Chapter 605 Advise You Not to Fly into the Fire

A guy like Sebastian just needed to give a woman the slightest bit of attention, and she'd be ready to give him everything.

The way Catherine looked at Sebastian now said it all.

His deep, smooth voice was like a comforting dream after a wild night out, lingering in her ears. Every word he spoke seemed to radiate warmth, completely captivating anyone who heard him.

"Sebastian, you were born to be a conqueror. Any woman you touch would go crazy for you. They'd do anything for you, even if it meant risking everything. I'm sure there are women like that, right?" Catherine took a sip of her water, savoring the subtle elegance and nobility that seemed to belong solely to Sebastian.

Sebastian's thin lips curved into a faint smile. "No need to risk everything. Life is precious."

Catherine got out of bed, still wearing the clothes from the night before, untouched. It seemed that a gentleman like Sebastian wouldn't take advantage of a woman.

Otherwise, how could she be lying here intact?

She put down the water glass and spread her arms, wanting to hug Sebastian. But as soon as she took half a step forward, he saw through her intentions. He bent down slightly, picked up a file, and blocked her move.

Catherine awkwardly retracted her arms, clenching her fists in frustration. "But Sebastian, love is priceless."

Sebastian adjusted the cuffs of his crisp white shirt. "Ms. Cooper, for the sake of freedom, both can be sacrificed."

Once he got the evidence of Bruce and his daughter's embezzlement, freedom would become a luxury for her.

Catherine seductively ran her fingers through her flowing hair, pulling it to one side and lowering her neckline slightly. Her beautiful collarbone and smooth skin were full of allure.

"Sebastian, don't rush to the office. Have breakfast with me first."

Despite her repeated advances, Sebastian always suppressed his disgust. "Work is busy, and I have no choice. Once the project is settled, I'll enjoy your breakfast."

His faint smile was more like pity, though it was enchanting and struck a sensitive nerve.

"Sebastian, there's a gathering at the Jordan family's tomorrow. I hope you can accompany me. It's a private event, organized by Miguel to celebrate his son's second birthday. Also, although Marc is in prison, his wife Susie is still with the Jordan family, and their son's birthday is around the same time."

She tried to invite him. "It's just a birthday party for two kids, with close friends only. No one will gossip, and Miguel's parties are attended by Aqua Vista City's elite, which could help you break into the market there."

Miguel's party... Sebastian wasn't particularly interested, but he was curious to see what had become of the Jordan family after Marc's downfall.

"Sure." His simple response made Catherine very happy.

Brooklyn prepared sandwiches, boiled eggs, and some milk for Zach.

Brooklyn's cooking skills had improved significantly while taking care of Sebastian, and the food looked delicious.

"I didn't expect your cooking to be so good. It's an honor to taste your homemade food." Zach praised her generously, picking up a fork to enjoy his meal.

"It's just a simple meal. Next time, you and Ms. Montague can come over, and I'll cook a feast for you."

The atmosphere was comfortable and quiet. They chatted occasionally about patients, medical issues, and TV show recordings. Time seemed to slow down, gently revolving around them.

Zach smiled contentedly, pushing his cup forward. "Can I have some more milk?"

"Of course. I made it especially for you. Milk helps you recover faster." She said, pouring him another cup.

Zach took the cup with both hands. "Thank you."

'Thank you for making my dream come true, turning my long-held wish into reality.' He thought.

Now everything was perfect. He wouldn't hope for more or have any unnecessary expectations.

Brooklyn held her fork, barely eating. When she looked up, she saw Zach watching her. "Is there something on my face?"

Zach teased elegantly, "Yes, it says 'perfect wife and mother.'"

"Forget it. I prefer holding a scalpel."

"You..."

It was already Friday. Brooklyn arrived at the hospital at ten in the morning. Dressed in her white uniform, she walked down the long corridor, her hand in her pocket, exuding an air of elegance and aloofness.

The nurses greeted her respectfully.

"Dr. Mitchell, I saw the TV promo. It was amazing! You looked beautiful!"

Only Arabella dared to speak to her like that at Aucester Hospital.

Brooklyn nodded, placing two medical records in the file rack. "Dr. Warner, you seem more interested in things other than treating patients. Should I praise you or..."

Arabella quickly covered her mouth with a medical record. "I didn't say anything."

Brooklyn clicked her pen and swiftly signed her name on a record. "When is Leroy's daughter's surgery scheduled?"

