Chapter 599 How Desperate Are You?
This choice was a no-brainer; anyone with a lick of sense would get out of there fast. Tomas hung his head, nodding reluctantly, "Alright... I'm leaving now."
Sebastian stood there with a bunch of camellias, looking anything but happy. He sneered, "Mr. Savage, maybe you didn't catch that. I'm saying you need to roll out of here."
Tomas felt a cold sweat trickle down his back, almost buckling under the pressure, his face going pale. He stammered, "Mr. Kingsley, I... I..."
Brooklyn glanced at Tomas, who usually strutted around like a peacock in front of his fans, then at the icy, intimidating Sebastian. She tried to ease the tension, "Just go."
Tomas hesitated, casting a nervous glance at Sebastian. In Sebastian's eyes, he could almost see his own reflection—eyes that demanded respect and could easily decide his fate.
But why was Sebastian here all of a sudden? He'd heard Sebastian was out of Aucester.
Sebastian gently wrapped an arm around Brooklyn's waist, "Sweetheart, you really gonna let him just walk away like that?"
Tomas swallowed again, feeling his celebrity aura crumble in Sebastian's presence. He felt smaller than an ordinary person.
Brooklyn leaned her head against Sebastian's chest, "Yeah, otherwise, would it be right to let him bother us?"
Sebastian twirled a strand of her hair, chuckling softly, "You're right... But his posters are everywhere. Doesn't that bug you? How about..."
Brooklyn thought that Sebastian's jealousy was kicking in, and Tomas was in hot water. She quickly jumped in, "Mr. Savage, you're a big name, making millions in endorsements every year. Would you be open to covering the medical fees with some endorsement work? My company has a product just for you."
Tomas was stuck, his face awkward, forcing a laugh, "Sure, it'd be an honor to endorse for you."
"Awesome, then here's to a successful partnership for the next ten years."
Just for trying to get close to her, he had to endorse for free for ten years?
Tomas's face was anything but happy, "No... no problem."
Brooklyn suddenly remembered something, exclaiming, "Oh, Mr. Savage, and I'll not only cover your medical treatment but also gift a fishbone hairpin. Mr. Savage, the hairpin's pretty pricey, so take good care of it."
"Yeah... I'll definitely take good care of it. Mr. Kingsley, Mrs. Kingsley, I'll be on my way."
The uninvited guest left, red-faced, leaving the couple alone in the studio. Brooklyn lit up at the sight of the camellias in his hand, "What brings you back?"
Sebastian cornered Brooklyn between himself and the table, his body pressing gently against hers, the scent of tequila and camellias mingling in the air. "Honey, you are almost bullied; how could I stay away?"
Brooklyn laughed softly, "Alright. How long have you been lurking around? Why didn't you come in sooner?"
Sebastian moved the flowers aside, leaning in to rest his forehead against hers. "I came in when you started talking about the reason of the racing heartbeat. Seems like you said one reason for a racing heartbeat is excitement. Feel mine now—isn't it racing?"
Brooklyn felt his assertiveness, her slender frame shifting slightly, "Don't let anyone catch us; this is a TV station."
Sebastian ignored her, holding his ground, "Does seeing me get your heart racing?"
As he spoke, his hand slowly moved toward her heart, fingers brushing against the pocket of her white uniform, gently pressing.
Her heartbeat quickened; she was indeed thrilled to see him suddenly appear. Now, faced with his bold teasing, she couldn't hide her excitement. Her heart raced, and her whole body trembled slightly.
"Sebastian, you're insatiable, aren't you?"
"Am I that obvious, and you just noticed? Should I reward you for finally catching on or punish you for being so slow?"
Sebastian's words were teasing as he leaned in to capture her lips, savoring the cherry blossom pink lipstick, gradually removing her makeup with his own lips.
Brooklyn leaned against the host table, aroused by his actions. If this kept up, the studio might just end up broadcasting live.
Thankfully, he finally let her go. "Did you enjoy that?"
Brooklyn's clever eyes narrowed. "Sebastian, what did you pick up during your stay in Aqua Vista City? Did you minor in flirting?"
Sebastian flicked her nose, "How'd I do? How many points would you give me?"
"Zero!" She teased, though she relished the sweetness of being held captive.
Sebastian frowned, "Zero points? Looks like I need a retake." He leaned in again, claiming her lips with gentle persistence, seeking more...
Brooklyn fell silent.
Did he become a flirt after just one trip?
"Alright, alright, this time it's full marks, full marks!" Brooklyn pushed against his solid chest, genuinely worried about being seen.
