the Kingsley family.

As she stood up, Brooklyn suddenly felt dizzy, her feet unsteady like she was walking on uneven ground. She stumbled and hit the wall, gasping in pain.

"Are you okay?" Zach, who had come upstairs to check on Sebastian, happened to pass by and caught Brooklyn in his arms. He touched her forehead and quickly pulled his hand back. "Why are you so hot? You have a fever."

'But what is all this stuff on Brooklyn?' The sight of the black-clad men, like sentinels at the VIP ICU door, spoke volumes about the drama inside. Zach thought, 'The Kingsley family members are all despicable!'

Brooklyn struggled. "Let go of me, Zach. Let go of me."

Zach frowned, his brows furrowing deeply. "Why do you still care about rumors at a time like this? Brooklyn, live a little more freely, will you? Just be willful for once. Who can do anything to you?!"

His shout made her stop struggling, or maybe she was just too exhausted to fight anymore.
