Chapter 609 Not Only Stealing Shrimp, But Also Stealing Men

An arm reached across, carrying a faint floral scent that was so refreshing and elegant, unlike the overpowering smell of cheap perfume. The closer Miguel got, the more he was captivated by the subtle fragrance.

Miguel stared at Brooklyn, trying hard to suppress his desire. His eyes flashed with a strong sense of possessiveness.

Excitedly, Miguel extended both hands, ready to grasp Brooklyn's outstretched hand. But before he could touch even a fingertip, a slender, well-proportioned hand naturally took Brooklyn's hand away.

Miguel's fleeting dirty thoughts did not escape Sebastian's notice.

Sebastian cursed in his head, 'Damn it, even at this age, there's still so much greed and desire. The Jordan family genes are really something! It seems Marc's downfall didn't serve as a warning to them. To completely change the Jordan family's bad habits, do we need to uproot them entirely?'

Sebastian's actions were a bit rushed, but no one could say a word against it. After all, it was his wife, and protecting her was only natural.

Miguel's hand failed to touch Brooklyn, leaving him not only disappointed but also embarrassed. "Mr. Kingsley, isn't this a bit petty?"

Sebastian, protecting Brooklyn, naturally pulled out a chair for her, ensuring she was seated comfortably before responding leisurely, "Mr. Jordan, I'm not known for being generous, especially in certain matters."

'You better understand and remember my boundaries.' He thought.

"Mr. Kingsley, aren't you being overly sensitive? Mrs. Kingsley seems quite generous," A middle-aged man across the table said with a half-smile, half-probing.

Sebastian sat next to Brooklyn, "Tonight's focus shouldn't be on my wife, right? Mr. Miguel Jordan, shouldn't you bring out your grandson for us to see?"

"Yes, indeed!"

Miguel's anger was hard to swallow, but showing it directly would be foolish, wouldn't it?

Moreover, Miguel was stunned by his own actions. He had lived nearly seventy years, seen many storms and beauties, but why did Brooklyn almost make him lose control?

This woman was indeed beautiful, capable of capturing one's heart, but she wasn't the most stunning beauty, was she?

So, what was it?

Miguel pondered, his gaze darkening.

"Someone, bring the children over." Fortunately, the children could divert everyone's attention, allowing Miguel to calm his earlier loss of control.

Sebastian's hand gently held Brooklyn's under the table, rubbing her fingers one by one, then intertwining them with his own.

"Why didn't you tell me earlier?" He softly reproached, his voice just loud enough for Catherine to hear clearly.

Catherine and Susie both gritted their teeth, and Dione, sitting next to Miguel, did the same. The three women saw Brooklyn as a thorn in their side, each for their own reasons, wanting to tear her apart.

Catherine's dress had a small stain from red wine, and she was slowly wiping it with a napkin. Her lowered head hid her furious expression from view.

Brooklyn's fingers moved restlessly in Sebastian's palm, teasing him with small taps. "If I had told you earlier, would it have had the same effect? Seeing you rush over, I felt quite accomplished."

Sebastian smiled, "You can't do this again."

"Alright, I'll listen to you."

Their sweet conversation was overheard by Catherine, who clenched her napkin tightly. 'Damn Sebastian, what is he doing showing affection with Brooklyn now? Isn't he supposed to be infatuated with me? Isn't he planning to divorce Brooklyn to be with mr? Damn it! He has been lying to me!' Thinking of this, Catherine angrily threw the wine-stained napkin on the floor, and crushed it under her slender high heel.

Brooklyn and Sebastian's intimate exchange not only showcased their affection but also dispelled rumors of marital discord, stripping Catherine of her dignity. The guests at the table likely understood what it meant to be self-deluded.

After a while, Brooklyn turned to Susie with a gentle smile, "Susie, it's been so long since we last met. Why didn't you call out to me? Before you got married, you used to call me all the time. Now that you're married, you don't recognize me?"

She said this with a smile, making it hard to criticize.

Susie gritted her teeth, "How could I! I've always missed you, often thinking about our time at home!"

Brooklyn picked up a fork, spearing a peeled shrimp from her plate and extending her arm to place it on Susie's plate. "Yes! I often think about it too. Susie, you love shrimp but hate peeling them. At home, you'd always fight me for the peeled shrimp. Remember?"

'Not only fighting for shrimp but also for men, don't you remember?' Brooklyn thought.

Susie didn't know what Brooklyn was up to and dared not speak rashly, squeezing out a resentful reply, "It's been too long, I don't remember."

"Not remembering is good. Otherwise, once you tried to grab the shrimp before I finished peeling it, you ate too quickly, and choked. You had to induce vomiting to get it out!"

