Chapter 203 Can We Try Something New!
'Tears and drama again. Can't you try something new?' Brooklyn rolled her eyes.
Megan cried, but Sebastian didn't react. "You're pregnant. Crying isn't good for you."
Megan leaned into his chest. "Sebastian, she's looking down on me and our baby. The baby's not even born yet, and she's already treating it like this. What are we going to do in the future? I can handle it, but the baby can't."
Brooklyn wanted to scream, 'Why don't you just drop dead!'
But she stayed quiet, waiting for Sebastian's response. It all depended on him. If he believed Megan, nothing she said would matter.
"Alright, go upstairs and rest," Sebastian said, sounding both soothing and impatient.
Megan tugged at his sleeve. "Sebastian, will you stay with me? I'm anxious. Will it harm the baby?"
Brooklyn couldn't take it anymore. 'Megan, could you be any more melodramatic? Just make me sick already.'
She was too tired to keep watching. Her legs felt weak, and she knew she'd collapse if she pushed herself any further.
"I'm tired, do whatever you want."
She slowly walked back to her room, closed the door, and collapsed onto the bed. Exhausted, both physically and emotionally.
In the hall, Megan wiped her tears. "See that? This is Brooklyn, more heartless and selfish than ever. Sebastian, she's a heartless woman. How could she love anyone?"
She took Sebastian's hand gently. "She didn't show any reluctance or sadness; she doesn't care about you at all."
Sebastian pushed her hand away. "I'm tired too."
Ignoring Megan's shock, he walked over to the long sofa in the living room.
She wanted to follow, but Sebastian said, "Take Ms. Turner upstairs."
The servant helped her upstairs, leaving Sebastian alone in the vast living room.
He massaged his forehead. Looking down, he saw a medical book Brooklyn had left under the glass table and picked it up.
It was a thick, well-worn cardiology book, filled with annotations in her graceful handwriting.
As he flipped through the book, he suddenly smiled. In an empty space, Brooklyn had drawn a crude polar bear with a note: [Mr. Bear, don't be so aloof.]
Suddenly, Sebastian felt out of character. Just a moment ago, she was the serious Dr. Mitchell, and now he was faced with the childish Brooklyn.
'Damn it, what am I doing!'
Annoyed, he stuffed the book back and felt restless.
At that moment, his phone rang. It was Brandon.
"Brandon, you still dare to call me? Is everything taken care of?" Sebastian leaned back on the sofa, rubbing his temples.
"It'll take a bit more time, but I've found some info. The stuff I got through seduction is legit!"
"Cut the crap. Get to the point."
Brandon smirked. "Brooklyn is not simple! I really admire her."
"Get to the point!"
"Don't rush. Brooklyn entered Averlake Lindwood University at sixteen and started performing surgeries at nineteen. She's a top talent in the medical field."
Sebastian furrowed his brow. 'Brooklyn? Really? How did I did he not know about her impressive resume?'
"Even more surprising, five years ago, in her final year of a joint bachelor's and master's program, she almost lost her right hand due to a medical accident. After recovering, she switched to internal medicine, completing a five-year course in just two years. Now, at twenty-six, she holds dual master's degrees in internal medicine and surgery. Impressive, right?"
Sebastian frowned. He had no idea his wife was such a character.
"Five years ago, what was the medical accident about?"
