Chapter 200 "Did you sleep well?"

Sebastian spoke up first, and Zach added, "This won't work. I only booked two rooms. It's not right for Ms. Wilson and me to share."

Kelly chimed in, "Of course, that wouldn't be appropriate!"

Brooklyn suggested, "Then Kelly and I can share one room, and you two can take the other."

This idea felt awkward, causing her to think, 'Would Sebastian and Zach, with their tense relationship, end up fighting if they shared a room?'

Zach's stance was simple - as long as he didn't have to share a room with Kelly, he was fine. So, he agreed, "I'm okay with it. I wonder if you would compromise for one night, Mr. Kingsley?"

The implication was clear. If Sebastian didn't agree, he'd look overly fussy and ungentlemanly.

The rooms were assigned, one on the second floor and the other on the third floor of the villa. Brooklyn and Kelly took the master bedroom on the third floor, while the smaller master bedroom was below.

"Brooklyn, my heart almost stopped! How did Sebastian find this place? It scared me! I'm really afraid he might turn Dr. Carter into minced meat!" Kelly gasped, holding her chest, still frightened.

"I just casually mentioned it to the servant. Who knew he would show up? He should have been at home with Megan today."

Just the thought of Megan made Brooklyn unhappy.

"Do you think there might be a fight downstairs? I'm really worried about this house."

"It wouldn't happen, right?" Brooklyn wasn't sure either.

Today was just too embarrassing.

Downstairs in the bedroom, Sebastian sat on the sofa, legs crossed, looking like a host. "Mr. Carter, what are your intentions towards my wife?"

Zach, holding a cup of water, sat on the opposite sofa. "Dr. Mitchell is a good woman. As for intentions? What do you think, Mr. Kingsley?"

Such audacity.

"I don't care about your thoughts, but I advise you to keep your distance from her. Otherwise, you won't be able to bear the consequences."

Zach took a sip of water and placed the cup on the table. "Everyone desires beauty. She is your wife, I know that, but Mr. Kingsley, you should also know that a marriage bound by a piece of paper can't withstand the love between two hearts."

"Love? Do you have that with my wife?" Sebastian's tone dripped with sarcasm and anger.

Zach shook his head. "Honestly, she hasn't accepted me yet. But I think you haven't won her love either, Mr. Kingsley. Otherwise, she wouldn't be trying so hard to break free from the marriage. And, I think you probably doesn't love her either, right? Good love brings enjoyment. Do you think she's enjoying it now?"

At that moment, Sebastian really wanted to shoot him dead!

"Mr. Carter, you act so righteous for a homewrecker. I should give you an award for poaching."

"Mr. Kingsley, I have no intention of interfering in your marriage. I just want the person I care about to be happy, even if she doesn't choose me."

"Don't worry, she won't choose you."

"Maybe not."

"This isn't a guess. It's a fact." Sebastian didn't want to talk anymore. His woman was his, and no one else should touch her.

"Mr. Kingsley, you have great power. You could ruin me or bankrupt the hospital. But you're still a gentleman and wouldn't stoop to that. And I'm not afraid if you did."

Giving him an out was to protect everything he had? Sebastian really disdained such tactics!

"What's wrong with love?"

He tapped his fingers meaningfully, like throwing a boulder into water, stirring up waves.

Zach fell silent, pondering how to handle this tough situation.

The next morning, Brooklyn and Kelly came downstairs to find Sebastian and Zach already in the living room.

'Are they actually getting along?' Brooklyn thought.

She approached, and Sebastian and Zach almost simultaneously asked, "Did you sleep well?"

Zach's greeting was natural, but Sebastian's tone was a bit off.

Brooklyn nodded. "Pretty well, how about you?"

Sebastian and Zach replied in unison, again showing their unspoken understanding.

Well, it would be strange if the two of them had slept well in the same room.

Kelly quickly intervened, "I'm hungry. Can we eat now?"

"Of course, we're waiting for you."

Sebastian held Brooklyn's hand. "Finish breakfast and then we'll go back."

"So early?"

"You don't want to? Is it the scenery or the people?" Sebastian held her hand tightly. Now, he just wanted to hide Brooklyn away and never let her out again!

The unpleasant conversation from last night kept Sebastian awake half the night.

Zach too.

"I promised Kelly to spend two days with her. Sebastian, if you have something to do, you can go back first."

Sebastian held Brooklyn's hand, not too forcefully, and she didn't resist.

"You brought me here. Didn't you want me to leave with you?"

"When did I bring you here?"

Brooklyn found it all very ridiculous.

"If you didn't want me here, why did you tell the servant your location and say you wouldn't be coming back tonight? It's such an obvious hint. How could I not understand?"

Brooklyn really didn't have such thoughts.

Suddenly, both Brooklyn and Zach's phones rang.

"Dr. Mitchell, come to the hospital immediately. There's a major fire in a residential area in the East District, and the hospital is in chaos!"

Brooklyn and Zach exchanged a quick glance. "Let's go, back to the hospital!"