Susie's face turned pale. She hadn't expected Brooklyn to bring up such things in front of Aqua Vista City's elite, subtly hinting at the truth.

"Well, Mrs. Jordan, in the future, you should peel your own shrimp."

"If you want shrimp shells, I can peel them for you. Just kidding."

Before Susie could gather her thoughts, Catherine's voice interrupted the murmurs.

"Ms. Mitchell, you're Sebastian's wife. I'm honored! I've heard that Sebastian's wife is as beautiful as an angel, making men stop in their tracks. Seeing you today, I must admit, you are indeed beautiful! If I were a man, I'd definitely pursue you." Her words were laced with sarcasm and humiliation.

But Brooklyn simply smiled, "I really should thank Ms. Cooper's parents for having you as a daughter and making you so beautiful. Even my dear husband seemed to glance at you a few times. Everyone loves beauty, right? I've been secretly admiring you."

Catherine was caught off guard, clenching her fists, "You're too kind! As for Sebastian, I almost forgot, we had a wonderful dinner at Velvet Oasis International's revolving restaurant... truly enjoyable."

Sebastian dining alone with Catherine made twenty-some people chuckle, thinking about his connection with two women, and it was a slap in Brooklyn's face, her husband out with another woman.

Brooklyn suddenly smiled brightly, holding Sebastian's hand, "You took my advice? Ms. Cooper, my husband asked me where to take a female friend for dinner, and I recommended the revolving restaurant. At first, he thought it might be inconvenient, but I encouraged him several times before he went. I'm glad you enjoyed it; my recommendation was spot on."

Sebastian silently smiled. His wife was too clever.

Catherine was furious, almost ready to flip the table and throw the dishes!

"Really? So, spending the night in a hotel suite with Sebastian was also your suggestion?" Her seductive eyebrows hinted at endless ambiguity, spending the night together, making people wonder!

Brooklyn glanced at Sebastian, thinking, 'Spending the night together? Honey, is this true?'

"I'm not generous enough to let my husband spend the night with you. But Ms. Cooper, how did you spend the night with my husband? Tell us."

'Shameless, bringing up spending the night with a man, Catherine, you really go all out.' Brooklyn cursed in her head.

Sebastian tightened his grip on Brooklyn's hand, and Brooklyn forcefully shook it off.

Susie interjected rashly, "Brooklyn, a man and a woman, how do you think they spent the night? Save your self-humiliation for home."

Catherine smirked, looking at Sebastian, "Tell us, how did we spend that night?"

Sebastian frowned, "Ms. Cooper, you drank too much. I took you back to the hotel and had the staff take care of you all night. Where does 'spending the night together' come from?"

"You! You're lying, you were in my room when I woke up!"

Brooklyn interrupted her anger, "Ms. Cooper, do you like my husband? Many women use the same method, but it doesn't work well. Maybe next time you can try drugging his drink?"

"I like him! So what!"

So Catherine was the one who initiated it! Bruce's daughter wanted to climb into Sebastian's bed, using despicable means, now exposed by Brooklyn!

Susie knew she wasn't a match for Brooklyn and dared not speak after losing ground, but Catherine didn't understand Brooklyn's strength and kept pushing forward recklessly.

"Not much, Ms. Cooper, keep liking him. If you can win him over, I'll give him to you!"

Sebastian was speechless. What was Brooklyn saying? He could explain the night together.

Catherine's face turned red, not only humiliated but also ridiculed; she was furious!

"Brooklyn, what are you proud of?"

"Being Sebastian's wife, envied by Ms. Cooper, shouldn't I be a little proud? Just like you, Ms. Cooper, being Mr. Cooper's daughter, aren't you proud?"

"You!"

"Alright, alright, a little argument is fine, but a big one is harmful. Since it's a misunderstanding, let's clear it up. Catherine, Mr. Kingsley has a family, don't overthink it. If you like a certain type of man, I'll introduce you to someone."

A middle-aged man with a blue tie interjected, ending Brooklyn and Catherine's confrontation. If it continued, Catherine might resort to violence.

Resorting to violence would make her lose her case.

Many present had connections with Bruce, and Bruce's daughter needed some protection.

"Looks like the person who shouldn't stay tonight is me! Enjoy your meal, everyone. I'm leaving!" Catherine grabbed her bag and was about to leave.

Her hand was gently pulled by Dione.

"Catherine, the one who should leave hasn't left. Why are you leaving? Sit down, you haven't eaten yet, there are many good dishes, all your favorites, and your father will be here soon."

Hearing Bruce would come, Sebastian and Brooklyn simultaneously looked towards Miguel. It seemed he had notified Bruce midway.

Dear CEO, Please Be Gentle!
