Chapter 65 Don't Test My Patience

Brooklyn's step paused. She looked at the people coming and going in the emergency room without much change in expression and casually replied, "Just happened to run into them."

Oh? Just happened to run into them? Her nervous appearance just now, and her urgent voice requesting security personnel to come seemed to indicate otherwise.

Zach shrugged, walked out, and handed the medicine in his hand to her. "Change the dressing at night. The wound should not touch water these days, avoid vigorous exercise. If it ruptures again, it's likely to leave a scar."

Brooklyn took the medicine and glanced at it. "Is Dr. Carter questioning my medical knowledge?"

Zach smiled ambiguously. "No, I'm questioning your execution. With new and old wounds, if you still want to wear a skirt, you better be careful with your knees these days."

After giving instructions, Zach left without waiting for Brooklyn to take a step.

Quite a character! Dr. Carter!

Just as Brooklyn finished treating the wound and was about to take the elevator to the cardiology department, a large group of people crowded into the elevator, and Brooklyn was squeezed into the corner.

She tucked her knee in, thinking that she needed to protect her knees.

"Did you see Megan just now? Wow! She's so beautiful! Even more beautiful than on TV! Her oval face is really pretty!"

'Beautiful? Is that fox-like face good-looking?'Brooklyn thought.

"She's so thin! Looks like she weighs no more than 100 pounds! Her legs are so long, really enviable!"

‘Long legs? In terms of height, I’m 0.06 feet taller than Megan,’ Brooklyn thought again.

"What’s more, Megan has a great figure! She hardly has any excess fat. It's all on her chest and hips. Her figure is amazing!"

Brooklyn looked down at herself, then looked away.

After changing her clothes in the locker room, her phone vibrated in her pocket.

She straightened her collar with one hand, picked up the phone with the other, and her heart skipped a beat when she saw the flashing name on the screen.

She took two breaths to calm herself down. "Hello."

"Where are you?"

It was a tone of a leader speaking to a subordinate, with impatience and annoyance. The message Sebastian conveyed to Brooklyn was that he really disliked her!

Brooklyn adjusted her clothes and grabbed a pen. "In the duty room."

"Come over right away."

"I have to work. The patient is already waiting."

"Let them wait. Come upstairs now."

"Brooklyn, don't test my patience. I'll give you three minutes."

"Why?"

All of Brooklyn's voices were completely cut off by the prompt.

She looked at the screen, a sarcastic cold smile spreading across her lips. He tormented her, humiliated her, making her embarrassed in this ridiculoius relationship.

He actually resorted to such despicable means!

She fiercely stuffed the phone into the pocket of her white coat, her face exuding a chilling air as she quickly walked towards the elevator. The nurses she passed by all lowered their heads, not daring to make a sound.

"Dr. Mitchell, you're here."

To Brooklyn's surprise, when she arrived at the obstetrics and gynecology department, Sebastian was not there, only Dario was waiting outside.

Brooklyn nodded. "Where's Sebastian?"

"Mr. Kingsley had something to attend to and left first. I'm here waiting for Ms. Turner. Mr. Kingsley is worried about Ms. Turner's condition, so he asked you to accompany her here."

Brooklyn clenched her hands in her pockets. "Okay."

Dario glanced at Brooklyn. It was his first time seeing Brooklyn in a white coat. Brooklyn had her long hair tied up neatly in a ponytail, revealing her fair and clean forehead. Her egg-shaped face looked several years younger than her actual age, and her slender frame was covered by a clean white coat. Her competent and clean appearance inadvertently gave people a comfortable feeling.

But this was just his personal opinion. Who knew what Mr. Kingsley thought?

After waiting for over half an hour, Megan finished her examination and came out.

Dario stood at attention, and when Megan saw that Sebastian was not there but Brooklyn was, she felt a surge of anger. She handed the examination report to Brooklyn. "Dr. Mitchell, the report is ready. Can you take a look for me?"

Brooklyn flipped through it and roughly understood the situation. "The fetus is developing well, and all indicators are good."

Megan sneered disdainfully, "Dr. Mitchell, you’d better take a closer look. If something happens to me and the baby, you will have to take the blame."

As Megan said the last sentence, her gaze shifted to Brooklyn’s abdomen, a hint of mockery flickering in her eyes.

Veins popped on the back of Brooklyn's hand as she held the medical records and checked all the indicators. "You seem a bit deficient in red blood cells. You can take some nutritional supplements. Pay attention to your diet usually. Don't be picky during pregnancy. Have a balanced diet, pay attention to protein intake, and appropriate fats can help fetal development."

Megan coldly laughed. "Fats? Dr. Mitchell, I'm an artist, artists can't gain weight. Are you intentionally trying to ruin my career? I can take medicine."

Brooklyn looked at her abdomen. "The fetus is only five weeks old, very unstable. Pregnant women should not take medication casually. Ms. Turner, pregnancy itself is a risky business, likely to affect your figure."

"Speaking as if you've been pregnant before! You are probably eager to see your figure change, but you won't have the chance! Dr. Mitchell, don't forget, a lot of eyes are on this kid. You'd better rack your brains about how you can help me get my health back on track!"

Brooklyn handed the examination report to Dario. "Ms. Turner seems tired from the examination. Can you take her back to rest?"

"Dr. Mitchell, my child is developing normally and growing well. Are you disappointed?"

"Ms. Turner, pregnant women are better off not scheming too much. Excessive thinking can affect the intelligence of the fetus. Mr. Klein, aren't you going to escort Ms. Turner out?"

Dario bent down. "Ms. Turner, please follow me."

After Megan left, a group of doctors and nurses were eager to ask, "Dr. Mitchell? Do you know Megan? We saw you talking just now. It seemed like you were very familiar with each other."

Brooklyn's attitude was cold. "You’ve got nothing to do? Instead of gossiping about others, you’d better finish your own work first."
