Chapter 288 Zach Beat Sebastian Up

In the quiet hospital hallway, Sebastian and Zach were parked on a bench, the air getting stuffed and thick with tension.

Sebastian shut his eyes in pain, but didn’t say a word.

Zach’s hands just dangled there, resting on the armrests, and he closed his eyes, too, saying, "When a man act on instinct, it shows what they really feel. Mr. Kingsley, ask yourself. Do you actually care about Brooklyn, really love her, or are you just stuck on the last three years?"

Zach’s words were straight-up sincere, no drama, and he wasn’t even loud.

However, did they hit Sebastian hard. He thought, 'Instinct? I just saved Megan, no denying that. What was I thinking? I saw Brooklyn nearby, but I went for Megan.'

His fingers were all sooty as he dropped his hand to the side of the chair, letting out a cold laugh. "Zach, you feeling all high and mighty now?"

Zach’s throat was dry and sore. He coughed hard, spitting out some nasty black stuff, and after a few more coughs, he finally said, "I just want her to be happy, with someone who really cares. But after today, I don’t know if that’s you."

Sebastian’s good looks were messed up by the soot. He still managed a light smile, full of that natural sharpness and arrogance. "Zach, she’s my wife, and she’ll always be."

'I’m not letting go, even if I can’t explain it to Zach right now,' Sebastian thought.

Zach grabbed Sebastian’s tie, staring him down. Their faces were a mess, but their eyes said it all. Zach’s gaze turned sharp and cold. "Sebastian, do you get off on torturing her? Haven’t the last three years been enough? How much more do you want to hurt her? Has she had a single good day with you?"

Sebastian let Zach yank his tie, sitting still, his posture screaming authority. "Zach, didn’t think you’d lose your cool. But seriously, why are you mad? When did Brooklyn and my business become yours? Don’t forget, we’re married."

In other words, Zach should know his place. Some things just aren’t his to mess with.

The veins on the back of Zach’s hands bulged, his anger and heartache trapped inside. But he couldn’t beat Sebastian’s words. 'Damn it! I wish I could take Brooklyn away right now!'

Zach clenched his fist and landed a solid punch on Sebastian’s left cheek. Blood oozed from the corner of Sebastian’s mouth.

Sebastian didn’t see that coming. He slowly wiped the blood away, giving Zach a contemptuous smile. "Zach, you looking for trouble?"

Zach wasn’t scared, pulling back his fist and snorting, "Sebastian, I won’t let anyone who hurts her get away with it, including you. Be ready; I could take her away anytime. You don’t deserve to be her husband!"

Sebastian gathered his strength and punched Zach in the face. Blood mixed with soot, dripping down.

Zach laughed. "Sebastian, you don’t deserve her love at all!"

Sebastian leaned back against the chair, both he and Zach stretching out their legs, almost taking up the whole hallway.

Sebastian sneered, "Zach, don’t think you can have her!"

"Mr. Kingsley! You okay?" Dario scuttered over, wondering what was up with the outfit and the blood.

Sebastian closed his eyes and nodded.

Dario pulled out a handkerchief to wipe the black and red off Sebastian’s face, but Sebastian stopped him. "What did the cops say?"

"No evidence left at the scene, not even fingerprints. We’ll have to wait until Mrs. Kingsley and Ms. Turner wake up to dig deeper," Dario reported.

Sebastian stood up, holding onto the chair. "What else?"

Dario glanced at Zach, lowered his voice, and looked a bit worried. "Mr. Kingsley, Mr. and Mrs. Turner and Mrs. Jennifer Kingsley heard the news and are on their way. I’m afraid..."

Sebastian hated this kind of mess. "Alright."
