Chapter 325 The Passionate Desert

"Zach, did you just call me an idiot?" Brooklyn asked, her voice tinged with disbelief.

He didn't even bother to answer, just kept yelling, "You're the biggest fool in the world!"

'You called me an idiot first! I'm gonna call you one back,' Brooklyn thought. She stood up and shouted with all her might, "Zach! You're the idiot! You're a big idiot!"

"Yeah, Zach is an idiot!" After shouting, he burst into laughter. The laughter quickly faded into the vast desert, carried away by the wind.

Brooklyn laughed heartily, "You're an idiot! I'm an idiot too! Brooklyn, you're a big idiot!"

"Brooklyn, you just admitted you're an idiot," he shouted, his usually gentle voice now carrying a wild edge.

Brooklyn continued, "Zach, you're an idiot, you're a brute! You actually got into a fight! You fought!"

They stood there, hands on their hips, glaring at each other, while the camel behind them stared blankly at the two lunatics.

A strong wind blew, and as Brooklyn opened her mouth, a gust of sand blew right into it!

Brooklyn curled her tongue and spat out the sand, the gritty sound of sand grinding in her mouth. She chewed the sand and laughed until she cried, "I really am an idiot!"

Seeing her bright smile, he felt it was all worth it. He just hoped that every day from now on, she could be this happy. He would do everything to protect her, no matter what.

Zach handed her a water bottle, "You really are an idiot. Rinse your mouth. Don't open it when the wind blows, or you'll eat a mouthful of sand."

Brooklyn took a couple of gulps and spat out the water, "At first, it makes a sound when you eat it, but actually, if you eat more, it doesn't taste that bad."

Zach looked horrified and touched her forehead. "No fever, why are you talking nonsense?"

She looked serious, not joking at all. "You don't believe me? Try it yourself. It tastes pretty good."

Saying that, Brooklyn grabbed a handful of sand and tried to feed it to Zach. He dodged in panic, and Brooklyn chased him even more vigorously, "Come on! It really tastes good! Try it."

Zach dodged on the sand dunes, protecting his mouth while shouting, "You eat it yourself! Eat more!"

"It really tastes good!" Brooklyn seemed to turn into a wild Jabari resident, temporarily forcing herself to forget the long-suppressed pain. She became an ostrich, burying her head in the sand, telling herself she was fine.

Zach's foot slipped, and he fell into the sand. Brooklyn chased closely, grabbed at his clothes but missed, and fell hard onto him.

Her whole body pressed down on him.

The wind blew, and Brooklyn lifted her head, looking at Zach's gentle face, slightly reddened by the sun, giving him a different kind of charm.

The scent of sweat mixed with male hormones filled her nose.

Brooklyn awkwardly tried to get up, but the soft sand made her sink deeper, pressing them even closer together.

Zach smiled slightly, looking at her red face, not sure if it was from shyness or sunburn. His lips curved into a sexy smile as he said, "Dr. Mitchell, are you deliberately throwing yourself at me?"

Brooklyn grabbed a handful of sand to break the awkwardness and tried to attack his mouth, "I'm giving you sand!"

She tried to shove the sand into his mouth with her small fist, "Try it!"

"You little rascal!" He turned his face and laughed heartily, grabbing her wrist with his big hand and flipping over, pinning Brooklyn beneath him.

It seemed like a natural counterattack, but Zach was surprised to find Brooklyn lying in his arms and facing him. Zach's breath caught, and his strength seemed to vanish.

Brooklyn's hands were pinned by him, lying weakly in the soft sand, her hair flying, with a strand tickling his neck, making him feel itchy.

Brooklyn's bright, pure eyes were like lakes in the desert, reflecting a mesmerizing light.

A moment of eye contact, a brief pause, a lingering warmth.

Zach's Adam's apple bobbed up and down, and he couldn't help but lean in...

Brooklyn's eyes widened in shock as she saw his gentle lips getting closer. The warm breath was more intense than the sun above the desert, almost melting her skin and blood.

Zach slowly closed his eyes, pressing his body towards her, sensing the cool, pleasant scent on Brooklyn. His heartbeat went wild, as if out of control.

Brooklyn, like being electrocuted, turned her lips away at the last moment.

Zach's lips landed on her cheek, soft and warm. He opened his eyes, his face flushed. "I..."

Brooklyn bit her lip and suddenly laughed, "You think you can escape? Come on, eat the sand!"

"You little trickster, see how I fight back!"

Brooklyn laughed. "Come on, I'm not afraid of you!"

Three days later.

The Kingsley Villa, Aucester.

"Mr. Kingsley, here's what you requested."

Brian nodded and took a thick manila envelope. "What did Sebastian find?"

"Mr. Sebastian Kingsley's men seemed to have returned empty-handed."

"Keep watching," Brian ordered.

"Yes, sir! But, Mr. Kingsley, you've already sent her abroad. Is this still necessary?"

"I sent her away, but Sebastian has ways to bring her back," Brian said.

The man in black nodded, understanding, "Mr. Kingsley, you are very thoughtful."

The study door was closed, and Brian opened the envelope.
