Chapter 343 Reunion

A dozen hours later...

Aucester International Airport.

Scarlett, rocking a pair of sunglasses, strolled out of the airport, dragging a sleek white suitcase behind her and strutting in high heels.

Stepping outside, she was startled by the huge crowd of Libertyans, feeling uneasy seeing so many of them in one place for the first time.

Dodging the bustling crowd, Scarlett finally managed to flag down a relatively clean taxi.

"Where to, miss?" the driver asked.

Scarlett pulled out her phone, checked the map, and found the name of a hotel. "Maple Bridge Road, Nightfall Hotel."

"Got it," the driver replied.

They took the airport route into the city, cruising down Enchanted Grove Avenue. But as soon as they hit the city center, they got stuck in traffic, which startled Scarlett again. "How much longer is this gonna take?"

The driver looked a bit sheepish. "Sorry, miss. It's rush hour. Usually lasts about thirty minutes. This road's the worst. Once we get past the intersection, it should clear up. Turn left up ahead, and you'll be on Maple Bridge Road."

'Thirty minutes?!' Scarlett thought, checking her map again. If she walked, it would only take a bit over twenty minutes. "I'll get off here, thanks."

She handed the driver a hundred-dollar bill.

The driver, unable to make change, gave her an awkward smile. "No need, consider it a good deed."

"Thanks," Scarlett said.

Having lived in Averlake for years, Scarlett was well-versed in its books, movies, culture, and language. But how she could speak Libertya's language and remember all her medical knowledge so clearly was a mystery. When her mind was blank, her life revolved around the scalpel.

Dragging her suitcase, Scarlett walked along the sidewalk. Tall maple trees cast shadows, blocking most of the sunlight. Realizing she was in Libertya, she took off her sunglasses, letting her elegant face soak up the sun as she moved forward.

This was Libertya.

Her first impressions? Lots of people, lots of cars, and lots of buildings.

She turned left at the intersection onto Maple Bridge Road, which was indeed free of traffic. Shops lined both sides, their signs all in Libertya's language!

She'd never seen so many Libertya characters in her life.

Then again, her memory of her life seemed pretty short.

Scarlett looked up at a towering skyscraper behind a shopping mall, dominating the surrounding buildings. The white glass walls displayed prominent golden reliefs spelling out "MBK Group." Even from a distance, the building was impressive, probably a landmark.

Lost in thought, Scarlett kept walking, still staring up at the building.

Suddenly, a black car hit her suitcase, causing her to lose balance, fall, and release the handle.

'Damn it! I just got here and already had an accident!' Scarlett thought, fuming as she pushed herself up from the ground, glaring at the black Rolls-Royce in front of her.

Yep, there were definitely a lot of rich folks in Libertya, and some of them had zero manners.

The driver, a young guy, hopped out. Seeing Scarlett on the ground, Owen bent down, looking apologetic. "Miss, are you alright?"

Scarlett brushed off her hands. "Judging by the impact, my pain level suggests muscle damage. And you didn't slow down in a busy area, ignoring pedestrians. I could sue you for intentional harm."

Owen was taken aback, not expecting to run into someone who'd accuse him of hitting them on purpose.

These days, even people who staged accidents to get money were young and beautiful.

"Miss, weren't you the one not paying attention to the traffic lights? The light ahead turned green, and you had already crossed the warning line," Owen retorted.

Scarlett was now sitting on the curb, right between the pedestrian and vehicle lanes. "Sir, it's common courtesy for cars to give way to pedestrians. Please apologize."

Scarlett showed no sign of adapting to local customs. Her strict adherence to the law and meticulousness screamed Averlake style. But she forgot that in Aucester, there was someone who was the law.

Owen looked a bit troubled, bending down to help her up, but Scarlett dodged him, preferring not to be touched by strangers. She stood up on her own, dusting off her clothes. "Apologize."

At that moment, the rear window of the Rolls-Royce slowly rolled down, revealing a young, sharp face that radiated brilliance.

Inside the pitch-black car, Sebastian's chiseled face was cold and aloof, with an air of indifference and handsomeness, and a hint of arrogance in his side profile.

He leaned lazily against the seat, clearly having been resting with his eyes closed. His handsome face, though tired, was irresistibly sexy and powerful.

"Owen, what's going on?" Sebastian's voice was disdainful and impatient.

"Sir, there's a lady who seems to have deliberately crashed into the car to extort money." Owen hesitated, feeling that the phrase "deliberately crashed into the car to extort money" was a bit harsh, but he couldn't think of a better way to put it.

'Deliberately crash into the car to extort money?' Scarlett thought, realizing the driver wasn't the car owner.

Scarlett walked to the window, her delicate face showing a faint smile. Because she was angry, her voice was tense, almost unrecognizable. "Sir, your car hit me. I need a reasonable explanation and a sincere apology."

Sebastian didn't even glance at her, his thin lips curving into a slight, contemptuous, disdainful, lazy, and cold smile. "Owen, since she deliberately crashed into the car to extort money, get in the car and hit her properly once."
