Chapter 533 The Wedding Begins, Quinn Disappears

In the mirror, Megan was decked out in dramatic bridal makeup, wearing a wedding gown with a deep V-back. Her stage presence, once perfected on the red carpet, now came naturally.

She wore expensive white crystal heels, and her slender waist accentuated her allure, making her impossible to ignore.

This woman, Megan, seemed to have returned to the film festival's red carpet, basking in the spotlight, enjoying the hungry gazes of men. This was the world she loved!

This was everything that belonged to Megan!

Megan gritted her teeth, her hands clenched into tight fists.

"I wish I could tear Brooklyn apart right now! I wish I could make her a laughingstock in front of everyone! I wish everyone would curse her!"

Anger twisted Megan's delicate face, almost causing the blush and highlighter on her cheeks to fall off due to her intense facial contortions.

Simon squeezed her hand, his voice soothing, "Babe, today is our big day. Be happy. We have a great show coming up. Don't ruin it for yourself. When you're upset, it breaks my heart."

Megan looked down at Simon, who was dressed in his groom's attire, and leaned in to hold his hand tightly. "It's just a shame about our wedding."

"It's just a ceremony. We can do something more meaningful, can't we? As long as you're happy, I'll do whatever you want. Come on, don't be angry."

Megan gazed at Simon quietly. Although she knew their relationship was built on business interests, the affection in his eyes still moved her.

She had once longed to see that expression in Sebastian's eyes, to have him look at her that way!

Holding Simon's face, Megan's eyes blurred. She mistakenly thought this face belonged to Sebastian and almost called out his name.

Then she smiled bitterly, "Simon, we're family now, partners in this. Remember, don't let me down."

"I won't let you down. I'll love you forever. Forever."

The wedding venue was bustling, the sun blazing outside, while inside, the lights were dazzling.

Guests gradually entered, waiting for the auspicious moment.

Brooklyn and Kelly were chatting, casually critiquing some guests' over-the-top outfits. Before they knew it, it was almost noon.

"I wonder how the stunning Megan will make her entrance! The former international idol, today's bride, will surely outshine everyone!"

"Megan's everyday outfits already set trends. Today will be even more spectacular. Just wait, everyone will be copying her dress!"

Gradually, the anticipation drowned out other conversations. Except for some men who were still immersed in their business plans, everyone else was staring at the spiral staircase.

Suddenly, a security guard in uniform ran over, causing a commotion outside the crowd, looking anxious.

Brooklyn glanced over, still playing with her champagne.

What's going on now?

"Who owns the car with license plate L6668?"

Brooklyn, Quinn, and Donny immediately looked at the security guard. The car owner was none other than Sebastian.

Today, Quinn had driven one of Sebastian's Maybachs, parked outside.

Damn, they're making a fuss over this? Unbelievable!

Quinn frowned, smirking, "It's my car. What's the problem?"

The security guard said, "I'm very sorry, but your car seems to have hit the car in front. Could you come and take a look?"

Quinn curled his lips in disdain. "Hit a car? My car hitting his car is a favor to him. You want me to go there? Why not have the owner come over and thank me in person?"

Brooklyn took a sip of champagne, barely touching her lips before putting it down, watching Quinn with the others.

The security guard smiled, "Sorry, but the car owner requested you personally explain."

Quinn frowned, "Who?"

By now, many people in the banquet hall were looking over. Everyone knew Quinn was the second son of the Kingsley family, known for his rebellious nature. It was almost expected for him to cause a car accident.

"Mr. Quinn Kingsley hit Mr. Jordan's car."

Brooklyn's eyes scanned the hall, but Marc was nowhere to be seen.

Quinn squinted, "Sis, I'll go check it out. I'll be back soon."

"Alright. Be careful."

Quinn nodded.

Watching Quinn leave, Brooklyn bit her lip. How many eyes were watching this banquet? How many people were plotting behind the scenes?

Brooklyn unconsciously touched the ring on her finger. She had to stay calm and steady.

Amarantha and Donny exchanged a glance. Donny whispered, "Just watch. I told you, many people want to bring them down. We just need to sit back and watch."

"Quinn wants to stand up for Brooklyn, but Marc saw through it. Too bad!"

Kelly secretly grabbed Brooklyn's hand, "Honey, I feel something's off. There's a strange vibe."

Brooklyn smiled, "A strange vibe is right. A fox's wedding without a strange vibe would be odd."

