Chapter 396 Yvette, it seems I've been too good to you

Sitting in the car on the way home, Yvette was so angry her eyes were red. She thought she had been vigilant against David and wouldn't be easily deceived. She couldn't understand why it was so difficult to get everything back on track.

Yvette helplessly looked at the gradually darkening sky outside the car window and the hurried pedestrians on the road.

BoBo sensitively noticed Yvette's emotions. He tugged at Yvette's clothes. "Mommy, did you have a fight with Daddy? You never let us see him, and today you're so mad at him..."

Yvette turned around and felt heartbroken seeing BoBo being so understanding.

Deceived by David once again, she was so angry that she hurriedly took them away without letting them say goodbye. They must have been scared too.

Yvette pursed her lips, feeling sad. They were still too young to understand the complex relationships between adults, and she hadn't found a suitable way to explain it to them.

She forced a smile. "Mommy does have a lot to tell you, but I haven't figured out the best way to say it yet. Can you wait for Mommy?"

BoBo and CiCi nodded simultaneously, their innocent eyes full of trust in her. "Yes, yes!"

BoBo reached out his soft little hand and grabbed Yvette's hand. "Mommy, you're doing the right thing!"

Yvette's eyes stung. Even though she hated David, she couldn't bring herself to treat him with complete malice.

Because during her amnesia, David never tried to deceive her into aborting the children. The thing Yvette was most grateful for in her life was that her two children were healthy and understanding. She patted their heads and smiled with relief.

She said, "Mommy will take you home."

Back home, Yvette asked the maid Rosalind Claire to take the two children to play.

Rosalind, holding BoBo, looked back at Yvette sitting on the sofa several times, wanting to say something but hesitating.

Yvette turned around and met Rosalind's eyes. She was taken aback. "What's wrong?"

Rosalind thought for a moment and then cautiously said, "Mrs. Valdemar, actually Mr. Valdemar came back early and went straight to the study. He didn't look very happy. I just wanted to remind you not to upset him today."

As the sun gradually set, the entire living room was slowly dyed with the tranquil twilight.

A trace of confusion flashed in Yvette's eyes, and she nodded. "Okay, got it."

When the last ray of the setting sun disappeared on the horizon, the light in the living room also gradually faded.

As Yvette was about to return to her room, the study door suddenly opened inward. Albert, with a cold expression, appeared beside her. Yvette frowned, feeling that her luck today was particularly bad.

The moment Albert appeared, the atmosphere in the entire house became very tense.

His deep eyes were like the cold wind in the night, exuding a profound and sinister look, like a leopard ready to pounce, staring at Yvette.

His aura became as cold as winter, making people instinctively fearful.

Understanding that his coldness was probably because of her, Yvette instinctively tried to avoid him, not wanting to provoke Albert, but he grabbed her wrist.

Her heart trembled slightly, and she looked back at him. "What's the matter?"

"Yvette, do you even forget what you just said?" Albert's voice was low, with suppressed anger.

His lips were tightly pressed into a line, as if trying hard to control his emotions, and under his thick eyebrows were a pair of burning eyes.

"What?" Yvette looked at him inexplicably. "What did I say?"

"You said you would become the wife I want as soon as possible." Albert curled his lips with a hint of a cold smile.

Yvette instinctively thought Albert was still upset about her taking birth control pills. She looked at him with cold eyes and frowned slightly. "So? The wife you want is someone who will immediately have a child with you?"

"Don't twist my words." Albert's eyes were sinister. "The wife I want wouldn't secretly take the children to meet another man..."

Albert's Adam's apple moved slightly, and he swallowed the rest of his words, changing it to, "Meet."

A trace of surprise flashed in Yvette's eyes, and she blurted out, "You followed me?"

Albert's eyes were disdainful. "The party is about to be held, and you are in the spotlight. I had someone secretly protect you."

He paused, his voice even lower. "You admitted it."

"I did go to see him," Yvette's eyes were stubborn. "But it was just for the children's sake..."

"For the children, you can go see David?" Albert couldn't help but think of the photo again, David holding BoBo and CiCi in the children's area, and Yvette standing on the side, quietly watching them.

That harmonious family of four was glaringly obvious.

The gifts he bought for them at the mall were roughly stuffed into the car's trunk.

While he was eagerly preparing gifts for them, she took the children to see David.

Thinking of this, Albert's anger grew even stronger, almost losing his reason.

Hearing the laughter from the children's room, Albert tightened his grip and pulled Yvette into the room.

The door was slammed shut by Albert, and he pinned Yvette against the door, raising his hand to pinch her delicate chin, forcing her to face his anger.

"What are you doing?" The suffocating feeling made Yvette extremely uncomfortable.

Albert's deep eyes were full of sinister intent, and he stared at Yvette's face. "For the children, you can go back to David? Can't I solve it?"

Albert almost roared at her, "Yvette, do you have to use the children as an excuse to see David?"

Tears welled up in Yvette's eyes, and she blinked them away, forcing back the tears.

In his heart, she was still the woman who wavered between him and his brother.

Yvette turned her head. "If that's what you think, I have nothing to say."

Albert's anger suddenly disappeared, replaced by an extremely cold chill.

His eyes were deep. "Yvette, it seems I've been too good to you."
