Chapter 276 The Boss is Missing

"Does a watch even have a name?" she wondered. "Are you just making this up? What name?"

Sebastian checked out her tiny wrist, pleased with how the watch fit. He thought, 'My wife deserves custom stuff to show off her status; otherwise, I'm failing as her husband.'

"It's called 'Till Death Do Us Part.'"

His voice was like a boulder dropped in a pond, sending ripples everywhere. Brooklyn's face went pale, totally thrown off.

Seeing her reaction, Sebastian smiled, his long, clean fingers brushing her cheeks as he cupped her face. With a hint of pride, he said, "Looks like I nailed the gift."

It wasn't the gift itself that shocked her, but its name. It was so intense and heavy, she felt like she couldn't handle it.

Brooklyn took a few seconds to snap out of it. "Thanks. It's a really pricey gift. But I don't have anything to give you back."

Sebastian gently pinched her cheek, a hint of unfamiliar affection in his eyes. "You do, but you just don't know it yet."

'Do I?' she thought, mentally going through her stuff, doubting she had anything that matched up.

At least that was what Brooklyn thought.

"Alright, let's eat. After dinner, come with me somewhere."

Sebastian said as he stood up and went back to his seat. Brooklyn glanced at the watch on her wrist, still feeling like everything that just happened was unreal.

'Has Sebastian really changed?' she wondered.

"Aren't you supposed to be at work this afternoon? If I'm right, the company must be putting a lot of pressure on you right now. Shouldn't you go back and handle it?"

'Is it too late to realize this now? Alright, Brooklyn's been kinda slow these past few days,' he thought.

Sebastian picked up his knife and fork, having already devoured most of his meal. His appetite was unusually good today. He said with a smile, "Business might be tough, but love's going great. It's a fair trade."

It seemed like a non-answer, but Brooklyn grasped what he meant.

After dinner, Sebastian drove while Brooklyn watched the scenery blur past, the route getting more and more unfamiliar. The car left the city, heading towards the outskirts of Aucester.

"Where are you taking me?" she asked.

Sebastian smiled triumphantly, his noble and clean smile enhancing his aristocratic vibe. Just one more look and she'd be hooked.

"It's a bit far. If you're tired, you can lean back and doze off. I'll wake you when we get there." Sebastian checked the upcoming intersection, noting the sign indicating he should get on the highway.

Brooklyn squinted and asked, "You're not planning to sell me, are you?"

He laughed, his booming voice filling the car. "Yep, I'm gonna sell you. To get a good price, I need you looking fresh. So, better close your eyes and catch some Z's. Can't have you showing up all tired."

"Sebastian, you really are a capitalist, even doing business with me."

"Just making the most of my resources," he said with a smirk.

'That tongue of his, could it be any more sarcastic?' she thought.

"Alright, get some sleep. It's a long drive." His playful smile made him even more charming.

Brooklyn felt a mix of fear and confusion. 'The past three years haven't been warm; is he really trying to make up for it all now? Isn't that a bit much?'

Sebastian drove with laser focus, keeping them safe on the busy highway.

As he drove, Brooklyn's breathing became steady and calm. A glance to the side showed she was sleeping in her usual ungraceful sleeping posture.

Sebastian smiled. Seeing her head about to tilt, he quickly extended his hand to support it.

Brooklyn's head rested comfortably in his hand, and she slept soundly.

Sebastian drove one-handed, serving as her pillow for three hours. When they arrived, she was still out cold.

'This fool, has she not slept well for ages?' he thought.

The Rolls-Royce stopped outside a pristine white seaside villa. Sebastian adjusted Brooklyn and got out, carrying her in his arms. Looking at her with indulgence, he whispered, "Brooklyn, we're here."

Brooklyn didn't wake up but snuggled deeper into his arms.

Sebastian shook his head and walked into the villa, the sound of ocean waves in the background.

Meanwhile, at MBK International Building...

"What do you mean you can't reach him? You don't know where your boss is? Do you even want this job?" Brian yelled at Dario, who stood silently, not daring to breathe.

Yancy tried to mediate. "Mr. Brian Kingsley, maybe Mr. Sebastian Kingsley had an urgent matter and couldn't notify anyone. Please don't be angry."

Brian sneered. "He just caused a huge problem and then disappeared. What an irresponsible man! I think he doesn't befit CEO anymore. Find him before the meeting, or don't bother coming back!"

Dario lowered his head. "Yes, sir."

"What are you waiting for? Get out!" Brian shouted.

Dario left the chairman's office, feeling bewildered. He had tried every contact method, but it was like Sebastian had vanished into thin air.

'Mr. Kingsley, please don't be so reckless at a time like this,' Dario thought.

Dear CEO, Please Be Gentle!
