Chapter 170 All Originate From Love

"Sorry, Mr. Kingsley, Mrs. Kingsley isn't available right now. However, I'll be nice and show you what she looks like now."

Loren took a photo of Brooklyn's disheveled appearance and sent it to Sebastian, whose tall figure swayed slightly. His hand briefly touched the back of a chair before he regained his composure.

"You have one hour, Sebastian. I advise you not to be a smartass. Since we dared to kidnap Ms. Mitchell, we are prepared to kill her. If you dare to challenge us, we'll see who is more willing to sacrifice."

With that, the call ended.

Sebastian set down his phone, and his icy voice echoed in the silent room, "Dario, come with me."

Ten minutes later, Dario reached the CEO's office at MBK International Building.

"Mr. Kingsley, how is Mrs. Kingsley doing?"

Sebastian waved his hand to stop Dario, "Have the finance department cash out one hundred million dollars in twenty minutes, convert it to government bonds, and bring it to me."

"Is it money they want?"

Sebastian nodded slowly, "Yes. Prepare the money and bring the armored vehicle over."

A sheen of sweat appeared on Dario's forehead, "Yes, sir!"

After giving the orders, Sebastian opened the office's embedded safe, turned the dial, and retrieved a handgun.

Even alone, he wouldn't give the enemy a chance to take advantage of him.

Twenty minutes later, Dario entered with a large box filled with government bonds worth one hundred million dollars, enough to fill a room to the brim in cash.

"Mr. Kingsley, you're on your own. The kidnappers won't release Mrs. Kingsley so easily." Dario held onto the box tightly.

In Dario's mind, although Brooklyn's life would be worth way more than one hundred million dollars, no one's life could compare to Sebastian's.

"Put the box down."

Gritting his teeth, Dario hesitated, "Mr. Kingsley, you're the CEO of MBK Group. You're Sebastian Kingsley, who would shake Aucester to its core."

Sebastian's silent gaze swept over him, "She can't be harmed, and I won't either."

Gritting his teeth, Dario said, "I'll have someone follow you discreetly, undetected."

"No!"

Sebastian, normally unafraid of even death, was now unwilling to take risks. He couldn't risk Brooklyn's safety.

"At least let us know you're safe. Going alone..."

"I will come back alive."

His certainty and coldness made Dario feel like his concerns were insulting Sebastian's intelligence, so he fell silent.

Sebastian called a number, "The money is ready. I'll go alone. Give me the address."

"Very efficient! Good."

With the address in hand, Sebastian picked up the box and headed downstairs.

Meanwhile, in the abandoned suburban house, the tape over Brooklyn's mouth was finally torn off.

"Bastards! What do you want from him?"

"What do we want? You'll find out soon."

Brooklyn gritted her teeth, "Don't you ever think you can use me to threaten him!"

She realized they planned to use her to manipulate Sebastian, to make him come alone and under their control.

She never allowed this to happen!

"Gorgeous, did you just figure it out? But Sebastian works efficiently. He has prepared one hundred million dollars in less than twenty minutes. It seems he really cares about you!"

"Nonsense! We're about to divorce. Cares about me? He wants to kill you bastards with his bare hands so that you don't dirty his eyes!"

Before Brooklyn could finish, she was viciously slapped on the left side of her face, blood trickling from the corner of her mouth, a crimson stain.

"Divorce? But your soon-to-be ex-husband, Sebastian, has arrived. Soon, you can be reunited."

Brooklyn thought, 'What! Sebastian really comes here!'

'He doesn't love me anddoesn't care about me, so why does he come?'

Brooklyn could die, but Sebastian absolutely couldn't.

A myriad of thoughts raced through Brooklyn's mind; memories replayed rapidly. She found herself willing to die for him.

How pathetic! But she couldn't deny it.

"You won't have the chance. Before he arrives, I..." Brooklyn didn't finish her sentence, fiercely biting her tongue!

If someone had to die, it would be her!

"Damn!"

Loren viciously kicked Brooklyn in the abdomen, causing her body to convulse in pain. Her teeth loosened, blood filling her mouth. She had a metallic taste.

Biting her tongue to death was proving difficult! Wasn't it supposed to have a high success rate? From a medical standpoint, it was feasible!

The stabbing pain in her abdomen left Brooklyn on the pole, unable to regain her composure for a while. Her hands were immobilized, so she could only squeeze her eyes shut for relief.

Sebastian arrived at the first location but found it deserted.

They had him come here first to see if anyone was following him, a common trick.

The phone rang again.

"Mr. Kingsley, you're cooperating well. Now, head west for ten miles. You'll see it."

"I need to ensure her safety this time. Not in a photo!"

With a last flicker of hope in his heart, Sebastian hoped it was a hoax. He didn't care about the loss; he wanted Brooklyn unharmed!

"Okay."

Loren filmed a video of Brooklyn bound to the pole, her face and body covered in blood. Staring into the camera, she shook her head vigorously.

Sebastian's last hope was extinguished.

He keenly felt what heartbreak was and understood what it meant to ache.

All the heartbreak and pain stemmed from one word: love.

He was in deep love with Brooklyn, despite hating the feeling of being controlled by emotions. But he was truly in deep love with Brooklyn.

'Brooklyn, please wait for me. I'm coming to save you.'

Sebastian gripped the steering wheel, following the kidnapper's instructions, pressed the accelerator to the floor. Ten miles passed in the blink of an eye.

In the desolate suburbs, devoid of life, stood an abandoned two-story building in the distance.

Here, Brooklyn was inside.

Dear CEO, Please Be Gentle!