Ophelia gritted her teeth. What was Marc up to?

Susie glanced at Brooklyn, her eyes briefly cold before she withdrew her gaze, and she gripped the item in her hand tightly.

After a while, a waiter came by with drinks. Susie took a glass and poured the contents of her item into it.

The powder instantly dissolved into the champagne, colorless and tasteless, undetectable.

Susie placed the champagne on another tray, instructing, "This is the best champagne here. Make sure it goes to Mrs. Kingsley. Remember, it's the finest custom drink. Ensure Mrs. Kingsley takes it herself."

The waiter, puzzled, nodded, "Yes, Mrs. Jordan."

Watching the waiter walk away, Susie smirked. Brooklyn, you really think you're invincible!

With Sebastian out of the country, let's see how you, this slut, handle what's coming!

Susie took a sip of her drink, her eyes fixed on the scene.

The waiter, following Susie's instructions, was careful not to give the drink to anyone else. But Brooklyn's glass was still full, so he hovered nearby, ready to refill it.

Ophelia whispered into her microphone, "Captain, what's up with Marc's car?"

"A trick. He wants to lure Quinn away. I think it's a diversion. Keep an eye on things inside."

"Got it."

"I'm not confident. You're the only one inside right now, with no backup. Be extra careful."

"I'm already on high alert. Any more, and I'll explode."

Brooklyn checked the clock. Quinn had been gone for five minutes and hadn't returned. The hands were now pointing to noon.

In the midst of silence and anticipation, the clock finally struck twelve.

With the chimes, a huge ball exploded upstairs, releasing countless colorful ribbons and heart-shaped confetti, raining down in the grand hall like a vibrant storm.

The venue erupted in applause, guests marveling at the spectacle.

As the ribbons danced, the elevator doors on the second floor opened, revealing a dazzling white figure.

Megan's stunning wedding gown instantly captivated the crowd, her ethereal, floating skirt trailing luxuriously on the carpet.

In another elevator, Simon descended, stopping in the main hall.

Two groomsmen helped Simon out of the elevator. Though he couldn't walk, his charming face still drew many admiring glances.

"What a shame about his legs. If he could walk, he'd be so handsome."

"Don't say such things."

Brooklyn stood at the front, watching Simon with a smirk.

Soon, Lawrence and Karen joined Megan upstairs. Lawrence held Megan's hand, and the father-daughter duo slowly descended the stairs under envious gazes.

On the spiral staircase, Megan's glamorous attire was dazzling, her sexy figure and the brilliant lights making her a stunning beauty.

The officiant stood in the hall, the host using various beautiful words to describe the bride's beauty and grace.

With the wedding march playing, the couple smiled sweetly, and guests felt the excitement.

Everything seemed perfect.

Suddenly, Ophelia heard a voice in her earpiece, "Quinn got into Marc's car. We don't know the situation yet. I'll send someone to follow. Are the wedding proceedings starting?"

Ophelia's fingers tightened. "Yes, it's starting. No anomalies inside. My main target is Marc. He's gone. I should follow! Damn, I haven't placed the tracker on him yet!"

"Hold on. I think it's more complicated than that."

"Understood."

The wedding march continued its timeless melody, Megan's veiled steps on the red carpet bringing her closer to Simon.

Lawrence held her hand, a loving father and daughter. It was such a peaceful and beautiful scene!

Brooklyn sighed. This could have been a simple wedding, a happy union, a loving companionship.

But...

Brooklyn looked for Quinn, but he still hadn't returned. Strange, he just went to meet Marc. Could he have vanished into thin air?

Brooklyn's palm tightened, a sense of unease creeping in.

She pulled out her phone, intending to call Quinn.

"Sis, Megan's wedding is so grand, even better than mine. I'm so jealous."

Brooklyn glanced at Susie, "Where's your husband?"

"Men have their business, women have theirs. Our job is to enjoy the ceremony and watch the bride, right?"

Brooklyn scanned the guests. Without Quinn, she couldn't feel at ease.

"Brooklyn, your wedding with Sebastian was so simple; there were just our two families. The venue was big, but too private. Look at Megan's wedding, the whole city's reporters are here, and half the city's elite are invited. So grand!"

Brooklyn scoffed, "Susie, I warn you, if Marc dares to harm Quinn, I guarantee his future won't be pleasant!"
