Chapter 353 You Remind Me of My Goddess
They were sitting at a rectangular table, facing each other, which made them feel a bit closer.
The food was pretty bad, but Sebastian nodded, "Is there more in the kitchen?"
Scarlett looked at him, confused. "Why?"
"Give some to your assistants, "he replied with a hint of amusement.
After eating, Sebastian headed to work. Scarlett ran after him, "You're not gonna lock me up here, right?"
Sebastian raised an eyebrow, "You're my doctor, not my pet."
'So, I won't be locked up at home? I can go out, right?' she thought.
But Sebastian made it clear, "So, I won't be taking you to work with me."
Scarlett's mood shifted from sunny to stormy. "Sir, I have personal freedom and the law protects me."
"As far as I know, you're a resident of Averlake, and Libertya's laws don't apply to you." His tone was firm.
"No matter where I am, the Averlake government will protect its citizens. I can file a complaint!" She stood tall, refusing to back down.
"Do you think you'll get that chance?" He replied casually, his confidence infuriating.
Still, Scarlett could go out. Because Sebastian ordered, "Ms. Taylor, I don't want to see you wearing these colors anymore after today."
Scarlett was furious. "You want me to buy new clothes?"
"That's right."
She held out her hand. "If you want me to buy clothes, you pay for them."
Sebastian adjusted his tie and got into the car, "If I remember correctly, Ms. Taylor, you said you weren't short on money."
Owen drove her straight to Global Mall, the fanciest shopping center in Aucester.
"Ms. Taylor, Mr. Kingsley specifically said you should be back at the villa before he gets home from work and have dinner ready by 7:30 PM. Enjoy your shopping." With that, Owen gave a slight bow, smiled, and drove off in the black Bentley.
Scarlett stood there, not knowing what to do. She called Lisa and Cory, but neither of their phones were reachable.
'Damn, they really are locked up. This shameless man! I have to find a way to escape! He doesn't like seeing me in black and white clothes. Fine, whatever,' she thought.
In the super stylish and luxurious high-end shopping center, the first and second floors were packed with top global brands. Scarlett walked into a fashion store with a clean and simple color scheme.
There weren't many people around; she hated crowds. She also wasn't a fan of spending time picking out clothes, so she had already spotted an outfit before even walking in—a black jumpsuit paired with a white shirt, the collar adorned with some lightweight-textured patterns.
As she reached out to touch the pants, another hand did the same.
Scarlett looked up to see a girl who was quite a bit shorter than her, with medium-length hair, big eyes, and a delicate face, but her height made her look a bit childish.
"Miss, I had my eye on this outfit," the girl said, raising her chin defiantly. The shop's lights flickered in her eyes, adding a spark to her assertive stance.
Scarlett's sharp gaze fell on her. "Looks like I saw it first."
The girl flipped her hair and adjusted the bag on her shoulder, clearly trying to make up for her lack of presence. "Miss, I came in before you, and I had already chosen it before you arrived. I even tried it on, so this outfit is mine."
'Tried it on? How annoying,' Scarlett thought as she called over a sales assistant. "Get me the same outfit, brand new, never tried on."
Scarlett didn't like wearing clothes that others had tried on.
The sales assistant bowed apologetically. "I'm really sorry, miss, but each item in our store is unique. We don't have duplicates."
Scarlett glanced up at the store's name, Violet Apparel, a Libertya brand.
The girl raised her head again. "So, miss, this outfit is mine."
Scarlett let go, crossing her arms and shrugging indifferently. "Fine, I wouldn't want clothes you've tried on anyway."
With that, Scarlett walked out of the store in her white high heels, leaving the girl standing there, stunned.
The girl suddenly let go of the outfit as if electrocuted, her mind struck by lightning, suddenly realizing, 'That voice! That tone! That aura! Why does it seem so familiar! Impossible! It can't be!'
She grabbed her bag and chased after the graceful figure ahead, panting as she caught Scarlett's slender arm.
Scarlett turned around in surprise, seeing the same girl from before, her eyes half-narrowed.
"Brooklyn! Are you Brooklyn?" the girl asked.
Scarlett was baffled by the question, her brows furrowing.
The girl swallowed excitedly. "I know this must sound ridiculous because you look different from her. You're prettier. But your voice and aura are so much like Brooklyn! Can I get to know you? I'm Kelly Wilson!"
