Chapter 239 I Don't Want to See Its Bankruptcy

"What are you doing?!"

Seeing Brooklyn's anger, Seraphina was scared, thinking, 'Brooklyn's not someone to mess with.'

"Where's Susie? Get her out here!" Brooklyn asked.

Seraphina, with her heavily made-up face full of guilt, avoided Brooklyn's piercing gaze. "I don't know!"

"You don't know?!" Brooklyn spun around in anger, knocking everything off Seraphina's desk.

Years of Brooklyn's pent-up anger and frustration finally erupted. "If the Mitchell Group goes down, I'll make sure you all go down with it!"

She smashed a porcelain piece, and Seraphina's eyes widened in shock. 'But she's Sebastian's wife; I can't fight back.'

With anger and exhaustion overwhelming her and her stomach aching intensely, Brooklyn sat down on the sofa with a cold sneer. Her slender fingers gripped the leather sofa tightly as she gritted her teeth and asked, "How many have withdrawn their investments?"

Seraphina, already intimidated by Brooklyn's demeanor, trembled and stuttered, unable to utter a word.

"I'm asking you a question! Answer me!" Brooklyn demanded, her sarcasm dripping from every word. also pressuring us," Seraphina managed to stammer out, feeling as if her bones were being crushed under Brooklyn's gaze. Yes, if the company really went under, Brooklyn would likely snap her bones in two!

Hearing this, Brooklyn felt another stab of pain in her stomach.

She thought, 'This is serious.'

Reaching out, Brooklyn demanded, "Give me the list."

Seraphina stepped back. "What do you need it for?"

Brooklyn's sharp gaze cut through her. "What do you think? You made this mess; can you fix it?!"

Brooklyn's words hit Seraphina's weak spot. No, she couldn't fix it. Seraphina, who came from a modest background, had never seen such big business dealings before meeting Brooklyn's father. She was simply not suited for the business world.

Scanning the list, Brooklyn saw many unfamiliar names but recognized one—a former friend of her father's with significant influence.

Standing up, Brooklyn coldly stared at Seraphina. "Stay out of trouble and keep Susie in line. Don't cause any more havoc!"

As she exited the office, Brooklyn's stomach pain disrupted her steps, and it took great effort to reach the garage.

She had to visit this elder personally, no matter what.

Arriving at Charles Patterson's company, Brooklyn composed herself. It wasn't easy to disturb her long-lost uncle.

The receptionist recognized Brooklyn as Sebastian's wife and immediately connected her to the top floor.

Being Sebastian's wife made things easier, even skipping the need for an appointment. But it didn't provide Brooklyn with practical help.

Charles admired Brooklyn's courage and responsibility, but he had lost all confidence in the Mitchell Group.

"Brooklyn, I get that you want the Mitchell Group to bounce back, but in business, like in war, picking the wrong leader can doom even the best team."

Seeing Brooklyn's dejected look, he spoke sincerely. "If you really want to turn things around, you need to come back and run it yourself as Chairman. I'll convince the elders to invest."

Brooklyn shook her head. "I already gave all the shares to Seraphina and Susie. The Mitchell Group won't come back to me."

She had visited four elders that afternoon, and they all said the same thing.

By the time the stock market closed, the Mitchell Group had hit rock bottom, reaching a historic low.

Sitting in her car, Brooklyn thought of Sebastian. She missed him, not just for his leadership, but because she needed him by her side when she felt most helpless.

Meanwhile, Sebastian was on a plane to Pugetland, and she couldn't reach him.

"Breaking news: The construction of SKY Royal Club in Pugetland, backed by MBK Group, has been suspended by Averlake authorities due to legal issues. CEO Sebastian of MBK Group is en route to address the situation."

Brooklyn was stunned, sitting in her car with a blank mind. She thought, 'MBK Group is in trouble too! Sebastian is already overwhelmed and can't possibly assist me now. In comparison to MBK Group's crisis, Mitchell Group's issues seems almost trivial.'

Annoyed, Brooklyn propped her head on her hand. 'Who can I turn to now?'

Her phone rang at that moment.

Coincidentally, it was Zach.

Zach was her savior who always showed up when she was at her lowest.

"Dr. Mitchell, where are you? Stay put, I'll come find you."

Brooklyn looked around the square, then up at the big screen where the news had just played. "I'm at the square in Global Mall."

"Okay! Wait for me!"

With that, Zach hung up. Brooklyn remained in her car, not really waiting but unsure of where else to go.

In just over ten minutes, Zach's Mercedes S600 pulled up next to her car in the outdoor lot.

A knock on the window made her look up in surprise.

"Dr. Carter, how'd you get here so fast?"

Zach, slightly sweaty from rushing over in just a white shirt, said, "I heard everything. The Mitchell Group is in trouble, MBK Group is facing issues, but most importantly, Dr. Adams told me you're not feeling well."

He could overlook everything else but not her health.

With bloodshot eyes, Brooklyn said, "Dr. Carter, I'm fine, but I don't want to see the Mitchell Group go bankrupt."

Dear CEO, Please Be Gentle!