"Next month on the 25th. The child's parents are injured and can't take care of her. Next month, his wife can come in a wheelchair to care for the child."

"Actually..." Brooklyn twirled her pen. "Aqua Vista City Hospital has the same equipment. If we coordinate with them, we can use their facilities and rooms, so they don't have to wait so long. The sooner the surgery, the better. I'll discuss it with the director. If feasible, I can perform the surgery at Aqua Vista City Hospital."

Arabella's eyes widened. "Really? Brooklyn, you're so dedicated! Applying for a business trip? Impressive!"

Brooklyn handed her the pen and the record. "It's my duty. Patients come first." She smiled elegantly, her eyes sparkling.

Going to Aqua Vista City wasn't just for the surgery.

With her mind made up, Brooklyn went straight to the top floor to find George.

After explaining the situation, George agreed to try.

"But how will you manage your patients here?" George asked, picking up the phone.

"Jake and Arabella are fully capable. Post-operative care can be handled by them. I want to go to Aqua Vista City to perform the surgery on Eugene's granddaughter. Please coordinate with Aqua Vista City Hospital."

With Brooklyn personally requesting, George couldn't refuse.

Fortunately, Aqua Vista City Hospital had available beds. Hearing it was for Eugene's granddaughter, they were thrilled. Serving a high-ranking official from Aqua Vista City made anyone happy.

So, they agreed immediately.

"They said it's fine. When do you want to go?"

"As soon as possible. Tomorrow, if I can."

George almost spat out his water. "Tomorrow? Isn't that too soon?"

Brooklyn smiled confidently in her white uniform. "Is it?"

Her casual question left George with no objections.

"Alright, tomorrow it is. After all, the patient is important. Brooklyn, work is important, but so is your personal life. Doctors are already tired. Traveling back and forth, being away from your husband, isn't good, right?" George's concerned look was quite suggestive.

"Don't worry, Dr. Clark. I prioritize my family."

"Good, good. That's how it should be. Women should take care of their families."

They exchanged a few cryptic smiles.

Arabella watched Brooklyn pack her things, slyly trying to get information. "Brooklyn, are you really going to Aqua Vista City just for the surgery? I heard Mr. Kingsley is also in Aqua Vista City."

Brooklyn didn't deny it. "Yes, he's in Aqua Vista City."

"So... you're following your husband?" Arabella rested her chin on her hand, filling the office with gossip.

Brooklyn handed her some medical records. "Keep track of the conditions of patients in beds 3 and 9. Report any issues to me immediately. As for gossip, save it, Dr. Warner."

"It's rare to see you chasing after Mr. Kingsley. I'm curious!"

Performing surgery was just a legitimate excuse for her impulsiveness. Leaving work abruptly wasn't an adult way of doing things.

But thinking about Sebastian possibly staying in Aqua Vista City for a long time, with Catherine constantly around, Brooklyn felt uneasy. She had to confront Catherine!

"Dr. Warner, your internship isn't over yet. Should I add a note to your evaluation? 'Strong gossiping tendency, employers beware'?"

"No! I'm leaving!"

Brooklyn finished her tasks and called Sebastian.

Sebastian seemed busy, with other voices in the background discussing something intensely.

"Are you busy? I'll hang up. Call me when you're free."

It was past six, and he was still in a meeting?

Sebastian stepped out of the noisy marketing department meeting room, closing the door behind him. "Not busy, just a small matter. Are you off work?"

"Yes, I'm off. I wanted to ask about your plans for tomorrow." Brooklyn felt a bit nervous, as it was her first time secretly flying over to see Sebastian.

Sebastian thought about his schedule. "Meeting in the morning, site visit in the afternoon, and a party in the evening."

'A whole day of work? My goodness!' Brooklyn thought to herself.

"What party? What time?" She added.

"It's Miguel's family gathering, starting at eight and ending around ten. I'll let you know when it's over."

Brooklyn calculated the time. She could only see him in the evening.

"Which hotel are you staying at in Aqua Vista City? I forgot." Brooklyn asked casually.

Sebastian was puzzled. "Why are you asking all of a sudden?"

Brooklyn leaned back in her car seat, teasingly. "Can't I ask? Or are you hiding something?"

Sebastian chuckled, his deep voice resonating. "Nightfall Hotel, room 2716. The room card password is 6790. Anything else, honey?"
