Chapter 64 He's Truly Professional
Facing Brooklyn's stubbornness, Dr. Carter had no choice but to display the basic professionalism of a doctor to forcefully take her for a check-up. And so, the scene of Zach supporting Brooklyn with both hands fell into Sebastian's eyes.
Inside the car, Sebastian's long fingers trembled slightly, his eyebrows furrowed.
Brooklyn's days at the hospital seemed to be going surprisingly well?
"Dr. Carter, call security! I'm telling you to call security!"
Brooklyn struggled forcefully, almost pushing Zach away. Zach was taken aback. "Okay, you stand still, I'll make a call."
'Make a call? Shit!' She was so angry just now that she actually forgot she could make a call!
However, before Zach's call could go through, the door of the Rolls-Royce was pushed open by Sebastian.
"Mr. Kingsley! Mr. Kingsley! What is your relationship with Ms. Turner now?"
Brooklyn suddenly turned around.
Sebastian suddenly got out of the car. Megan was also startled, and then she pushed open the car door and got out. She was almost pushed down by the reporters, causing Brooklyn to take a sharp breath.
When Sebastian's arm protected her in a perfect posture, Brooklyn painfully realized how unnecessary her worries were.
"What relationship? Everyone will understand in the future. Now, please don't delay Megan's examination. If any harm comes to Megan due to your interference, I will definitely hold you accountable."
Brooklyn's fingers tightened on Zach's suit collar. Standing outside the crowd, she silently watched the entangled men and women in front of her, feeling very bitter.
Ridiculous, truly ridiculous.
Weren't they pretending not to want to be disturbed by the reporters? Now that they openly admitted it, why did it matter?
They said they wanted her to find security, but in reality, they wanted to distract the reporters and prevent her from being noticed by the reporters, right?
Why did they have to play it so complicated? If they wanted some private time, she could leave.
Sebastian's voice, which brooked no resistance, was astonishingly chilling. The reporters, unwilling to let go of this rare opportunity, dared not continue to pester them. The group slowly made way, following closely behind the tightly embracing couple to the elevator.
The reporters excitedly made phone calls to report their new discoveries, and the crowd dispersed like a receding tide.
"Dr. Mitchell?"
Zach called out, and only then did Brooklyn, who was tightly holding onto him, come back to her senses.
Brooklyn quickly let go of his collar, swiftly composed herself, and her voice turned as cold as if she had encountered an enemy. "Why are you still here?"
Zach was momentarily speechless. "Dr. Mitchell, you are holding onto my clothes. How can I leave?"
Brooklyn resumed her usual distant and cold demeanor, taking a step away from him. "Now, you can leave."
Zach couldn't help but chuckle. "Now? I can't leave now. My patient is here, and I must ensure the patient's safety."
Patient?
She was looking around when suddenly her foot felt light.
"Dr. Carter! What are you doing!"
"Medical examination."
The arrival of Sebastian and Megan attracted almost all the obstetrics and gynecology doctors and nurses.
The newly arrived nurse was particularly excited, craning her neck to see the true face of this national idol. If it weren't for the director of obstetrics and gynecology who still had some sense, the whole department would have become Megan's exclusive office.
Zach firmly pressed Brooklyn onto a chair in an office in the emergency room. "The wound on your knee needs to be disinfected and hemostasis now. If you want to keep your pants, you'll have to take them off."
"Just cut them open."
Brooklyn succinctly expressed her meaning, and Zach laughed after hearing it.
"You do live up to your reputation."
Brooklyn looked up at him. "You are flattering me."
Zach held the scissors, pinched a corner of her pants, gestured, and then made a horizontal cut on the pants just above her wound. Seeing her bloody and blurry wound, he smiled gently. "It will hurt when I disinfect and stop the bleeding later, so bear with it."
"Can you handle it or not? If you can, do it quickly. If not, I'll do it myself."
He talked a lot!
Zach squatted down, his hand resting on his knee. His fingers were clean and slender, very attractive, and his nails were trimmed into perfect semicircles.
These hands were unforgettable at first sight.
"Of course, I can, bear with it."
He gently dabbed a cotton ball on her wound, the disinfection process was painful, her skin felt like it was about to split open. Enduring the intense pain, Brooklyn gritted her teeth, making no sound.
He was quite surprised. "Does it hurt?"
"Do you want to try?"
"Me? Nah, I'll pass."
Zach quickly dealt with the external wound, and surprisingly, Brooklyn only felt a slight pain during disinfection, and then she felt quite comfortable.
The bandage he applied was better looking than the one she had applied before, and it didn't hinder her movements at all. Just based on this, he was truly professional.
"Thank you, Dr. Carter. If there's nothing else, I'll leave now."
Brooklyn stood up, leaving after saying a few words.
Zach tidied up his tools, smiled warmly without hurry. "Dr. Mitchell, that doesn't sound a very appreciative."
"Sorry, that's my only tone, whether you accept it or not is up to you."
After saying that, Brooklyn stepped out without caring about the blood-stained torn pants on her knee, with her foot already outside the door.
Zach looked at the bottle of medicine in his hand, smiled helplessly. "Dr. Mitchell, what's your relationship with those two who were surrounded by reporters just now?"
