Chapter 408 The Woman I Still Want to Marry

In the evening, at Sebastian's private villa.

"The plane leaves tomorrow afternoon, you can read some magazines on the plane, have a good sleep at night, and when you wake up, you'll be in Emporcia."

Leaning against the door of Scarlett's bedroom, Sebastian didn't interfere with anything. He just stood there, watching her open the suitcase and place items inside one by one.

Scarlett was a meticulous person, probably a habit of being a surgeon. Everything had to be neatly arranged and clearly categorized.

Her nimble hands moved between different items, her fingers as delicate as green onions, picking up things with a pinch, a lift, or a hold, skillful and serene.

Even without looking at her face, just those hands could make anyone feel at ease.

Scarlett methodically organized the suitcase, looked up at Sebastian, and couldn't help but smile, "Sebastian, I hardly recognize you now."

Sebastian crossed his arms, changed to a more comfortable position, took his hands out of his pockets, and crossed them over his chest, chatting with her, "What do you mean?"

Scarlett frowned, struggling with which corner to stuff a small item into, and took a moment to look up again, "When I first met you, you were domineering, rude, and barbaric. You even privately detained my assistant. You were practically a bandit."

Sebastian's brows slowly furrowed. He pondered Scarlett's evaluation of him, which was indeed bad. She even used the word "bandit." Hopefully, he hadn't caused any psychological trauma to her.

"And now? After hearing your complete denial of my character, I'm utterly ashamed. If it weren't for my reluctance to leave you, I might have suicided."

He smiled, his natural and noble demeanor enough to make anyone's heart flutter.

Scarlett thought for a moment and gave a fair assessment, "Now, you're very gentle, though I don't know if you hide any ulterior motives. You're very patient and considerate, qualities you never showed before. Likewise, I can't tell if there's another agenda behind it."

Indeed, Scarlett's sharp tongue could make even a compliment unpleasant.

Sebastian rubbed his brow in frustration, his fingers sliding from his brow to his forehead, "It seems earning your complete trust will take some effort."

Scarlett finally decided not to take the small items, placing them in the dresser drawer. She hesitated, wondering if she would ever return here.

On the bed were her clothes, some to take, most to leave behind. She decided to throw them away, but...

After a moment's hesitation, Scarlett turned to Sebastian, "There are some things I can't take with me..."

Sebastian interrupted her, decisively making the decision for her, "This room will be kept exactly as it is for you, no matter when you come back."

Scarlett clenched the small itemsin her hand, gripping it tightly, and decided to be clear, "Sebastian, my engagement with Kevin is at the end of the month.I might marry him, and then I probably won't come back."

Sebastian listened with extreme patience and gentleness, then raised his left eyebrow, resting his chin on his fingers, and hesitated for a moment, "Hearing you say that, I suddenly don't want to let you go. What should I do?"

This fool, telling him she might not come back before even leaving, wasn't this forcing Sebastian to kidnap her?

Scarlett was speechless. "I'm serious."

Sebastian nodded, "I'm not joking either. If letting you go means risking you never coming back, then I'd rather be untrustworthy once."

He said this, but he was certain in his heart that Scarlett would definitely come back.

Even if she didn't, his influence could reach any corner of the world.

Scarlett shrugged, "Well, you still haven't changed your bandit nature."

Sebastian finally moved from the doorframe, walking behind Scarlett, looking at the clothes on the bed, "What's with these?"

"I'm about to throw them away."

Sebastian nodded, "They should be thrown away."

The bed was covered with clothes, all either black, white, or gray. Hardly a woman's style.

"What do you mean? Disdain my things?" Scarlett was indignant. She could treat them as trash, but others couldn't.

"The colors are too dark, not suitable for you. Throw them away and buy new ones." Sebastian imagined Scarlett wearing a few of the clothes she picked up.

"Buy new ones? Mr. Kingsley, you're quite generous."

Last time he told her to buy clothes, he didn't give her a pennymoney, claiming she had money.

Sebastian also thought of that incident, his elegance tinged with embarrassment, "Yes, buy new ones. I'll pay, no matter what you buy, it's on me."

"So, debit card or credit card, hand it over." Scarlett really extended her hand, determined to play a joke on him.

Sebastian's gaze lingered on her small hand, "You're not cut out for business. Can't you think long-term?"

"What do you mean?"

Sebastian patted her shoulder, hinting at offering himself, "If you take my card, you'll eventually max it out. Why not take me, lifetime validity, only appreciating, never depreciating."

Scarlett rolled his eyes, "You're narcissistic!"

The two chatted casually, and Sebastian's phone rang.

Seeing the name on the screen, Sebastian's face turned from rosy to ashen.

"You go ahead, I'll take a call."

