Chapter 573 Have Children One by One

Jennifer had dinner at the villa with Brooklyn and Sebastian. The three of them chatted happily at the table, and Jennifer couldn't stop praising Brooklyn's cooking.

Brooklyn couldn't figure out the purpose of Jennifer's visit, but from the way Jennifer looked at Sebastian, she could tell there was something Jennifer didn't want her to know.

At the dinner table, they didn't discuss anything significant, just some casual small talk.

It was precisely because of this small talk that Brooklyn felt today's Jennifer was very different from usual. The subtle changes touched Brooklyn's sensitive heart.

For a moment, she felt that the Jennifer in front of her was just an ordinary mother, loving her son and caring for her daughter-in-law.

But this inexplicable warmth also made her feel fear and unease. Jennifer never showed concern for someone without a reason, and this was the biggest impression Brooklyn had since marrying Sebastian.

What could have caused Jennifer to suddenly change her personality?

Soon, dinner was over, and Jennifer left the villa by car. Brooklyn breathed a sigh of relief.

"What's up? You look like a weight's been lifted off your shoulders," Sebastian said, noticing her expression.

Brooklyn shrugged. "Meeting your mom makes me nervous, I guess."

Sebastian's lips curved into a slight smile as he gently turned Brooklyn's face towards him. "I'm not expecting that you're so timid."

Brooklyn rolled her eyes, not wanting to argue about this.

It was already nine o'clock in the evening. "You have a flight tomorrow morning. I'll pack your suitcase for the trip. You go to the study and work. I'll let you know if I need to add anything."

Brooklyn's slender figure moved towards the second floor, her delicate fingers trailing along the staircase. It felt like Sebastian was taking more than just his luggage this time; he was taking a piece of her heavy heart.

She knew this trip wasn't just a simple separation. There might be many changes following his departure, an inexplicable but clear sense of insecurity.

Brooklyn quietly entered the bedroom and began packing Sebastian's clothes, personal items, and little things he used daily. As she bent down to fold his shirts, a pair of warm hands gently wrapped around her waist from behind.

Without turning around, she could already smell the fresh scent of tequila, lingering under her nose. Brooklyn's heart warmed, and she spoke softly, "What's wrong? Can't bear to leave?"

Sebastian rested his chin on her shoulder, his voice low and affectionate. "Yeah, I can't bear to leave. I wish I could pack you in my suitcase and take you with me."

Brooklyn let him hold her waist, her elegant voice slightly sultry as she lowered her head and smiled. "If that's the case, are you planning to chop me into pieces? Your suitcase might not be big enough."

Sebastian gently stroked her smooth hair and chuckled. "The suitcase might not be big enough, but my heart is. And honey, don't you know that my heart is already full of you, leaving no room for anything else?"

Brooklyn blushed at his tender words. She rarely blushed, not being the type to easily turn red, but somehow, in front of him, she often found herself blushing, showing her most gentle side, letting go of all her pride, stubbornness, and toughness.

Sebastian held her tightly, leaning against her back. When she went to the sink, he followed. When she bent over the bed to fold his clothes, he bent over too. When she went to the vanity to organize his razor, he followed, like a child.

Brooklyn suddenly remembered something someone had said: no matter how old a man got, he would always show a childlike side, especially in front of the one he loved most.

Suddenly, Brooklyn felt a warm sensation in her heart.

Her husband, the love of her life, also had a childlike side. It was a rare sight.

They clung to each other, as if the night would never end, as if the separation would never come.

Night fell, and the moonlight, like a white veil, shone through the curtains, illuminating the bedroom, making their faces glow like the moonlight—bright, clean, and clear.

"Darling, this trip will take a while. I'll handle things as quickly as I can. If you need anything, you can always reach out to Brandon and Dario. Don't let yourself be wronged." Sebastian caressed her cheek, his sexy voice even more captivating in the night.

"Don't worry. Who would dare bully me on my own turf?" Brooklyn said dominantly, though her back was held even tighter by him.

"Honey, you can bully others, but no one can bully you."

Brooklyn leaned against Sebastian's shoulder, savoring the moment with her eyes closed. "Did Mom come over today because of something urgent?"

