Chapter 82 Tell the Truth

The onlookers who were waiting for a show left disappointed, and Brooklyn's tense expression relaxed.

Inside the elevator, Brooklyn politely said, "Thank you just now."

The people behind Zach were tactful and left the elevator to the two of them. Despite the confines of the small space, the atmosphere shifted. Their moods, too, underwent a subtle transformation.

"If you really want to thank me, don't put on a face like I owe you money. The matter has been resolved. Why are you still in a bad mood?" Zach joked.

Brooklyn chuckled unexpectedly. "I didn't expect Mr. Carter, who looks gentle and refined, to be so fierce when dealing with reporters."

She thought, 'Was his eloquence honed through participating in numerous debate competitions?'

Zach looked at his right hand that had just held her fingers and smiled. "I also didn't expect to have such explosive power. Have you done experiments in biology class? Sometimes, eagles can confront a wolf when protecting their eaglets."

It seems like this metaphor is a bit off.

Brooklyn was truly amused this time. "I see. You just had a burst of maternal love. Thank you, mother eagle, for teaching the eaglet."

Zach furrowed his brow with his long fingers. "By the way, can I ask, what is your relationship with Sebastian? The way you looked at him just now seemed special."
It was his second time questioning, but she evaded the question in the same manner.

"It's nothing," Brooklyn replied nonchalantly.

It seemed that his guess was correct; Brooklyn's mysterious husband was indeed Sebastian.

He didn't expect that Brooklyn's husband turned out to be such a difficult person to deal with. Zach frowned, realizing that pursuing Brooklyn had become much more challenging; Sebastian was a hard nut to crack.

"It seems like I need to adjust my strategy," he muttered to himself.

"What strategy?"

"The poaching strategy."

To prove Brooklyn's innocence, Zach, in his capacity as the vice dean, ordered a thorough investigation into the blood supplements Megan was taking and requested testing of Megan's blood and urine.

When Megan heard about the tests, her expression immediately changed, and she adamantly refused.

Sebastian stood at the bedside, and the doctor in charge of collecting samples dared not force her.

"Mr. Kingsley, this concerns the innocence and professional career of our hospital's doctors. I hope you can get Ms. Turner to cooperate." The doctor explained.

"I won't be tested! This is humiliating to me! Sebastian, make them leave!" Megan refused.

Sebastian looked down at her. "You should cooperate with the blood test."

Megan cried loudly, "I won't! You just don't trust me! Bring Brooklyn here to confront me! Ask her if she has thoughts of killing me!" She cried and made a scene, leaving the doctor unsure of how to proceed, so he had no choice but to leave.

After the doctor left, Sebastian firmly held Megan's struggling hand. "Are you not planning to tell the truth?"

Megan widened her eyes, looking at him uneasily, avoiding his gaze. "What do you mean by that, Sebastian?"

Sebastian let go of her hand. "Then think carefully about what I mean."

As soon as he finished speaking, despite her attempts to stop him, Sebastian left the ward and immediately called Dario, "Have someone keep an eye on her."

"Yes, boss. How should we handle the reporters from earlier?" Dario asked.

"Leave the stuff behind, let the people go," Sebastian commanded.

Judging by his tone, it wasn't as simple as just letting the people go. Dario thought to himself that someone was in trouble.

"Yes, boss. Should I go check on Mrs. Kingsley? She must be feeling terrible after what happened."

"You just need to do your job!" Sebastian replied coldly.

Dario, on the other end, didn't dare to act on his own, but he couldn't help but feel that Mrs. Kingsley was the one who suffered the most in this situation. Mr. Kingsley didn't inquire further; he was starting to feel sorry for Mrs. Kingsley.

"Delete the posts on the forum." Before hanging up the phone, he ordered and then added, "Block his account."

"Yes! Mr. Kingsley, rest assured." Dario responded.

After giving the orders, Sebastian walked out of the hospital gates, sat in his Rolls-Royce feeling irritable, and slammed his fist on the steering wheel.

The image of Zach shielding Brooklyn in the corridor made him furious! What was even more infuriating was that she allowed Zach to embrace her without resistance!

Sebastian was filled with anger; he really wanted to interrogate and find out that man in last night's picture and the relationship between the man and Brooklyn.

Was the man on the forum him? Was the male doctor Quinn mentioned him?

Hopefully, the truth was not what he imagined!

Because an enraged Sebastian was capable of doing anything!