Sebastian grinned slyly, pulling her in for another kiss, this time deeper and more passionate.
Brooklyn protested, "I already gave you full marks, Sebastian !"
Sebastian released her lips, now slightly swollen and even more alluring than with lipstick, "Well, since you praised me so highly, it seems you enjoy my kisses. I aim to please."
He always had a way of turning things around, leaving her with no room to argue.
After their tender moment, Sebastian handed her the flowers, "Congrats on your debut; it was a hit."
Brooklyn took the bouquet, breathing in its scent, "Thanks, they smell amazing."
"Is it the flowers or me?"
Brooklyn was momentarily speechless. Did he really want to compare?
"Both smell good..." Learning from last time, Brooklyn decided to play along!
Sebastian chuckled, his eyes meeting hers, "I'm not just fragrant, but also irresistible."
Brooklyn hugged the flowers and walked away, not wanting to get caught up in Sebastian's banter. He followed her, smiling quietly.
Downstairs, Dario was already waiting, ready to usher them into the car. He turned to ask, "Mr. Kingsley, where to?"
Brooklyn checked the time; it was past four. "Do you want to swing by the company?"
"No need." He glanced at Brooklyn, who was admiring the flowers, "Where do you want to go? I have a flight to Aqua Vista City at six; we've got a little over an hour."
"What? You're leaving again? So soon?"
Sebastian nodded, "There's a meeting tonight; I have to head back."
Brooklyn's excitement deflated, thinking he could stay. Knowing they'd part in an hour left her feeling a bit down.
"Let's head to the airport area; it's about half an hour from here. I'll see you off and we can grab a bite nearby, okay?"
"Sounds good."
As the car rolled along, Brooklyn reached for Sebastian's hand, concerned, "Did you not take care of yourself in Aqua Vista City? You look a bit worn out."
Sebastian clasped her hand, intertwining his fingers with hers, "Not too well. I miss you so much that I can't sleep or eat."
Brooklyn giggled, playfully nudging his chest, "Smooth talker, you're leaving in an hour, why butter me up?"
Sebastian's deep eyes held a hint of reluctance, his voice low as he leaned close to her ear, "It's because I can't do anything that I have to sweet-talk. If I could do something, there'd be no need for words."
Brooklyn playfully swatted him with the camellias, only to be pulled into his embrace along with the flowers, "Hang tight for a few days; I'll be back once things are sorted out there."
"Alright, you go ahead. I'm a big girl; I can handle myself."
"Aren't you worried I might not manage on my own?"
"You've got a whole squad of assistants and secretaries; how could you not be taken care of?"
Sebastian kissed her forehead tenderly, "Assistants and secretaries can't handle everything."
Brooklyn's eyes twinkled with mischief, "You sound so pitiful. Should I get you a sex doll companion?"
Sebastian chuckled, "A doll's fine, but not that kind. I prefer one that drinks milk, cries, and calls me daddy."
Wasn't that his way of saying he wanted a kid?
"That's a long production cycle; you need to book ten months in advance."
"I've already booked five years in advance."
Brooklyn fell silent. Okay, she was completely outmatched.
The car pulled up near the airport, and they strolled into a nearby restaurant. The overpriced coffee shop kept most folks away, leaving it pretty empty.
They snagged a window seat, ordered coffee and some main dishes. With just thirty minutes left, Brooklyn piled food onto Sebastian's plate, "Eat up; you'll be on a plane soon and have a meeting. You probably won't have time to eat, and airplane food is the worst, so fill up now."
Sebastian couldn't keep up, his plate quickly filling. Across the table, he watched Brooklyn's busy demeanor. "You're making it really hard for me to leave."
"Sebastian, don't act like a kid."
Sebastian relaxed, "I wish I could take you with me."
Brooklyn rested her chin on her hand, gazing at him, "But I didn't bring my passport; I can't fly."
"You can come as my carry-on." Sebastian's long fingers held a fork, placing a piece of beef in her mouth.
"Carry-ons can't be alive, Sebastian."
Sebastian added a piece of broccoli to her mouth.
Eating the food he offered, Brooklyn felt warm and sweet inside. "By the way, about the company acquisition, I heard from Peregrine that you're planning to turn it into a financial company. I've got some liquid funds; we can go through the company's accounts. The Turner Group has some big issues."
Sebastian was amused by her serious talk about money, "How much are you thinking of investing?"
"The company has plenty of liquid funds; I think covering the gaps won't be a problem. I'll have Bianca handle the accounts."
Sebastian shook his head, confidently saying, "I don't need the money. Maybe you should invest in something else, my dear."
