Chapter 328 Wanting to Kill Brooklyn
"You think you're so smart? How about now? Still feel that way?" Brian's voice was cold and emotionless.
Sebastian let out a bitter laugh. "Did you do this?"
Brian's tone stayed icy. "Does it matter? You picked your wife, now deal with the fallout."
Brian bent down and picked up a photo. It showed Brooklyn laughing and playing in the desert.
'Has she ever laughed like that with me? Never. Who does she really love? I always trusted her, even when she left. I promised to wait for her. But now? She's with someone else.' Sebastian's heart ached, sweat beading on his forehead, and his surgical wound tore open again. Pain hit him from all sides.
"Get out." Sebastian's brows furrowed, pain tightening his chest. He crushed the photo in his hand.
Brian stood tall, looking down at Sebastian. "Look at you! A woman did this to you!"
Brian's cold gaze pierced Sebastian. Sebastian's lips curled into a sarcastic sneer, his eyes filled with disappointment. "I have a heart, but you don't."
Brian's face stayed impassive. He looked at Sebastian like a child throwing a tantrum. He stepped on Brooklyn's photo with his slipper, mocking him. "A woman like her, unfaithful and lowly. Better you see it now."
Sebastian laughed bitterly. "Get out!"
Brian bent down, patted his shoulder like a child. "I won't trust the company to a man beaten by a woman."
Brian turned, grinding the photo underfoot, and walked out.
Sebastian closed his eyes as his phone rang. Ignoring the vibrating phone, he sat on the couch, eyes shut.
The phone eventually stopped ringing.
Jennifer came upstairs with food, seeing Sebastian's dejected back. She gripped the tray tightly, took a deep breath. "Sebastian."
"Get out." His voice was cold but less aggressive.
Jennifer cautiously approached, glimpsing the photo on the floor. She focused on Sebastian. "Eat something. You haven't eaten all day. Your surgery..."
"Get out and take the food with you!" His anger flared, his tone icy.
"I'll go, but I'll leave dinner here. You need to eat." Jennifer left, closing the door.
The phone started vibrating again.
Sebastian grabbed it and smashed it against the wall. The phone hit the ground, silent.
Megan sat on a luxurious bed, complaining. "Piper, Sebastian won't take my calls."
Piper patted her shoulder. "He hasn't figured it out yet."
"What's there to figure out? Didn't Jennifer say someone took photos of Brooklyn and Zach together? What's he hesitating about?" Megan asked, puzzled.
Piper's manicured nails tapped her phone. "As long as she's alive, his feelings won't disappear, understand?"
Megan's face, freckled and makeup-free, showed her weariness. "Piper, what do you mean?"
Piper pinched Megan's cheek, smiling. "We're facing the same obstacle, but you've been stuck for three years. I'm not waiting that long."
