Chapter 186 Yvette Drugged Again
Sissy and a few others cracked up at the same time. "Yvette, didn't expect to see you here too. Awesome, I can roast both of you at once!"
Sylvia got even more pissed and charged at Sissy. But Sissy had more backup, so Yvette quickly held Sylvia back and turned to face Sissy.
Yvette lifted her chin and said coolly, "You and your friend are quite the pair; neither of you can get what you want."
Sissy pointed at Yvette. "You're actually proud of stealing guys?"
"Whether I stole a guy or not, you and your friend know very well," Yvette said, unfazed. "Nothing in this world is permanent; no point clinging to the past."
"Yvette, I never realized you were so shameless before," Sissy sneered. "But you won't be smug for long. I heard from Violet that you and Albert are getting divorced, and he's about to marry another woman."
"You're right," Yvette said, shrugging like it was no big deal. "Whether Albert and I get divorced or not, Albert definitely won't be marrying Violet."
With that, Yvette couldn't be bothered to say more and dragged Sylvia away. As Yvette pulled Sylvia along, Sylvia kept glaring back at Sissy, fuming.
Sissy watched them leave, her face twisted with anger. Seeing Sissy upset, a few people around her asked, "Sissy, are you just gonna let them get away with saying that stuff?"
Sissy gritted her teeth and glared at them. "Of course not!" Sissy thought for a moment, then pulled out her phone and made a call, "Get over here, I need your help with something. It's a good thing, there's a pretty girl involved."
Back at the booth, Sylvia was still fuming. She glanced at Yvette several times before finally sighing. "I'm sorry, Yvette. I didn't know we'd run into Sissy here."
"It's okay," Yvette said softly.
"I brought you here to relax and have fun, but I didn't expect..." Sylvia said, grabbing a snack and munching on it. "I'm so upset that even the snacks don't taste good."
Yvette was completely unfazed, saying, "There are plenty of things that can bother me right now; Sissy is nothing."
Sylvia's phone rang, and she glanced at it. "Yvette, I need to take this call. It's from my mom, probably something important."
Seeing Yvette nod, Sylvia took her phone and stepped outside. Yvette also got up and headed to the restroom.
The line for the women's restroom in the bar was always long. Yvette waited forever before getting back to the booth, only to find that Sylvia hadn't returned yet.
Yvette didn't think much of it. The area was full of bars with loud music everywhere. If Sylvia wanted to have a proper conversation on the phone, she might have had to walk a bit further away, so it was normal for her to be late.
Thinking this, Yvette didn't wait for her and kept drinking. Even though Yvette was drinking the sparkling beverages Sylvia had ordered, the bar's vibe made her feel a little tipsy, which was weird.
Watching the people dancing freely on the dance floor, Yvette suddenly felt her body heating up. Before long, Sissy walked over.
Sissy glanced at the empty glass in front of Yvette with a smug look. "You are sitting here? Our tables aren't far apart. I have a lot of friends over there. Why don't we all hang out together?"
Yvette felt something was off with her body. She frowned and said, "No, thanks."
"Why not?" Sissy slid into the seat next to Yvette, grinning. "You're about to get divorced, right? You must be feeling lonely. I have a bunch of single friends. You could meet someone, and if you guys hit it off, maybe you could even become a couple."
Seeing Sissy's eyes dart to the empty glass in front of her, Yvette suddenly realized something was wrong.
The heat radiating from her body made Yvette uncomfortable. She suddenly remembered feeling the same way the last time she was at a small bar.
She had thought it was the aftereffect of drinking too much, but today she had only had sparkling beverages. Yvette immediately became alert; she might have been drugged.
Yvette gritted her teeth and grabbed her and Sylvia's bags, standing up while dialing Sylvia's number.
Sissy immediately grabbed her hand, not letting her leave. "What are you doing?"
"I'm leaving." Yvette shook off Sissy's hand but felt too weak to break free.
Her phone indicated that Sylvia's line was busy, and Yvette's heart sank, starting to feel scared. Looking back at Sissy seriously, Yvette said, "Let go of me. It's late; I need to go home."
"It's still early, just past ten. Going home is boring." Sissy held Yvette's wrist and shouted to her table. "My friend here seems drunk. Any of you guys feel like being a gentleman and taking her home?"
Hearing this, a few men from the other table immediately showed interest and walked over, eyeing Yvette with lust.
One of the men, wearing a floral shirt with several buttons undone, revealing his chest, looked greasy and disgusting. He walked up to Yvette and reached out to hold her. "I'm Todd Bailey, a real gentleman. I'll take her home and make sure she gets there comfortably."
Yvette was startled and quickly dodged, but her body was weak, and she almost fell. Fortunately, Sissy was beside her, and Yvette fell onto Sissy.
Sissy, annoyed, tried to push her towards Todd. "I've arranged for someone to take you home. What more do you want?"
Todd stroked his chin and came over to grab Yvette. "Yeah, I said I'd take you home."
Losing Sissy as a support, Yvette wobbled and almost fell. Even if she fell, she didn't want to get close to Todd. "Get away from me!"
"What's eating you?" Todd glanced at Sissy. "Should I take her?"
Sissy waved her hand, and Todd immediately grinned wickedly and came over to hold Yvette.
Yvette looked at Todd approaching her in despair. "Get away from me."
Just as Todd was about to hold Yvette, a tall figure suddenly pushed him away.
The force was so strong that the unprepared Todd fell to the ground, hitting his head hard and causing a gasp from the surrounding people.
Todd, humiliated and angry, propped himself up, shouting, "Who the hell are you?!"
Yvette's vision was blurry. She slowly looked up and saw Albert's grim face, looking down at Todd. "She told you to get away. Didn't you hear?"
