Chapter 80 Are You Pregnant Too?
Sebastian had just shown a hint of pity, but now it was extinguished by her dominance.
Since she was so capable, it seemed she could handle the slander herself!
The news of Megan being taken to the hospital by Sebastian spread like wildfire, and reporters rushed to various parts of the hospital within minutes.
Even more surprisingly, they managed to bypass the security guards and actually made it to the obstetrics and gynecology department!
Aucester Hospital was bustling today, with Megan receiving treatment, Mr. Kingsley from MBK Group waiting, and even the hottest topic, Brooklyn, standing at the entrance of the obstetrics and gynecology department.
The reporters seized the opportunity.
"Miss Brooklyn, someone has revealed that you engaged in inappropriate intimate behavior with a stranger in the office during the night shift. Can you confirm this?"
"Dr. Mitchell, not long ago you successfully defused a medical dispute and received a collective apology from the patient's family, creating a new relationship between doctors and patients' families. Was there any behind-the-scenes manipulation involved?"
"Dr. Mitchell, who was the man last night? What is your relationship? Are you lovers? Or just strangers as the informant claimed?"
Lovers?
Upon hearing this word, Sebastian, who had his back to the reporters, frowned. He remained silent, waiting for her response.
Meanwhile, Brooklyn quickly glanced at Sebastian's reaction.
As expected, he showed no reaction.
Not being Megan, Brooklyn had not received professional public relations training and couldn't come up with any grandiose words. She spoke from her heart, unafraid and unyielding, saying nothing.
Sebastian remained silent throughout, as if he didn't even know the woman in front of him. At that moment, the door to the attending physician's office opened, and as a companion, Sebastian walked in.
In the corridor, the reporters' questions continued to bombard her, with no one to shield her. She didn't expect him to help her, but she couldn't accept that Sebastian had simply left her behind. He didn't even offer a minimum of pity.
"Dr. Mitchell, you are a cardiologist, why are you here?"
"Brooklyn, are you here for a pregnancy check-up too? Whose child are you carrying?"
Pregnancy check-up? Pregnant? The reporters' on-site skills were impressive.
Brooklyn was irritated by the questions and the situation was not in her favor, she had to leave quickly!
As she tried to leave, the office door was pushed open, and Sebastian came out carrying Megan. Fragile Megan nestled in his arms, their intimate display of affection was envied by onlookers.
"She's coming out! Megan is coming out!"
With that announcement, she was pushed and jostled by the reporters, her shoulders and feet taking several hard hits. She endured the pain, along with the nauseating screams and laughter in her ears.
As a minor character, even if she caused a scandal, she couldn't compare to Megan's casual appearance. She lifted her feet and left the obstetrics and gynecology department.
She left behind the noise and excitement.
She thought she could walk away like an outsider, but she didn't expect that the high and mighty woman would directly drag her into hell with just a few words.
"Dr. Mitchell, where are you going?"
The microphone amplified a light and airy sentence hundreds of times, echoing through the corridor.
The reporters were excited, thrilled!
Did Megan, the big star, actually have a connection with an ordinary doctor?
Brooklyn's steps suddenly halted, unable to move any further.
Megan gently tugged at Sebastian's collar, her face filled with grievance and tears. She spoke with restraint and sorrow, "Dr. Mitchell, I once asked you to help me prepare medication for pregnancy, but I never expected you to tamper with the medicine, trying to kill my child."
A cardiologist preparing medication for Megan and trying to kill her child! What was going on?
"Ms. Turner, what is your relationship with Brooklyn?"
"Do you have any personal grievances between you?"
The reporters' hearts were in their throats. This news was too explosive! Even more so than office romances!
Megan looked at Sebastian, his expression unchanged. After hearing the doctor's words and Megan's tearful confession, his internal balance had already shifted.
Megan continued, "Dr. Mitchell, we've known each other at least once. We were friends at least once. How could you treat me like this out of jealousy for my fame, jealousy that I found a good man?"
Everyone showed surprised expressions! Brooklyn was Megan's friend, and she tried to harm her child out of jealousy?!
Megan's move was too ruthless! Too absurd!
Brooklyn widened her eyes, incredulous, "What did you say?! Megan!"
Megan smiled softly, "If you don't admit it, it's fine. I don't want to hold you accountable. I'm just disappointed about our past friendship."
The reporters went crazy! The microphones were all aimed at Brooklyn, like grenades ready to explode her!
"Dr. Mitchell, did you use your identity as a doctor to frame Ms. Turner?"
"Dr. Mitchell, this is illegal and could lead to revocation of your medical license!"
"Dr. Mitchell, are you trying to kill someone under the guise of medical practice, aren't you? Aren't you afraid of facing the consequences with your life?"
The increasingly aggressive questioning, the escalating bullying, engulfed her like a torrential flood.
Her gaze pierced through the bloodthirsty reporters, straight to Sebastian and Megan. She smiled bitterly, her throat dry and unable to utter a word.
Sebastian's peerless face, untainted by dust, perfect in every way, his deep eyes shimmering, his thin lips sealed.
He had everything except for any trace of compassion towards her.
Her heart was crushed.
"What are you all doing!" A cold, commanding voice cut through the corridor, interrupting the reporters' noisy and disrespectful behavior.
A white figure walked towards them, shining in the light.
Zach was followed by several hospital leaders, their white figures overpowering the group of reporters.
Brooklyn raised her eyes in astonishment, and her gaze met Zach's in the air.