Sebastian wouldn't tell her the truth. Instead, he held her tightly and said, "Yeah, it was urgent. Mom's been saying we've been married for years, and she still hasn't had a grandchild. She's anxious and came to urge us to have a baby."

Brooklyn knew he was lying, but her heart still skipped a beat. She wrapped her arms around his, pressing his hand to her face. "Actually, I've been thinking about it too. We've stopped using birth control for a while, but I still haven't gotten pregnant. Do you think it's because of the medication? Maybe I should go to the OB-GYN for a checkup tomorrow."

Sebastian tightened his grip on her. "Nonsense. There's nothing wrong with you. Maybe it's because I haven't been trying hard enough."

With that, he flipped Brooklyn over, pulling the blanket over them, making her scream in surprise.

Lying on top of him, the darkness of the blanket obscured his face. Their hot breaths mingled closely. "Darling, I do like kids. I really want to have one."

Sebastian held her head, kissing her hair, whispering in her ear. His sexy voice seemed to touch her soul, her heart, every cell, every nerve.

Sebastian said, "Have a baby? They say good things come in pairs. How about we have two?"

Brooklyn giggled in his arms. "Honey, let's take it one at a time!"

"Be gentle..."

In the dark night, clouds covered the moonlight.

In the endless night, under the scorching warmth, their hands clasped tightly together, becoming one, for a long, long time...

The next morning, the sun was shining brightly. Brooklyn rubbed her sore body.

Turning her head, she saw that Sebastian was no longer beside her. Only the faint warmth of where he had slept remained, and the air still carried the scent of their lovemaking.

Sebastian had already gotten up and left. On the nightstand was a note with a few lines: [There are some things to handle at the office. I'll head to the airport directly from there. Darling, I love you.]

The words flowed smoothly, strong and enduring. She could almost picture him writing them.

Touching the note that still held his warmth, Brooklyn smiled softly.

"I love you." Though these words had been said countless times by countless people, hearing them still deeply moved her. No woman disliked sweet words, and she was no exception.

Lifting the blanket, Brooklyn saw the kiss marks he had left on her skin, feeling a mix of shyness and annoyance.

Muttering to herself, she thought, "He's such a hungry wolf. It's not like we haven't done it before, yet he's never satisfied. Who knows how many times we did it last night, leaving me all weak and sore."

After breakfast, Brooklyn changed clothes and prepared to go to the hospital. Just as she stepped out of the villa, she received a call from Arabella. "Dr. Mitchell, there's a situation at the hospital... You might need to come in."

"What's going on? I'm heading to the hospital now. Tell me."

Arabella sounded frustrated. "Well... Peregrine's daughter, Sofia, is supposed to be discharged in a couple of days, but Sofia's mom showed up and insists on taking her. Peregrine's ex-wife is quite aggressive, and we can't reach Peregrine. We..."

Brooklyn frowned. "Peregrine's ex-wife? Got it. You and Jake hold her off. Don't let her take the child. Keep trying to contact Peregrine. I'll be there soon."

"Okay, hurry up. This woman is really wild!"

"Got it."

Sebastian had just left the office building when he received a call from Brandon. "Mr. Kingsley, did you see today's news? The Turner Group is now a public enemy. Acquiring them is just around the corner. Wait for our good news in Aqua Vista City."

Sebastian nodded, his fingers gently stroking the leather seat. "I'm not worried about the Turner Group. I'm concerned that someone from the Kingsley family might do something troubling while I'm away. So, after the Turner Group matter is settled, keep an eye on the Kingsley family for me. Especially make sure no one harms Brooklyn."

"Don't worry. No one can harm Brooklyn. When you return, she'll still be fine. But you, Aqua Vista City, that's a place full of trouble."

"Then we'll have to deal with it."

Hanging up Brandon's call, Sebastian picked up the day's newspaper. The headline read in bold letters: #Lawrence Illegally Transfers Assets, Turner Group Faces Imminent Bankruptcy.#

Sebastian's lips curved slightly. It seemed Peregrine had cracked Lawrence's offshore transfer information.

The Turner Group's end was coming sooner than expected.
