Chapter 175 Come On, I'll Carry You on My Back

Brooklyn fell silent.

Sebastian wouldn't actually hold her accountable and demand compensation from her, would he? If he brought it up, how would she respond? One hundred million dollars? She wouldn't be able to pay it off in several lifetimes.

Deciding to take the initiative, she launched an attack, "You're not worthy of sympathy! You fool!"

"Am I a fool?" Sebastian didn't explain, unsure who the real fool was.

The unproductive conversation ended, and Sebastian continued walking with long strides.

Of course, Brooklyn couldn't keep up. The distance between them grew, turning their walk into two separate camps. Sebastian had left her a hundred yards behind.

Initially, she admired his figure as she walked, like a moving mountain, always handsome. But as they walked, the charm of the handsome man was replaced by fatigue, and she could no longer appreciate it.

Brooklyn clenched her teeth, her fists tight, her eyes glistening with flames. She hadn't died, so Sebastian felt ashamed. Walking away from her was just his way of showing disdain.

After walking for a while, Brooklyn was too exhausted to support her own weight. She stopped and rested, hands on her knees.

A hundred yards away, Sebastian slowly raised the corners of his mouth. His usual dark and sinister expression now held a hint of warmth, an unusual change that even he wasn't aware of. He had made a somewhat childish sly smile.

While Brooklyn was gasping for breath with her head down, a large figure suddenly blocked her view, casting a shadow over her. Without looking up, she saw a pair of Armani shoes covered in a layer of dust, traveling up the pant leg to Sebastian's sharp eyes and chiseled face.

Why was he back?

"Come on.Don't slow me down."

The dominant man suddenly bent down in front of her, offering his broad back to her. His black Italian tailored suit, despite the slight wrinkles from repeated wear, still exuded elegance.

"What for?" Brooklyn's mouth was dry, as if she had just eaten a mouthful of sand.

"Get on. I'm in a hurry."

Brooklyn fell silent.

Gritting her teeth, she protected her pride, "I'll walk by myself!"

"Get on! Do you want to be captured again?"

"I..."

"What? I won't always sympathize with your foolishness."

Well, as arrogant as Sebastian was, allowing her to use his back was a rare occurrence.

She climbed onto his back, arms around his neck. A fresh scent of agave, mixed with the surrounding earth and floral fragrance, wafted into her nostrils, elegant and intense.

Brooklyn seemed to have merged with him long ago.

Sebastian's strong arms dragged her legs up. She was indeed very thin, with little weight on his back.

"Don't eat so much in the future."

He said it so casually.

'Was he calling me fat?' Brooklyn gritted her teeth.

"Whoever weighs less than 110 pounds is either flat-chested or short!" Sebastian said, while carring Brooklyn, who was 5 feet 8 inches, and her legs were quite long, occasionally brushing against the flowers beside them. Sometimes, her toes would touch the petals, but he paid no attention, letting her feet playfully interact with the flowers like a child.

"What about you?" Sebastian asked.

Brooklyn thought, 'Me?'

I'm neither short nor flat-chested!' "Can't you see for yourself?"

Brooklyn lay quietly on his back, her icy pride and strength melting away. She felt like surrendering.

Whether it was torment or infidelity, as long as he occasionally showed her some tenderness, she would be content.

She pondered, 'Am I being too humble?'

"See? How? There's a margin of error with clothes on."

Sebastian's face remained unchanged, his tone steady. He could say these things so naturally.

Brooklyn tightened her grip around his neck. "Then you have poor eyesight."

He tilted his neck back sharply, and she quickly behaved. "That's true..."

Otherwise, why would he reject a woman who was so gentle and eager to please him, choosing instead a hedgehog that gave him headaches?

Sebastian said the first half of the sentence but didn't finish.

He walked slowly with her on his back, the early summer sunlight falling on them. Sweat began to form on his forehead, and a few times when Brooklyn slipped off his back, he pulled her back up.

"Stupid Brooklyn."

There was no movement on his back, so Sebastian called out to her.

He got no response.

Sebastian stopped in his tracks, turned around, and found Brooklyn asleep on his back.

Her long and thick eyelashes cast shadows on her eyelids, her peaceful face resting against his back. She was sleeping soundly.

"Do you know, seeing you like this, how worried I was?"

Sebastian muttered to himself and felt the weight on his back increase because Sebastian had been carrying her for nearly two hours.

"If it were me who was kidnapped today, you'd probably be very happy, right? Brooklyn, you heartless woman."