After saying, Sebastian didn't leave the room but stepped directly onto the balcony. Scarlett's white bath towel was hanging there, exuding the same scent as her.

Sebastian closed the glass door with a flip of his hand, "Dad."

"Sebastian! Are you trying to rebel? Get back here immediately!"

Sebastian squinted his eyes, it seemed to be about the project. "I'm at my place in the suburbs, it's inconvenient."

Brian was furious. Before Sebastian could speak, there was the sound of porcelain shattering. Sebastian moved the phone away from his ear a bit.

"Are you planning to blow up the Serenity Street mall?" Brian shouted.

Indeed.

"Yes, the mall has serious safety hazards. If we don't proactively destroy it, a collapse event could cause even greater losses. Blowing it up voluntarily will eliminate future risks, it's the best decision."

Brian was so angry he stomped in his study, grabbing a wooden pen holder from his desk and smashing it against the wall. The pen holder bounced several times before hitting the ground, scattering pens everywhere. "You bastard! I think you want to blow me up along with the mall! I don't care where you are, get back to The Kingsley Villa now!"

Sebastian had anticipated this when he bypassed Brian to issue the order. However, Brian's response was surprisingly quick, already confronting him about it now.

This also indicated that the demolition was progressing smoothly.

Sebastian put his phone back in his pocket and looked up at the white bath towel, clean and fresh. He couldn't help but sniff it, feeling a bit conflicted. Damn, was he really this crazy now?

Through the balcony glass, Scarlett had already heard the angry voice on the phone. She couldn't hear the content, but the tone was fierce.

"Scarlett, I need to go out tonight. Stay home and don't go out. Call me if anything happens. The villa has an alarm system, security will arrive within two minutes if it's triggered."

Did he really need to explain so much just for going out?

The Kingsley Villa

"Tell me! Why did you have to blow it up now? The group invested $1.4 billion, and this is a critical time for the funds to return. Besides, it's just a potential hazard! Who told you it would definitely happen?"

As soon as Sebastian entered, he was met with Brian's furious tirade. Brian's tall, straight figure stood under the slanting light of The Kingsley Villa's luxurious crystal chandelier. The light highlighted one side of his face while the other side was shrouded in darkness, making his expression difficult to read in detail.

In a deep, resolute tone, as always, Sebastian said, "Even the smallest possibility, once known in advance, must be nipped in the bud. It's a matter of great importance, and we cannot risk people's lives."

If the mall were to be used and a problem occurred, the loss wouldn't just be the construction cost, it would also cost many lives.

Brian sneered, "Since when did the cold-hearted Mr. Sebastian Kingsley become so compassionate?"

Quinn and Jennifer stood in opposite corners of the living room, not daring to speak.

Sebastian was unfazed by the sarcasm, unwavering in his decision. "All you care about is money. This loss can be on me. The mall must be demolished, there is no room for negotiation. If you called me back just for this, then I'll be leaving now."

Brian clutched his chest in anger, almost choking on his rage. "Sebastian, you are crazy. A billion-dollar mall means nothing to you now!"

Seeing this, Jennifer dared not remain a bystander. She ran over to support Brian. "The project is minor, but your health is major. If the project fails, it can be rebuilt. But if your body suffers, aren't you the one who will endure the pain?"

Trying to calm Brian, Jennifer scolded, "What are you still standing there for? Get out, don't make your father angrier."

Sebastian didn't want to stay a minute longer.

But Brian pushed Jennifer aside, stepped forward, and grabbed Sebastian's collar. "Do you dare to admit that you blew up the project solely because of safety concerns? Could this matter really have nothing to do with Scarlett?""

Scarlett?

Quinn's heart skipped a beat. What did this have to do with Scarlett?

Jennifer was also shocked.

Sebastian pried Brian's hand off his collar, straightening his shirt. "Dad is right. This does have to do with Scarlett. To prevent your plan from succeeding step by step, to keep her from being dragged into this dirty scheme, I had to blow it up."

Quinn couldn't help but step forward, his tall figure illuminated by the light, shocked and questioning, "Sebastian, are you protecting Scarlett because she's your doctor?"

That reason seemed too flimsy.

Jennifer grabbed Sebastian's sleeve. "Sebastian, don't be impulsive."

He wasn't impulsive, on the contrary, he was very rational.

Sebastian looked around at his three family members, as if making an announcement rather than an explanation. "She's not just my doctor, she's the woman I want to marry. She will become my wife, the mistress of the Kingsley family."

After he finished speaking, the living room fell silent.

Quinn's fist clenched, the veins on the back of his hand almost bursting through the skin.

Sebastian wanted to marry Scarlett!

Jennifer opened her mouth, "Sebastian, you..."

Sebastian finally looked at Brian, who was so angry he could only gasp for air. "This explanation should satisfy you, Dad."
