Chapter 405 Who Exactly Did She Buy This Tie For?

In the master bedroom, the afternoon's mall purchases were placed on the table.

While Albert was outside playing with the kids, Yvette walked to the table and glanced over the items in front of her.

She picked up the tie she had impulsively bought, thinking it would suit Albert well.

The tie box was slightly deformed, but not severely. She pressed it firmly, and it returned to its original shape.

Yvette could almost picture Albert's displeased expression and his tight grip on the tie box when he saw the tie. Lowering her eyes, her long lashes cast shadows that couldn't hide her disappointment and sadness. Maybe she shouldn't have done something so inappropriate.

Her actions would only reveal her humility and indecisiveness to Albert.

The whole world would know that even if Albert confined her, hurt her, or used force against her, she couldn't resist him.

His confinement was just to make her unconditionally obey him, not to do these unnecessary things.

She was never sure if Albert truly loved her, so why do these things?

Thinking of this, Yvette took the tie out of the gift box and stuffed it into the wardrobe.

Suddenly, there was a knock on the door. Yvette was startled and quickly hid the packaging boxes before turning to open the door.

As soon as the door opened, the two children jumped in like little rabbits and threw themselves into Yvette's arms.

"Mommy!" BoBo and CiCi were sweating, but their eyes were shining, indicating they had a great time.

BoBo and CiCi rarely had such moments of extreme excitement. Most of the time, they were very well-behaved, and when they were with David, they were even more mature than children their age should be.

But with Albert, they could show their innocent, lively, and adorable sides.

To say she wasn't moved at all would be Yvette deceiving herself.

Yvette patted BoBo and CiCi's backs. "You sweated too much, darlings. You need to change your clothes."

She was about to get the clothes when Albert stepped towards the wardrobe first. "Where are they? I'll get them."

Yvette hesitated slightly, then pointed to the children's wardrobe. "Over there."

Sunlight slanted into the room, casting Albert's tall figure on the floor as he stood in front of the wardrobe, carefully selecting the children's clothes, which looked particularly small in his hands.

Albert found two matching outfits in different colors.

He held the clothes in front of the children. "Do you like these?"

BoBo and CiCi nodded. "Mommy took us to buy these! Mommy has a similar outfit too!"

Albert raised an eyebrow but said nothing more. He just helped them change their clothes.

The children were still excited, chatting happily and wriggling around as Albert helped them change.

Albert patiently dressed them, letting them be playful without showing any impatience.

Once BoBo and CiCi were dressed, Albert took out his phone and took a picture of them.

CiCi looked up at Albert, curious. "Why are you taking a picture?"

"I want to take a picture of you," Albert said calmly.

BoBo pouted and bluntly exposed him. "But you're taking a picture of our clothes, not us."

Albert glanced at BoBo. "The clothes look nice."

BoBo smirked. "Do you want to buy clothes like ours and Mommy's?"

Albert paused, realizing he'd been seen through by a three-year-old. Clearing his throat, he turned away without a word.

That night, after finishing his work, Albert stood at the master bedroom door, staring at the doorknob for a long time without opening it. He felt a bit nervous.

Tonight's work was important, but he always put Yvette first.

He insisted on finishing his work today, just to prepare for how he should express his surprise and satisfaction when he received the gift later.

When he first saw the tie, Albert was furious. He couldn't stand Yvette buying gifts for other men, especially something as personal as a tie.

But when the bodyguard reminded him that it might be for him, Albert was both surprised and delighted, and also felt guilty.

How could he be so sensitive? He almost misunderstood Yvette.

Albert had been testing all day, trying to find out if the tie was for him. He was afraid of misreading the situation.

But Yvette was like a fortress, revealing nothing.

Even though he had been lingering around her all day, hoping she would give him the tie, everything remained calm.

Albert's emotions were unstable. He finally raised his hand, gently grasped the doorknob, and turned it to enter.

The dim light of a small bedside lamp enveloped Yvette, who was curled up with her back to the door, seemingly asleep. Albert walked lightly, but still woke her as he reached the bed. Sleepy, Yvette slowly opened her eyes and moved to make room for him. It seemed she had left the lamp on for him.

Albert lay down facing Yvette, staring at her tired face.

Yvette felt a bit uneasy under his gaze and mumbled softly, "Turn off the light and sleep."

Albert responded with a soft "hmm" and turned off the light.

As the room gradually quieted down, Albert suddenly spoke, "Don't you have anything to say to me?"

Yvette's body stiffened. She pretended not to understand and turned over, her back to Albert.

Yvette said softly, "No, let's sleep."

The moonlight filled the room like water.

In the dead of night, the only sounds in the room were their even breaths, telling the loneliness of the night.

Albert frowned. In his dream, Yvette was strangling him with something.

The suffocating feeling was too real, so real that Albert's heartbeat was erratic from lack of oxygen.

Albert suddenly opened his eyes. In the moment he woke up, he saw what "Yvette" was using to strangle him.

It was the dark-patterned gray tie she had just bought.

Albert rarely felt "conflicted."

He just wanted to know, who was the tie for?

Why hadn't she given it to him yet?
