Chapter 317 Did Albert and Yvette Sleep Together?

"Grandma, what are you..."

"Yvette picked you. Albert needs to let it go, no matter how stubborn he is."

David thought for a moment and said, "Thanks for understanding."

Cheryl asked, "Are you and Yvette planning to leave Luken and never come back?"

"Yeah, that's her plan. She doesn't want to be Yvette anymore, and she doesn't want to come back."

Cheryl's eyes filled with tears. "But David, I'm getting old. Every time I see you might be the last. If you leave, I might never see you again."

David's tone softened. "Grandma, please don't say that."

"I know my own body." Cheryl held David's hand. "David, you and Yvette should stay in Luken with the kids for a while. Give me a chance to spend more time with them. Once I'm gone, you can go wherever you want."

David hesitated, pressing his lips together without speaking.

Cheryl asked, "Are you worried Albert will cause trouble?"

David nodded. "You know, Albert has been looking for her for over three years and now he's convinced she's Yvette. You know his temper; he won't stop until he gets what he wants. I'm afraid he'll hurt Yvette. If we don't leave now, it will be hard to escape once he goes crazy."

"I'll handle this."

David asked, "How will you handle it?"

"I'll find you a place to stay," Cheryl said seriously. "Rest assured, the place I provide will be somewhere he can't find or disturb you. As long as you're near me, I won't let him cause any trouble."

David said, "Grandma, you know Albert's personality, don't you?"

"No matter how bad his personality is, he has to listen to me. In the Valdemar Family, I have that much authority," Cheryl said firmly. "Stay in Luken, and I'll help you. The two kids are my great-grandchildren; let them spend more time with me. I won't treat them poorly. What I can give them is far more than you can imagine."

Cheryl's emphasis on the two children made David worry about other things, but he didn't show it at the moment.

"I'll listen to you. Thank you, Grandma," David said.

David sat in the car, looking at the key in his hand.

The passenger door opened, and Virgil got in.

David clenched the key in his palm and handed him a card. "The card's password is 3344. Leave Luken immediately."

Virgil looked indignant. "Mr. Valdemar, are you dismissing me just because of Yvette?"

David glanced at him. "I said, go back to Las Vegas first."

Virgil was stunned, then looked pleasantly surprised after a moment. "You're not kicking me out?"

"You didn't do anything wrong," David said, his eyes darkening as he felt the edges of the key in his palm. "Grandma gave me the key, which means she's chosen to side with Yvette and me. Albert can't do anything now."

Virgil asked, "Really?"

"Yes, as long as I can take Yvette back to Stellaria, everything will start anew," David said coldly, his eyes icy. "I won't let him find us again."

Now that everyone was on his side, with Yvette and the kids with him, he had to seize the opportunity.

He couldn't let Albert take them away again.

He would first appease Cheryl. Staying in Luken was asking for trouble; he had to go back eventually.

Virgil was excited. "Then, Mr. Valdemar, I'll go back to Las Vegas and wait for you and Mrs. Valdemar."

"Yes."In the Valdemar Group conference room, everyone sat up straight, nerves on edge, waiting for Albert to show up. When Vincent opened the door, heads dropped, avoiding Albert's intense stare.

But today, even though Albert had walked in, the usual heavy atmosphere was missing.

Everyone looked up at the same time, and Albert's face was as unreadable as ever.

Vincent opened a folder and placed it in front of Albert. "Mr. Valdemar."

"Alright, let's get started."

The project manager, Wade Grant, began his report, feeling the pressure. But halfway through, he realized there was a huge mistake in the data, making the whole project pretty much useless.

Albert hated wasting time. Showing him a project with such a big error would definitely tick him off.

Wade's face went pale. "I'm sorry, Mr. Valdemar. This data needs to be recalculated."

The room got tense as everyone lowered their heads, bracing for Albert's anger. No one dared to look up, fearing even a glance could get them in trouble. As expected, Albert frowned slightly and looked up.

Wade glanced at Vincent for help.

Vincent felt a chill down his spine. As just an assistant, how could he handle such a big issue?

"You finally noticed?" Albert said coldly. "I thought you wouldn't."

"I'm sorry, Mr. Valdemar. It's our mistake. I should have checked it more thoroughly."

"Alright." Albert closed the file in front of him and tossed it to Wade. "Fix it quickly. Meeting adjourned."

Albert's expression stayed the same, and his tone was calm, without a hint of blame.

Wade looked up in surprise. "Huh? Just like that?"

Albert, who was about to leave, stopped and turned back, his gaze icy as it swept over Wade's face. "What? Are you not satisfied?"

"No, no!" Wade quickly stood up, bowing slightly. "I'll fix it as soon as possible and bring it back for your review!"

Albert said nothing more and left the conference room.

Once the door closed and Albert and Vincent left, everyone breathed a sigh of relief.

Those present had endured Albert's strictness for years, and they exchanged astonished looks as if witnessing a rare sight.

"What's up with Mr. Valdemar today? Wade, you're so lucky. Such a big mistake, and you didn't get fired?"

Wade looked like he had just escaped death. "I thought I was close to being fired."

"Did Mr. Valdemar sign a new project today? Is that why he's in a good mood?"

"No way. Even when he signed the project with the Morgan Group, he was as stern as ever. I don't think it has anything to do with the company."

"If it's not about the company, could it be about a woman? Everyone knows our Mr. Valdemar is incredibly devoted. It can't be about a woman."

Outside the conference room, Vincent silently followed Albert.

Albert's reaction just now had also surprised him.

Vincent, curious, began to speculate. "Did we secure the partnership with Starwave Group?"

Albert ignored his question, but suddenly remembered something and turned back. "Prepare some living essentials for the place in Eastside."

"Huh?"

"There are no towels for Yvette. She uses mine," Albert said. "Get everything ready as soon as possible."

Vincent was silent.

Wasn't this a bit too much information? Did this mean Albert and Yvette had slept together?
